It's pretty obvious now that I'm the Town Jailer. I did NOT target Batman last night, I had to have been redirected to the Batcave. I know you are wondering why the hell I jailed the Doc. It was the result of misunderstanding my role, and the mods LEAVING OUT a key part of my power. I thought I had a choice to either protect or block with my jailing. Nope, it's both. I targetted Eleanor both night one and night two. Because of the mass block on night one I didn't find out about the other part of my role till the mods said Eleanor was in jail and couldn't speak or be voted for the whole Day at dawn of day three. I was so confused! I was like <urkel>Did I do that?</urkel> Yeah, they LEFT THAT PART OUT! I was a little ticked at that. I thought I was protecting the backup doc when in fact I was protecting, blocking, and removing them from the game for a whole cycle. Grrrrrrr. I'm sorry for that. I really thought I was doing a good thing protecting her. After that, I've been targetting who I suspect to not be playing in the town's best interest. Scum or PFK either one are fine with me. Total Galadriel was my target for night three. I don't really have a lot of time to do in depth analysis anymore and I pretty much rely on my gut feelings for stuff like this. She was getting some suspicion and I thought she was a good target. Last night, I tried to jail storyteller (basically for the same reason) and ended up jailing Batman. Whether I triggered the redirect by targetting him specifically or someone decided to redirect me specifically I have no idea. I'm sorry guys. :fail: That story has the distinct whiff of untruth. There's the whole issue of the power being effective for a whole cycle. Why are you jailing at random now, when we could have info that would compel us to lynch someone who would be jailed? So yeah, I just don't believe you. unvote Death Of Ratsvote Dexter

Who said I was jailing at random? Gut feelings aren't random. And I have no control over the power I got. I'm playing with what I was given. Now that I have all the information about it anyway.

Seems like a Town player might not have used their power once they figured it out. Also seems odd that it was worded in a way that misled you. Also seems odd that you didn't question the wording if it were odd. Doesn't seem so odd that you are probably lying.

SQUEEK!
(So Dexter is claiming he blocked Eleanor without understanding his power -- which, fine, Eleanor was indeed Jailed -- then Total Galadriel for having garnered some suspicion, then attempted to jail Story and was redirected to Bats. Possibly Story has a redirect, what with being a JOAT and all, but I think the biggest thing that's bothering me about this, Dex, is what Raj brought up: Once you learned you were KOing people for a full Day and Night, why would you continue to use the ability? Paranoid Doc to that extreme isn't really very beneficial to Town. Of course I'm well known that anything that eliminates the ability to discuss actions -- what, why, who, how -- are very bad for Town. The more talk, the more likely Scum are to say something to give themselves away.)
SQUEEK! (Vote: Dexter)
SQUEEK (With that out of the way, does anyone have any theories about why Rorschach has also but not as thoroughly been removed from the game? Or whodunnit?)

I have to admit, it sounds like bullshit, Dexter.
Having said this, I know my role left out at least one major detail(the whole "it's invisible but re-directable" thing).
What did your pm say that made you think you had a choice between protecting and blocking? I know you can't quote it, but what's the gist of it that made you think this?
I can sympathize, so I'm giving you a shot.

I do not have a choice to sit idle. I have to choose someone and it can't be myself. I asked. I knew that night one would bite me in the ass when I had to claim. I mean, how could it not? I know that the mods won't confirm in thread that a huge part of my power was left out of my pm. I understand the votes. Hell, I would be voting me too if I didn't know I was town.

I find it, now what is the word, convenient? Yes, convenient, heehee! That poor Eleanor got pitched into a dank dark cell on the same night that the big fluffy vigilante was forced to attack Bats-for-brains. Speaks of coordination, it does, it does. And who would coordinate for such things? MURDERERS! Yes indeed, yes indeed. Keep the blood out of their scummy beards that way. Keep the doc from smacking them back into the muck they came from. Very nice for them, very nice.

With me, a key part was left out.

So, the mods left a KEY PART out or you misread it? Make up your mind. With me, a key part was left out. Both. There isn't a "make up my mind" here. I misunderstood that my target would be both protected and blocked. I thought it was either/or. The mods left out the fact that I would jail my target for an entire night/day cycle. That is pretty much a KEY PART. As I said, I was pretty pissed about it. To reiterate: My misunderstanding was of the and vs. either aspect. Missing component of the PM was that the jailed player would be out of commission the entire next day.

::: Holds up a finger :::
I wonder each player got EITHER a post restriction, or a power restriction.
That is, if you guys don't have a post restriction, I would be willing to bet that your role can not be trusted as given. One way or another.
I got clarification on my EMP, but that's because I asked. It is also a Trumps All ability.
That being said, I might not be the best litmus here, but I think there might be something to be said for those that do not have a post restriction.
I have ideas on how to go further on this, but I will raise this flag this high, and pause, as I take note who all salutes.
::: Sets an invisble LP on an invisible Victrola and winds it up, then cups his ear to the record player::::
FTR : I think that there is too much latent confusion here to be made up. Gonna pull a George here and say that I can't read THAT much into it, yet.
I am leery of people who seem over-aggressive. It was Peeker for offering the one best case scenario unsolicited, early in the day. Today, Raj seems to be taking that Mantle, laying it on thick with the "Seems Odd" reaming of Dexter.
ED: I am going to make one pass at this; If "Seems Odd" is the only Barometer you have, then speaking about you personally, you should Vote me every single chance you get, selecting no one else at any point in time of your voting, or incremental steps in making a case for their vote.
That is to say, you are a bit heavy handed with labeling the Odd, that I wonder how resolute you can be in leveling "odd" on anyone else but me.
If I need to clarify anything, or answer anything let me know, but for the sake of brevity, I stop here, assuming and hoping you guys get more of me than you don't.

I am completely impressed, however, at how you can take my vote for someone else for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with you...and make it about you.

You could take it that way, but I thought on night one and two that I had a greater duty to protect the doc. (Remember, I thought I could protect or block at that point.) I played how I thought I needed to play. We seem to have an abundance of overlap in this game, with slightly different iterations of the roles. Did I miss a doc claim from another player? I don't remember anyone but Eleanor. After she and Columbo claimed, I thought I was the weaker counterpart to both of them. Since we seem to have 2 vigs and 2 investigators already I didn't think it was that unusual that there would be overlap in other roles.

Also, I didn't know that I jailed people for the day also until we woke up to Eleanor in jail. Again, had I know this aspect of my power I would have played it much differently and probably would have jailed Puffy instead of tried to protect Eleanor. Dammit, I hate that this was so messed up!

Also, for everyone aside from Dexter.
Since they decided to jail Total Galdriel after the failed attempt on Batman, it might make sense that they suspected her of being a protector, since Batman didn't die

and I wonder if this points toward Rorschach being a redirector that brought Puft to Batman's cave.
Of course, the redirector might only have been visible if Puft were watched.

What I'm trying to say is this: You jailed total on a night (night 3) when according to your own stated suspicions it would have made more sense to jail puft? By night three, I thought it was pretty much a given that Raj would try to take him out. By jailing Puffy on night 3, I would have blocked him, but I also would have protected him from Raj and prevented him from being lynched the next day. That would have been bad. He needed to die and I would have impeded that. On night one or two, it would have been a better idea and I might would have done it then. Might being the operative word here. Getting my full role information before we started certainly would have changed things, but I haven't given a whole lot of thought to what I coulda, shoulda, woulda because there isn't any point in wasting the brain power. I can't change the past.

I'm not inclined to vote for Dexter at this time, and I agree with PaulWhoIsMeeko that there's some ripe-smelling stuff being used to justify voting for Dexter. The possibility of some Gastardliness has only been vaguely referred to, but the possibility still weighs on my mind.
Dexter's testimony does not seem too far fetched to believe given the explanation provided, assuming she's telling the truth. I'd be more inclined to vote for Rorschach, but not when he can't defend himself.
Marcel, please stop voting for Raj just because he's pissed you off.
