Oh yeah? Does the cavity have to go into my teeth or can I save it up and give it to someone later?

*Hands out more candyfloss.* So where does the term "candyfloss" come from? Over on this side of the Atlantic we call it cotton candy, since it's consistency is similar to cotton and well, it's candy. Every time I see candyfloss I think of flossing my teeth with sugar.

Yeah, I thought of that peppermint-flavored floss. Hence my somewhat-confusion about pede's joke.
Raise your hand if you're from the U.K.!

@ Høøpy Frøød: I just love your new avatar - to cool for words. Thank you. I blatantly stole it from a member at the message board Chucara and I administer, and that poster in turn stole it from some other forum she saw it at. It amused me greatly when I first saw it, so I figured I'd use it over here as my default avatar.

Aren't candy necklaces and candyfloss the same thing?
You and Chucara administrate a message board?

Aren't candy necklaces and candyfloss the same thing? Nope. Candy floss is what the Brits call cotton candy. Yep. Chucara actually does the real work since he has to keep the board running. I just sit on my ass as head admin (and the two other moderating admins do pretty much the same thing). It's a fairly small community, particularly when compared to its heyday (before my time). I recruited Chucara from there when story needed another player in Marvel. He's decided to stick around.

Suddenly it's clear why Pollux Oil sounded like a bunch of random movie quotes. You know, I wanted to go with "Anyone who isn't dead or from another plane of existence would do well to cover their ears right about now." but noooooo. You and your stupid veto powers. Stay thy tongue, sir! I'll have you know my mother is a saint!

Raise your hand if you're from the U.K.! *Raises hand.* Hoopy has it right. As for asking me where the word comes from? Don't ask me. When you're a youngster (say infant school age) your Dad shoves this stick wrapped with a volume of fluffy sugar larger than your head into your hand and says "Here, have some candyfloss," you don't ask why it's called that. You just concentrate on jamming as much of the stuff into your mouth as you can.

It's called candyfloss as well in Denmark.
I liked the term "fairy floss" a lot - sounds nice (I hate candyfloss... actualy I don't like any sweets, cake or anything like that... but candyfloss is just the worst)

Yeah, why it's called "candyfloss" in the UK is a good question; especially since we don't call sweets/confectionery "candy"
Actually, my first memory of candyfloss (and I hate the stuff) isn't from my Dad giving me it, but rather my Dad giving it to my younger brother - who subsequently stuck in in my hair "oh look pink fluffy hair!" ha ha funny not!

I was wondering what candyfloss was...thankyou for the info...and I think cottoncandy is horrible! I don't know about elsewhere...but here in Lower Alabama...they package cotton candy like they do chips...so you can buy a bag whenever you want...YUK!

As the sun rises and the first few rays of light hit SpooooOOOooOoOOOoOOoky house, the entire house jumps a foot into the air knocking everyone out of bed.
Everybody stumbles bleary eyed into the main room where there's a dead body on display!
.... oh wait that's just Pollux Oil.
After a quick headcount you discover that one of the guests is missing, and after a role call everyone rushes to Pedescribe's room.
It's a good thing you did a role call because the body on the bed has been completely mutilated. Most of the damage seems to have been done by claws and teeth, however there's a knife jutting out of the center of the body. As everyone leans in closer the knife starts to glow red, and then disappears in a puff of acrid smoke.

Didn't we already establish that NAF has reasons for voting (and, for that matter, reasons for not sharing said reasons)?
I mean, it doesn't mean you have to agree with it, but you act like he's never done it before.

The course of the Day toDay might, but not yet. There was a reason? Trundles back to have a look... on reflection, since brokentree and BillMC both share only 3 votes I think it is less fair to vote brokentree than BillMC, so I am going to make that change. unvote brokentreevote billMCWe share 3 votes and is less fair to vote brokentree? I'm sure there must be some logic in there somewhere, but darned if I can see it!

ah, replace votes with posts. You were tied for lowest post count and brokentree had an explination you didn't. I see - well I won't bore you with various medical reasons. But if volume of posts is a reason to vote, then why restrict it to the fewest number of posts - why not the most? Could be an equally scummy tactic of prolific posting....which by a quick count, would put you at the top of the list - well out of those still alive. But I'd rather restrict my voting to something a little more tangible than the number of posts.

Could be an equally scummy tactic of prolific posting....which by a quick count, would put you at the top of the list - well out of those still alive. But I'd rather restrict my voting to something a little more tangible than the number of posts. I think it goes back to the point that not posting much is an anti-town action. Volume of posts are not a good indication for scumminess in of themselves. I typically am among one of the more frequent posters in most games, and I've done that as both town and scum. Peekercpa (not playing in this mini-game) is much the same way. However, by not posting, you give people little to evaluate you by, which is a huge detriment to town going into the endgame. And it's been said that unless anti-town behavior is punished, people will keep doing it. So there's always an argument about lynching low-volume posters in pretty much every game. In my opinion, it's not a bad strategy to employ, but it is (usually) a "safe" play and shouldn't be used when something better is there. Now, safe plays can be employed by scum tactically, but are only a tell when taken in a larger context. NAF's putting heat on those who haven't posted a whole lot. He's being consistent. Also, he's been very forthright about his strategy. So really, the strategy right now is a null tell, and the boldness he's shown so far, particularly in his interchange with story is a slightly townie tell.
