Oh, and I'm going to be on Costume pub crawl this afternoon. The pub crawl been around for something like 14 years (though, this will only be my third year on it). Liz and I will be going as Betty Paige and a WWII soldier.
So I probably won't be around again until sometime Sunday.

Does anyone still make drop biscuits? I vaguely recall my mom making them once. But those were drop cookies. Unless your referring to the British term "biscuit" which is cookies in the States. But then, I didn't think you Texans used British terms for things. Actually we have a lot of "Britishisms" here. The most notable being: Y'all (pronouned Yaaawwwlll). Howdy. And of course, "I voted for Dub and am damn proud". The latter is truly being directed at the Crown these days.

Does anyone still make drop biscuits? If that's similar to drop scones then yes, once and since that unfortunate episode I've bought them from the shops instead. As for booty calls, they really exist and are extremely convenient for people who like to keep custody of their remote control, not have to bother dressing for dinner and would rather get home to watch Boston Legal than all that cuddling crap. Don't worry about the delapidated bod Peek - most people I know who're into it are well past their prime On a serious note there doesn't seem to be much discussion going on since Pollux outed Darth so I'll probably vote before bedtime if it stays like this - no point prolonging the Day unecessarily.

Absolutely like a scone. Just not as sweet and a little lighter. I do mine on a cast iron skillet. Plop 'em in and bake at about 425 for 20 minutes. Make a ton of sausage gravy, slather and serve. That way they are still a wee bit doughy in the middle but are crunchy. And fluffy on the outer parts. How do you prepare your calamari to keep it from being rubbery? I've got one answer but want to see if it is congruent with others. After this we should talk puff pastry because homemade that's a bytche.

[Alton Brand]Good Eats[/Alton Brand] When you make scrambled eggs do you do nothing, add a touch or milk or cream or add water (shudder). The nothing is kind of deconstructed. The water seems incongruentally trying to mix fat and water. Creates small pockets of steam, basically. Oh boy, here comes my steamed protein. The milk/cream seems to be the best. Bonding fat molecules joining to be greater than the sum of their parts. That's how I'd go, personally. NEXT UP: Lunch

I just made a second pot of coffee. It is fucking awesome. I tell you the pk3 and pk4 are running for the hills. They know that there is some serious cleaning coming forth. Hook 'em Horns.

Gotta agree with you there: Vote Darth SensitiveSorry Peek - don't cook eggs in any shape or form. I have an aversion to them after being force fed them in large quantities as a small child in my parents' mistaken belief that it was a healthy thing to do (back then medical 'experts' agreed that it was) In fact I'm actually a rubbish cook which is ironic as both sons are chefs though daughter seems to take after me.

Well, you have to cook something.
I think it would be nice to share recipes while we wait for Darth to swing.
I do a great scallop and mango chutney. Followed by a Ceasar and a side of lobster bisque.
Top that baby off with grilled lamb chops, garlic taters and steamed asparagus and you are getting close.
Ensure that each course is separated by a fruit granita.
Finish with lava chocolate cake and a toffee cheese cake, strong coffee and a brandy and you are damn close.
Close it all off by eating Blue Bell ice cream of choice (out of the half gallon container) and slurping a cruddy domestic while sitting be the pool. Watching the neices and nephews use the La Crueset (sp?) boiling pots as diving helmets.
Now you are home.

And on top of that you have to have the bird and stuffing in the oven. Add some corn, squash and mac and cheese (separately, of corse). That be Holidays.
When we have a lot of folks over I will at times throw a rib roast on the grill as well. Little rosemary and some garlic and salt. Gotta be at least three ribs, five is best.
Woot Woot, dinner at the peek household.

Those were the days... I think that started the countdown. I'll check in a minute. Unfortunately, Today has stagnated. I think I'd like to get another Night under our collective belt, and see what happens. Bufftabby lass, I'm always after scum blood. It's just that a killing is so final - so I like to make sure before pushing someone over the edge. Peeker : I don't have to cook. Food in my tender care has two possible states; raw, and ruined.

Ok.
There seems to be a bunch of food challenged folks. FCS, you gotta think there is a bunch of fast food going on (shudder).
Easy, squeey,
First, a head of Romaine and some croutons and VOO and some nice balsamic vinegar. A garlic infused VOO is nice but not necessary. Take yesterdays crust and/or a heel and bake at about warm.
Get a bucket of water boiling with garlic salt.
Add Noodles. I prefer a fettucini but linguini also works. If you go spaghetti I will be seriously irked.
Take the shrimp/chicken and saute until about medium rare. Reserve.
Take the al dente noodles and drain. Add to the pot that had the shrimp/chicken.
Add butter, heavy cream and a fair amount of Asiago. Get bubbling and then add the shrimp/chicken.
Plate the salad.
Stir and serve the noodle concoction.
It takes about ten minutes. So it's quicker, cheaper, healthier and more convenient than "fast food".
Whoops, PC incorrect. An individual doing something smart. Where is the govment to re edumecate me?

Peeker I'm ashamed to say I not only burn my food but I actually burnt my oven about 2 years ago and it's been broken ever since. The worst thing is that being without it has had little or no impact on my life whatsoever. My hob still works though and if it makes you feel better I make the best macaroni cheese in the whole universe MHaye yes, I remember that saying! My god, looks like the three oldest members are the only ones in this weekend while all the young whippersnappers are out partying.

The above is the tenth vote on Darth Sensitive. A 12-hour countdown begins with this post, which was made at 1:01PM EST. I can't promise I'll be awake at 1:00AM - I'm awfully tired - but I can end the Day early (say, 11:00AM) if there is general consensus that it'd be a good idea.

It's okay, I drink enough coffee for the both of us. Tell me you don't drink beer, so I can drink your share of that, too!
(We're at the tail end of the countdown, and it's nighttime here, so I'm gonna treat this as a license to fluff.)
I'm watching Halloween: Resurrection, and it's really not very good. I should stick with zombie movies. Slashers just aren't my cup of coffee. Although the original Halloween and the Rob Zombie remake are pretty alright.
Beer? Horror movies? Anyone?
