Finally coming out of the warp pipe, you all find yourself back in the Mushroom Kingdom...but what's this?
It seems that half of your group is missing. Where'd the other half of the players go?
Oh no...
You all fear the worst....
It can only be...
Yes, they must have accidently been thrown into the Minus World. That happens sometimes, albeit rarely. Unfortuntely none of you can do anything about it. And, as everyone knows, it takes about a full Day to get out of the Minus World and back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Looks like the game goes on without them for now.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are now two different groups playing the game, Group A (which is this group) and Group B (the group stuck in the Minus World). The two groups were split using Random.org.
It will be like this until Night Four. You will not know what Group B is doing, what they are talking about, who they are voting for, or anything else going on in that group's game. Consequently neither will they know anything about what's going on in this group.
On Night Four, however, both the forums will be unlocked, everyone will be able to catch up on the previous Day's posts and events...and everyone will see who has been lynched. Since there are two, separate groups that means there will be two lynches. You will be made aware who the other group has lynched come Night Four. You guys, however, can only vote for people who are in this group.
For now, you will have to all make do with what you've got. The Warp Pipe has disappeared so you cannot go back and look at previous Days or Nights. However the previous Days and Nights still exist and you will gain access to them again when Night Four starts. The other group has this exact same message, with a few changes to color and wording specific to their group.
If anyone from this group somehow finds their way into the other group and posts anywhere in there before Night Four, they will be modkilled immediately.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we last left our SMB characters...
Everyone pounced on Peekercpa. They hung him by the neck until dead, but before he died, he opened his mouth and...
....let out a huge egg.
Peekercpa AKA Birdo, Town, is no more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is now Night. Everyone who has a Night action, feel free to get it in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Because Day Four is going to dawn early and last longer than any Day has in the history of mafia.
Night Three will end Tomorrow at 5PM MST. So about 21 hours from now.

Think of it this way: You're playing in a regular game..but just with the players in the player list topic above. Forget the other half of the players for now.

Idle you're evil and quite possibly insane. On the plus side we don't have to drink pede's disgusting drinks. On the minus side the people I was more likely to vote for are in the other world. Plus, my memory's really not good enough to remember everything that went on the last few Days! It's 4am here so I'll be getting to bed and see if it all makes more sense in the morning

Well, since I've been diagnosed with an SMI (Serious Mental Illness) in real life, you could say I was insane, yes. : )

Fascinating and fun. OK, we can work with this. It's going to be hard as holy fuck, but we can work with it.

If I were insane, I would have left it with: You can vote for anyone in the game, even if they're NOT in your group. Then nobody would have known who else is voting for who until the vote count showed it. Now THAT would have been insane, fun, facinating, interesting... ..and very b/gastard-ish. The way it is now, it's just two separate games, really. Just for one Day (Day Four--although Day Four is going to last a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long time).

Serious time now. =P
Depending on the distribution of scum and town this could be very good or very bad for us.
Idle, did you make any effort when randomizing results to split the scum pfks, and town relatively evenly, or is there a possibility that, say, one of the two groups is only town, no scum?
Let's hope it's the former--anything that gives us a chance at bagging two bad guys if we get our shit together is worth the inconvenience/confusion.

Plus, my memory's really not good enough to remember everything that went on the last few Days! I'm with you on that - it is going to be easy for someone to manipulate when we can't go back and quote the exact word or phrase. It also means that it is very important that we all participate in this very long Day (where we might assume that we all have a limited access to the game). And (IMO the worst with this split) we don't have any chance to use this very long (and assumed slow) Day 4 to give us the time (some of us) needed to re-read :-(

No, I didn't. Yes, it's entirely possible. Anything is possible because it was left purely up to random.org, so whatever results it spewed out. However since it's only lasting for one Day, it shouldn't be too bad. : )

I gotta admit, I'm not a fan of this. But it's only one Day, so I'll suck it up.
I have no idea where to go from here. Any information we could have gathered from the peeker lynch is not available now. It's in a lot of ways Day 1 all over again, only with less people and vague gut feelings that we can't back up. Plus with the holiday about to hit, I feel like I'm floundering.
Idle, what does this split mean for Daybreak? Will we find out who, if anyone, is killed, regardless of which side? That is, will we find out if someone from the other side is killed, and will they find out if someone from this side is killed? Plus things like the weather changing, will that cross sides?[/color]

Yes. You will all find out. Both groups will find out at the same time who it was and get the same color, wording, everything. Even down to the same times being posted.

You will learn who is lynched at the end of Day Four over there when both groups merge again. They will learn at the end of Day Four who was lynched here when both groups merge again.
As for other, random kills in the game, I cannot answer because to answer would confirm or deny there being any kind of Daykillers in the game. You'll (and they'll) just have to find out when both groups are merged again (end of Day Four) and read each other's Night Threes and Day Fours.
It will be Night Four when that happens. Start of. So plenty of time to catch up and read. Plus the topics shouldn't be that long since there are only half the numbers posting AND the holidays are coming up so it'll be slower posting.
Night Four will not be short like this Night is....so good catch up time then.

First, I'll be in the minority and say that I kind of like this development. It adds some spice, and if we play it properly, it could be very valuable. I wonder, but suspect that Idle will not tell us, whether the Scum get more than one kill toNight.
Now, the past three Days are not accessible, but neither are they completely gone; we can restructure them to some degree. We have lots of time here: let's use it.
Each player, please indicate for whom you voted on Day Three, if anyone.
I voted for Mr. Special Ed

I gotta say, this presents difficulties. Without access to the past threads, it's going to be very difficult to articulate past suspicions clearly. Zeriel is right that we run the risk of manipulation by scum... we also run the risk of having a Towny shoot their mouth off, and appear to have been misrepresenting, when in actuality they just misremembered. Best play for both sides will probably be to avoid referencing past actions at all, and thats going to kill conversation.
But if we allow for a misremembering Towny, we're opening the door for manipulating scum, too.
Thoughts?

I expect we can avoid the problem by everyone being careful about what assertions they make, and everyone else being equally careful about the size of the grain of salt they take everything said about past Days with. I too was a Mr Special Ed voter.

I've always played off the cuff, regardless of my alignment. I don't take notes and I don't go back and re-read, unless I'm trying to make a specific point. I don't think this development affects me, personally.

I was a DBI-voter
Idle: Can scum (if any bla bla bla) talk in the scum thread if they are in separate groups? Or can scum (if any bla bla bla) in this group talk to eachother?

I was a DBI voter. This does make an interesting twist though I'd be happier if I was with a different set of players. Not that I don't think you're all cool but I'd have been very unlikely to vote any of you toMorrow under normal circumstances. Re the peek lynch, with the number of votes he garnered, most of them will have been town. In fact there may not have been any scum on that wagon though I am definitely going to take another look once the board's are open again. Mr Ed's finally pinging me...I said it always took me a while to find him suspicious (I blame his abnormally long tongue lol). pede - I'm quite bemused by his claim. It doesn't sound well thought out enough to be a scum ploy. PFK maybe or just a really bad idea. And you all know I think DBI is scum Good point about whether scum can talk still. I don't see how the whole group can talk but it's possible if more than one are in either world they can talk to each other. Presumably the same would go for masons if any.

All (if any) scum can talk on the scum boards still, yes.
