Texcat, I had the same thought when I was looking at the original game and I think it fits with the color in the teaser thread.

Then I expect down the line we'll end up in a situation where we'll need to reject it in order to have the game make sense. I'm not saying that Batman is a PFK, just that it seems like a legitimate possibility.

Do you think we might have a name investigator instead of an alignment investigator?

I think an alignment investigator is more likely but I'm not prepared to state that equivocally whether one or both are in the game. Why?

Would a PFK Batman claim his real name? And wouldn't an investigator learn "PFK" instead of "Batman" unless they are a name investigator.

I suppose so. Of course, if the investigator only gets a result of town or not-town it doesn't matter.

ok. heh heh.
i love going down the potential game set up kind of shit. fascinating. anyone want to gander about how many times we have been correct. i'd put the number pretty much between infregquent and not often. more likely not even close.
i'm going to play this one straight (which means i should be mince meat toDay or toNight).
and while i understand the tongue in cheek "vote early, vote often" meme it does have it's place.
certainly their is a contingent that kind of goes down the "random D1 blah fucking blah" path. but it does seem surprising how many scum get sussed early and then town just kind of goes to shit. therefore, i look to motivation. seems to me that we had some early votes for ed because he is a prick, asshole, distracting drunk. i remain unconvinced that determines his alignment. matter of fact i think that says more about his voters than anything. hey, i am getting a little bit of heat for making too much sense. once again a cheap ass shot.
i think it behooves us, especially with a group of this size that we do in fact get our votes in early. that way we can figure out what in the world folks are up to. seriously if we have a gang rush of ten votes in the last hour or so that really doesn't accomplish much except providing scum an ahh fuck kind of get out of jail free card.

We may not be successful now, but look to the most recently ended Conspiracy game. If we hadn't sussed out the set up and lynched Inner instead of CIAS, we would have lost the game. So, I don't think speculation is bad, but you do have a point that without any evidence whatsoever, it's just guessing. And, you've gotten one vote (and not for being coherent) from a guy who made a case that several people have questioned. And this guy also is known for making pressure votes early. Speaking of this guy, where are all those posts he told us about? Is he not a weekend player?

If we hadn't sussed out the set up and lynched Inner instead of CIAS, we would have lost the game. <snipped> and it was certainly well played on town's behalf, i give you that. but if we wouldn't have had a member go awol then you would have lost. also, the better play might have been to lynch cabal rather than town scotsman. so i give you the victory but with the knowledge that you won because of a non participant - especially one that had been participating earlier. go figure those beans. no, i am not bitter in the least.

I realize that the weekend is just ending and people have various schedules dictating their presence online and in the game so I'd just like to note that scathach, pleonast, astralrejection, and archangel have yet to check in at all. This isn't meant to be a call-out as there's still a good four days left but I'd like to hear from more than just, ed, peeker, chronos, and so on. Already 2 of the most talkative players have 2 votes apiece and I think it would be bad if today ended up being a referendum on who town thought was scummier, ed or chronos.

Well, playing coulda woulda shoulda is kinda pointless. Sure, if boozy hadn't flaked out perhaps cabal would have won. And if I hadn't flaked out, perhaps town would have figured everything out sooner and stomped cabal into the ground. What matters is what did happen.

I find that my posts of late take even longer than normal, and take on a life of their own. I think it works for me. Hopefully I am coherent here. I also have an OOG after all of it. Not to come down as a parent here, Ed, but will you attempt to post drunk to this game again? It makes for a lot of noise. I don't find drunk posting to be pro-town. I very well might. SNIPPED. *Edited to fix a type in the bolded word* and to annoy others. Maybe mostly to annoy others. Oh so dastardly noisy! Ed, I was frankly looking for an apology here. On the "it's not personal" level. Your binge didn't help town. I will get back to this in a second. My vote remains on you for being anti-town. An apology on the personal level. Meh. We have a history. Whatever. Please re-read the above paragraph. - And then, you go and make an Edit?! Not only an edit, but an edit with an explanation that I would have thought would come from Peeker. I don't think I can double vote Ed here, with the second vote solely on policy. Can I? I am trying to say, I find that I [obviously] am not liking the apparent "new" Ed. It has overtones of old Peeker. I would like the Classic Formula Ed back. A few comments related to other players I need to posit: Peeker: I'm not sure what is man, but at the risk of snuggling, Holy crap I understand you 1000% tonight. I feel like we have had some friction, that is no longer there. In short you have grown as a player, and in my opinion it helps your play a great deal. Let me take my post one step or two steps, further, and I will bring it back full circle. Chronos: I think you know where I am with you right now. It's not even at a FOS threshold. The reason? As someone else has pointed out, you are doing things that fit your personality. I "get" you when you are that way. You are being very ""Chronos"" right now. You are being very Classic Formula. This is a good thing. Cookies: You aren't even on my radar. However, you are ringing true to your Classic Formula style as well. It is this..... predictabillity that Cookies, and Chronos has currently, that kinda makes New Ed stick out even more. Yes, I perceive of a New Peeker, but I can't fault it.
--- We still have [as I write this] a few players yet to check into the game. We still have a few real-world days* left in Day 1. My vote is staying on Ed for the time being. * I know there is some Capital letter convention here. I can never ever remember it. OOG: It's been a while since I've played Mafia. I've found work, at a retail supermarket. That being said, my hours are not my own. Do not expect me to be posting 24-7 as I have, frankly, built my reputation on. I don't think the game, or my game will suffer for it. If I am more active in the game than I used to be during my time off, well, I'm not going to make a comment on that.

The convention that I follow is a day or a night is a real day or night. A Day or a Night is an in-game day or night. Today is the 4th of march. ToDay is roughly a third through Day 1.

Seriously though, Meeko, I'm sorry if my editing or cussing or rapping offended you in any way.
However, despite all of your threats of votes for playing in a way that is unfamiliar t you, I am not going to change to play the way you remember me playing. Though, in reality, my new playstyle really isn't all that different in tone or fluff. It's only different in how much I'm willing to dig into the game. of course, that's already been pointed out.

You don't need to apologize to me. You just didn't know any better. The implication here, is that you knew better when you did yours. Which doesn't help your case.
