I'm not sure if this is a joke, Charlie, but you're not making me happy, either. No guarantees Scooby is Town, but you appear to be assuming Scooby needs snacks. Add in the distinct possibility we don't want him outed, and you post this? BTW, in canon Scooby snacks worked as well on Shaggy as they did Scooby. it's a joke in part but also an attempt to find out the use of scooby snacks. i realize that it might be better that scooby, if he exists as a role, stay hidden. here are my reasons for wanting to know: 1. information is good for Town in most cases. 2. people are 'leaving' at a fast rate. i would love to find out before the game ends just to satisfy my curiosity (it IS a mystery theme ;D). also while i realize that shaggy also loved scooby snacks and in this game he was scum, it seems unlikely scooby is scum. he was whimpering when shaggy was caught. however in the case that scooby is scum, i'd like to know that. it's a risk but i believe that this game was created with the idea that we would not only try to ferret out scum but also to figure out the mystery. It is best to leave sleeping dogs lay.

As things stand, however, she left her vote on the player she found most suspicious, because her vote was not needed to lynch FCOD. Technically this is not true; FCOD's claim made me considerably more confident on him than I was on Septimus. But as you note, my vote was not remotely needed; nor, between my starting the bandwagon and my comments post-claim, could there be any doubt of my opinion. Moving my vote back at that point would have been a meaningless gesture. Which specific comment was this? I wasn't paying too much attention to what commenters on FCOD's claim were saying to each other.

@ Mental Guy: Regarding your post about having the Masons claim, you seem to make a distinction between a "single remaining Mason" and "more than one Mason remaining". That is, you think that if only one Mason is alive then he or she should claim, but if more than one are alive, then you want to hear what others have to say about it. Does it matter? So far all we know is that Paranoia was a Mason. However, he wasn't all that active on D1, and died without voting for anyone. It is my personal opinion that it would be a good idea for any remaining Masons to claim. Both to avoid being vig targets and to narrow the scum pool. I have been known to miss things that should be obvious, however, and I wanted to see if anyone had any reason that the Masons should not claim.

[fluff] Oh dear, oh my ... it appears I have made an egregious error.
It has been brought to my attention (by no less than Hoopy Frood ... sorry, but I'm not going to put in the o-with-a-slash) that the third item in a list should be "Hi Opal" and not "Ask Opal". [/fluff]
As you were.

If the witness to a claim was SCUM wouldn't they give a 'false' witness?
I don't see Renata backing septimus very strongly. yet septimus is refering to Renata as unconfirmed TOWN D3# 27 Did I miss something?

@Septimus: Regarding your comments to Ed in D3 #27, you seem to be poking him with a stick because he put his name in blue to signify Town. If I recall correctly, Ed said that his is a "Miller-type" role. It is my understanding that a Miller is a Townie for whom an investigation comes back as Scum.
Right now, Septimus, you seem to be banging the "I'm a Townie" drum rather loudly.
@Renata: I think you are correct regarding a Mason painting a target on his or her back.

I wasn't saying the mason's own back, that's a given. I was pointing out it might increase the danger to Mental Guy as well, which might not be as obvious.

Perhaps a "Miller-type" role is godfather who is Scum that investigates as Town. ;D (Ed did say he thinks he investigates as Town.) Last game I played with special ed I thought he was Scum, but he was the town Doctor. Maybe I'm just easily spooked by Ed. Maybe my opinions should all just be ignored. I have no knowledge of who's who. My accusers and the lynch candidate are all players I thought were Town! ( LightFoot should have seen the sign Sign and Wonder that renata saw, but she too seems ambivalent. ) Best may be to just blurt out my silly little special power and get it over with. But I have RL issues right now, and will write again after several hours.

I am no miller.
I should investigate as Town as far as I am aware.
What I was trying to convey is that my role is about as beneficial as a miller. That is, my role is in itself, anti-Town.

@Greedy Smurf, Joanie, and Scuzzlebutt:
Are we going to hear from you toDay? Even Captain Pinkies looks loquacious in comparison.
@Septimus: I hope your RL issues are not too serious. I'd really like to hear more (or something) about your mysterious power.

I'd really like to hear more (or something) about your mysterious power. I am here. Just able to read from page 1. I am most suspicious of Septimus. I am cautious of someone who throws around the "i am town" campaign. I have seen a handful of times where the term "scum-hunting" has been used. It just does not sit well with me. I feel good about Ed and Mentalguy claims after reading most all the posts. I am going to have to look at voting patterns and when they vote and or when they change their votes.

No way for me to tell if it helps anyone. OR where it came from.

First of all, an apology: I had an MRI a couple of hours ago, and in order to survive my claustrophobia I was given 1 mg of Xanax. Ergo, I'm a little loopy, and after this won't be posting until tomorrow morning when the drugs wear off. Which specific comment was this? I wasn't paying too much attention to what commenters on FCOD's claim were saying to each other. I meant the one I quoted when I voted Suburban Plankton toDay -- where he agrees with me that people "might" have reason to leave the hotel, and then also observes that Bill flipping Town meant FCOD's power wouldn't detect Scum as Scum. I dunno; I really can't articulate it at the moment, I'm sorry, but between that and his post that I attributed to scuzzlebutt (and therefore voted scuzzlebutt for on accident on Day One)...I just don't like Plankton's play. And I'm going to bed.
