I was under the impression that the weather and the win conditions were two separate things. Is this incorrect? It reads to me, based on the info provided by Mitey, and the Mod-confirmed weather change and win condition change, that Mitey has basically been told, "The weather is going to change, if you want to decide what to change it to, let me know. The win condition is also going to change, you have no control over it, but in the color I'm going to tie it to the weather change and tell everybody that Mallow did it." We know the win condition changed. We know the weather changed. Mitey has admitted to being able to control the weather. The question at hand, to my mind, is whether or not Mitey/Mallow is telling the truth about being unable to control the win condition as well. Mitey says she changed the weather. We have no idea if this is true or not. All we know is that the weather and the win condition changed. If she has no control over the win condition change, as she has stated, then there should be no reason for her not to change the weather and tell us in advance what that change will be. This will verify a bit of her story. I don't know how we will be able to verify "the truth about being unable to control the win condition" short of killing her. If she does nothing as zeriel suggests we learn nothing.

The question at hand, to my mind, is whether or not Mitey/Mallow is telling the truth about being unable to control the win condition as well. Ah, my bad. I was under the impression the two things were directly linked, rather than indirectly. I misunderstood the last PM she quoted, where Idle confirms that she can directly control the weather but has no control over the win condition. Also, many here were under the impression that she could stop the win condition from changing, particularly NAF and Rugger. So, yeah, color me completely confused over why the role is set up that way, but I understand now why people are encouraging her not to change the weather. But personally, I think she should make it rain donuts. Or stars. Or coins. Or something specific. That will indicate that she can change the weather and it's not Idle. So if I understand the role now, each night she must do two things that are indirectly linked: 1) Change the weather to something of her choosing, because that's at the whim of how she expresses her emotions. 2) Change the win condition, which she can't control. So yeah, I'll be actually surprised if our win condition doesn't change tomorrow based on that.

Eh, sinjin, I think her ability or inability to hold the weather steady tells us just as much--several of us are theorizing the weather is actually mod-related, if you'd care to read.
Frankly, I don't really care either way--I could see where holding the weather as it is would tell us something, I could see where changing the weather to something outlandish would tell us something.
It's up to Mitey to sound off before day dawns, though.

Mitey has claimed that she can determine the weather, but not the win condition. It's been hinted at that the win condition will change every day...
So in order for Mitey to prove that her weather choice isn't related to the win condition, we're going to have a see a Day where one changes and the other doesn't. Since she claims to have no control over the win condition, I'm asking her to show us control over the weather, by not changing it.
She can also prove control over the weather by changing it, and telling us in advance what it's going to be, but this does nothing to to disassociate the weather and the win condition, and thats really what we need to determine. The weather is color, and doesn't matter at all if it isn't tied to win condition. Thats what I'm asking her to prove.
Mitey, please request that the weather stay exactly the same.

I advocate Mitey doing one of the following and announcing which she does:
(1) Tell Idle to keep the weather the same. This will confirm if the weather change and the win condition change are actually linked or not.
(2) Choose a bizarre weather change (like the raining doughnuts suggestion). This should confirm that Mitey* can change the weather (since no change or a conventional weather condition could be a mod decision).
*Or somebody, at least. If Mitey's part of a scum group or has a PFK partner, it could be another player who has the actual power.
Based on Idle's "Anything (powers or otherwise), that one knows about, that has any barring on the outcome of the game", it's likely that somebody has an unconscious power, and again, either Mitey has it, or knows who does.

Ok, I see what you guys are saying. But I think you are making some bad assumptions. If, as you suggest, the weather and win conditions are mod-controlled it doesn't necessarily follow that they will be changed by the mod on a daily basis. So if Mitey says she does nothing and nothing happens we still learn nothing. We will learn something if the weather or the win condition do change, but I don't want to bet on that.

She needs for one to change and not the other for us to begin trusting her, and we stand to learn the most if the weather stays and the win condition changes. I'm not suggesting that the weather or win conditions are mod controlled, Mitey has claimed that the weather is hers to control, but not the win condition. We're asking her to prove that.

Actually, I'd prefer that you keep the weather exactly like it is, please. If the win condition changes but the weather doesn't, I'm less likely to want to lynch you Tomorrow. As cool as a hurricane would sound, this plan has much more merit. Never mind. I'd advise the hurricane, but here's my advice. As long as you tell us what you are going to do beforehand, I don't care what you do specifically.

I agree that " Mallow" should change the weather and tell us in advance what change she is making. That would at least confirm a bit of what she's said. A couple of questions for Mallow: 1) Do you have a set list of weather conditions to pick from or can you choose any weather you want? 2) Why did you claim? 1) I can choose any weather to my understanding (but, as we've all seen, I'm a bit confused...hehehe!) 2) I claimed because I felt bad for changing the win condition. I didn't fully understand that it was not conscious and thought that there were win conditions that went with weather conditions...if that makes sense. I actually don't know that they don't at this point. I wanted some help in deciding what to do and figured that coming out early was my best bet.

OK, so who is going to claim now?
So far, we have: Shaggy (not his fault) FLOD (not intentional and not complete) mmouse (She's dead, and played it well for her role) tabby (she was going to be lynched,, this one at least makes sense) almost Mitey
that means 16 of us haven't claimed! what's wrong with you guys?
OK, I think I'm over my shock now :-)

I'm not suggesting that the weather or win conditions are mod controlled, Mitey has claimed that the weather is hers to control, but not the win condition. We're asking her to prove that. The only way for her to prove that she controls the weather is for her to actively control the weather. As far as the win condition goes, if she influences it at all, it may take us a couple of cycles to observe said influence. For example; Cycle one: Blizzard = town needs to kill all PFK's Cycle two: Hurricane = new win condition Cycle three: Blizzard = town needs to kill all PFK's

Oh, and two more SMB related fluff videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed4CHkN-Dkwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx2E6YMSFP8Now, before any of you think I'm searching for these things, I was in a music fraternity in college. I belong to both the current active members listserv and the alumni listserv. Apparently the active members are releasing some tension during finals week by finding SMB related videos. I thought it was an odd coincidence with this game. Almost serendipitous.

Here's a fun video for everyone that shows who Mallow is, what they do, where I got the idea from, and the characteristics. Mallow comes from the game Super Mario RPG for anyone who doesn't know...and he's, by far, my favorite character. Watch from the times 4:00 to 5:16 or so in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=93MuzEKRpX0Hilarious. I LOVE MALLOW.

Probably because each PFK lynch brings us closer to lylo. Uh...Lylo means Lynch or Lose. FoS HoopyFroodHow hard is it to comprehend that PFK lynches tilt the number in scum's favor. Have you ever seen a PFK that won by controlling the vote? Have you ever seen a scum team that didn't win by controlling the vote? Do you really think that our win condition is not going to change again? It's not that hard to understand why pedescribe said what he did. I understood his point, even if I didn't exactly agree with it, because with our current win condition, it was good for us. But it does bring us closer to lylo should our win condition change, and there is no reason to expect it won't.

I think we made the right decision yesterDay and I really think Might may be telling the truth about her allignment despite all the confusion though I'm not sure quite how to explain why I think that.
