I agree with gnarly that Players are coming up with bizarre hypotheses. Dizzy -- probably, just as she says, in a Covenant with a single member -- is the Traitor?? What would it even mean to be traitor to a single-member Covenant? Something like Pulleeeze. Give Storyteller a little more credit than that. swammi, who else did you clear as traitor? My Watching has been rather unsuccessful. I've caught glimpses only of you and of Chameleon. I've explained how, with cooperation from anyone who wants to prove he/she is not the Traitor, I can run the test easily (assuming only that no Blocker operates). If Abstain wanted to Prove he's not Traitor but has no Power that can be Watched, perhaps someone would give him a potion he could use toNight. But two of the prime Traitor suspects -- Meeko and Abstain -- pretend my claim is a lie, refuse to cooperate and, absurdly, vote to Lynch me. The role PM part I didn't post earlier: Welcome to the Game; you are Darkdiver GrandahlYou are a very, very, very old man. You are an explorer by vocation, but you have nothing in common with the vagabonds and wanderers who poke around in jungles and valleys in search of colored stones or broken swords. You are a seeker of the Dark; you have spent your long life plumbing the lightless depths of the Dark Chasm - a place beyond the ordinary world. You have seen things that would turn the hardest warrior pale. But now... you have grown old. You are infirm; your legs no longer work and the magic you relied upon is faded to a thin shadow. You no longer dare venture much further than just below the surface of the Chasm. You have no interest in fading away yourself, no matter how old you might be; you must find your way to new challenges, and this war of succession seems like a likely place to begin.
A note: spending your life exploring the shadows means you see and hear things that others do not. You have learned that one player in this game is a traitor - a vile betrayer who seeks the destruction and defeat of his or her own Covenant. You know nothing about this person otherwise - but if you watch them once more from the darkness of the Abyss, you will know them. STARTING COVENANT: Pilgrims of the Dark (Non-Hostile) STARTING SOULS: xx STARTING SOAPSTONES: xx ABILITIES- From the Dark (Active - 3 souls) – Human: Venture into the Abyss and, from its shadow, Watch a target of your choice by Night. You will see all who visit your target and what they do. As a bonus, you cannot be targeted by your target in any way. SPECIAL NOTE: If the Vile Betrayer should visit your target, you will know that he or she is among the visitors. Hollow: You will still see those who visit your target, but not learn what they do.

swammer how do you know someone with a town id attacked you? I don't. In my post I blamed a "Town Vigilante" because it seemed unlikely Scum would attack me. In fact, Meeko, who Investigates as Town, claimed "credit" for the attack. In other news, my Internet is very flakey again: I may have difficulty making timely responses. My provider, Fly-by-Night Wifi, blames collisions from an unknown rogue router but I'm too ignorant to understand exactly what that means. If these problems continue I'll need to seek an alternate Internet provider long-term.

So you are confirming that I was indeed investigated? That Colby is indeed an Investigator? Yes, and yes. Cookies knows the Gnarly Power that I know about and is welcome to post it -- I'm off to bed. Guiri also should have figured it out from all my hints, but feigns ignorance. For now, I'll mention just one hint I got from the PM Gnarly sent me: he seemed in doubt what alignment Guiri was. ... And speaking of guiri, he's looking Scummier and Scummier by process of elimination. This is not a new conclusion on my part; Guiri has not been playing as the Townie Guiri I remember. Perhaps his claimed Power is true, but that's a Power Scum might have. His treatment of Chameleon (querying rather than moving quickly to Lynch) might indeed be what Scum would do. Perhaps he was deciding whether to "Track" her. Or perhaps the whole role and actions he claimed were a clever concoction. Vote: Guiri I thought Bufftabby healed me, I'd no idea it was Gnarly. Why did you ask him to heal you when you would have healed yourself the following Night? I shared my N1 result with you on D2, remember? You weren't bothered by my approach to Chameleon before, we're you? And yes, by process of elimination I should be at or near the top of everyone's suspect list until I'm lynched, investigated, or turn up dead, that's mafia. Welcome to the Game; you are Stone Trader ChloanneYou are a wanderer. You've traveled down to the poison pools of Harvest Valley and up to the very peaks of the Dragon Aerie... and because the undead curse is affecting your memory and you were never all that together in the first place, you then traveled down to the poison pools of Harvest Valley and up to the very peaks of the Dragon Aerie, and down to the poison pools of Harvest Valley and up... well, you get the idea. You've collected a number of curious artifacts in your journey, and they constitute the extent of your power. You drifted onto the Way of the Blue not out of any particular conviction, but because a small squirrel lead you in that direction: who knows where the next squirrel might lead? Have you seen any squirrels? I lost my Special Covenant Power when I joined the Company of Champions, but I still have my Personal Power. I don't know if we need to Lynch a single Player or two (Scum and Traitor), but my Watching Power allows me to determine whether a Player is the Traitor or not.Suspect Traitors include (in roughly decreasing order of likelihood) Meeko, Guiri, Bufftabby, Abstain, Sinjin. If any of these Players wants me to confirm that he/she is NOT the Traitor please PM me, after Dusk, with your Night action. Without souls I will not be taking an action.

I make it, unofficially: Meeko (3): sinjin, cookies, dizzy Swammi(2): Meeko, abstain Guiri(1): swammi Dizzy(1): Colby No vote(3): Guiri, Gnarly, Bufftabby Dizzy, Gnarly, have you attacked any players in this game? Dizzy, can you recruit? There were at least three separate attacks yesterDay, Meeko has claimed one but who's responsible for the other two? Story, can you repost the D6 color?Colby, how do you reconcile your result on Dizzy with your vote?

I would rather you confirm that Meeko is or is not the traitor. Abstain and I confirm each other. Is Traitor Mason really so unlikely? Isn't this a relatively common mechanic? I think Mason, whose main Power is to influence a Townie, might be a likely place for Traitor! Anyway, I can't check for Treason without cooperation from the suspect. Assuming we don't Lynch Meeko toDay, we should Lynch him toMorrow if he refuses to cooperate. We have time to negotiate the small matter of fee. I won't ask Meeko to ante up but, to encourage Ms. Dizzy of Blood to make a pro-Town payment, I'll improve my offer to her: Dizzy, For just a single Soul -- that's right, just one little Soul -- I'll promise not to Kill you! So you have a killing power now? That you're willing to use or not use as currency dictates? I don't like this one bit. vote swammerdamiI have a theory: Swammerdami didn't join WotB because he can't. That would make sense of why he would turn down the offer, and then tell us about it. He didn't want to run the risk of the Town recruiter being the first to announce that he had declined to join WotB. The Traitor can only join non-WotB covenants, and retains an additional wincon to whatever covenant he joins, rendering him WotB-hostile even if he joins a non-hostile covenant. To win, he must satisfy the wincon of his new covenant, and WotB must lose. I don't know the wincon of the Champions to know if this makes sense in light of that, but I do know one of them has assisted me (at a price, but a price I was most willing to pay), so I'm not leaning toward hostile on that covenant overall. Meeko as also been most helpful to my continued existence, and the PM he posted is what he sent to Colby and I as well.

With flakey Internet I'd best finalize my vote now.
Unvote: guiri
Vote: Meeko
And, bufftabby, is my joking so hard to recognize? If I could Kill Dizzy and was silly enough to think such crude extortion would work, might I not have used a private message?

Welcome to the Game; you are Grave Warden AgdayneYou are a guardian of the crypt, a Fenito. You weave death, and watch over the dead. Countless dead rest in peace beneath the blanket of your protection, cradled by the comfort of dark. Some of them from ages long ago. Some were rich, others poor. Some wise, some dull, but now, they are all just deadWdead. In the strictest sense, so are you, of course, which makes you tireless and implacable in pursuit of those who would disturb the sleep of your charges. You joined the Way of the Blue because the Chosen undead seemed like the best, most peaceful choice to fill the throne of Drangleic, and you have vowed to keep a close eye on the Chosen to ensure their success against those who would disturb the dead.STARTING COVENANT: The Way of the BlueSTARTING SOULS: XXXX STARTING SOAPSTONES: XXXX ABILITIES- The Hunt of the Dead (Active - 2 souls) – Human: Target any player with this ability by Night; you will learn what your target does or has done during that cycle (whether by Day or by Night), and who his or her target(s) were. Hollow: Your ability now costs you 3 souls to use, and will reveal only what your target does and not who he or she targets.
The typo is original to the PM. I have used my power to target Meeko N2 (he did nothing), mentalguy N3 (he targeted Patricia D3), I targeted Abstain N4, (he targeted Peeker N4), I was blocked N5 (thanks for the assist, gnarly). I missed submitting targets N1 and N6. Re-reading my PM and looking at results, I should have gotten results on what Abstain actually did when he targeted Peeker, (and less relevant now, what mentalguy did when he targeted Patricia) but I didn't. I wasn't hollowed until the end of Day 5.

Bufftabby did you get the right colors for voting?
----
I breadcrumbed the entire squirrel thing. I said I would follow "Sandy Bucca" on Twitter. Bucca = Cheek.
Sandy Cheeks is the squirrel from spongebob. I figured it was stealth enough, for those knowing to look for it, to find it, you know?
However, as nothing came from it, I figure it was ... And still remains pure color. That is I don't think squirrels as such are in the game.
I won't be able to get back to the game for another four hours. My vote stands as is.
Go town, just in case.

1. Day is extended to the full 5 days, and will end on Friday, September 26 at 12:30PM.
2. I will be back with a vote count, and catch up on responses to your various PM questions, this evening after dinner.
3. I am immensely gratified to see participation picking up - this may be the first game of all time where the game was more active on Day 7 than on Day 1!

Vote: Swammer Why do you want to get rid of non-hostile groups? I can't get my mind around that. The gamestate devolved into Meeko V Swammerdami. Doubtful we will get out of this rut. Therefore, and rightfully so, a Townie should be preserved over one that has not only rejected town recruitment. But announced it. Or you know, outright threatened to Kill someone, after stating they were merely a watcher...... Albeit with a very confused claim.

I thought Day was over, but learn that I'm to be tortured for another 48 hours and then Killed. Thanks. I suppose I should plea for Voters to come to their senses, though I doubt it will do any good. There is still a Traitor at large, who almost certainly Investigates as Town, and possibly another regular Scum. If there is a Scum ge'd have to be guiri or gnarly by elimination, but I get very strong vibes from Gnarly. More likley is that we need to Lynch the Traitor, perhaps only the Traitor. I have the one Power that can surely find Traitors ... and you want to Lynch me so I can't use it. It's not necessary that the Traitor cooperate. It's enough that non-Traitors, eager to clear themselves, cooperate. Lack of Souls or gimmicks can keep someone from acting even if he wants to, but there must be some gimmicks or Souls available. I think Dizzy and Cookies both have Souls; they could show their pro-Town credentials by, for example, each sending 1 Soul to a suspect who needs two Souls to act ... to act in demonstration of his Non-Treason. Guiri voted to Lynch me because Meeko is WotB and I'm not. That may make some sense, though if it's the Town Traitor whose death is needed, we need to Lynch Town suspects, not 3rd-parties.But others voted me because they think I'm guilty. Why? Each voter may have a different scenario in mind, but none of them make much sense. One voter claims I'm the Traitor (to a Survivor win-con!), but declined invitations to join WotB and Royal Rats in order to finally join, as Traitor a 3rd Party Covenant. Please flesh out this theory: Did I invent the related parts of my role PM? Why have I been pushing Treason so hard? Would the role make sense? Most or all of these various hypotheses are too illogical to fight with logic but, just to entertain me, may I ask those voting me to place their detailed hypothesis on record over the next day and a half? One Player voted me because of my joking attempt to extort souls from Dizzy. Attempts at wry humor have cost me before, so that's on me. I would like a show of hands though -- How many realized that was just Swammi's wry way of joking? More than anything else, I think I'm being charged with posting too much, and using long multi-paragraph chains of logic. This is lesson I should have learned by now: To survive in a Mafia Game I should post minimally, with short single-sentence reasons given for any Lynch votes. Actually that is how I play -- when I'm Scum. When Town or 3rd Party playing pro-Town, I try to contribute -- my mistake I guess. So, unVoting me is pro-Town but I don't expect it to happen. What I do ask is that my Lynchers go on record with the reasons why they suspect -- consistent reasons compatible with my claims and behavior. I don't expect any of the reasons to make much sense, but at least it will be a record for Townies to inspect toMorrow.

Complete with line numbers. I. Kinda like this. 2.Meeko also finds talking in third person helps Meeko out a lot too. C.Mix things up now and then, by posting something that you know is a refrence everyone will get. I. Facepalm once you realize how many people actually don't follow you. So, you're happy with Cookies who helped you, and therefore Town, but want to Lynch me. I'm going to break confidence slightly and post excerpts from PM's that Cookies and I exchanged. I'm sure Cookies will confirm that these are accurate. I think I should give you the *S**S ***S* ... ... Have you thought of e-mailing Bufftabby and asking if she wants to buy the ***S*? I think an offer should come from you rather than me, but I suppose if you sell the ***S* while I'm in possession of it, and I gift it to fulfill your order, that might be OK. Go ahead and Lynch me. Just know that the gift of the *s**s ***s* which makes you trust my Mistress was suggested by her apprentice. (ETA: By "e-mail" I obviously meant "PM" but I've left the original text intact.)

I would like a show of hands though -- How many realized that was just Swammi's wry way of joking? Surely you don't mean me? I've been pretty vocal about my distrust of you and my theory that you are indeed the Traitor prior to your ill-timed joke. You can keep trying to handwave away your voters by accusing us of illogicality, but my suspicions of you still make perfect sense to me.
