Day Two

E-mail, intercepted August 3
Transmission Log: Mail intercepted - 08.03.2009, 12:59 GMT Status - Undelivered From - Benjamin Urich (bu2487@att.net) To - J. Jonah Jameson (jj@bugle.com); Undisclosed Recipient (amyls@development.miramax.com)
When this is over, we need to talk about future projects. I think this thing would be perfect for a film treatment; in fact, I’m copying Amy Szabo at Miramax just to get her in on the discussion. We know that Downey is Stark, but I can see Michael Clarke Duncan as Lucas Bishop, can’t you? And we should get Jessica Alba – doesn’t much matter who she plays, am I right, JJ?
So here’s what happened today. About fifteen minutes ago, Stark comes tearing out of the barrack where he’s staying (pretty sure he commandeered the Warden’s office and private apartment, which I’m sure just shocks the crap out of you). I followed him pretty close, into the main building and into the mess hall. I think he knows I’m there, but Tony Stark never minded being followed by reporters, you know? Anyway, we go into the mess hall, and there’s a girl there in the middle of the floor. Well… most of a girl, JJ. Somebody put a crowbar through the back of her noggin – about half of the thing was sticking out her forehead. Stark checked her out, but she was beyond help. After a minute or two, she just spasmed, her eyes opened – I think she was still alive there for a minute – and then…
JJ, I don’t know how to describe it. It was like something hit me in the skull, but from the inside, you know? I could see Stark had gotten the same treatment. And then we just kind of knew who the girl on the ground was.
Kat, AKA Psylocke, who was Pro-Town (Investigative), has been murdered.
Right after we shook off the brain fart or whatever it was, we heard a bunch of loud crashing sounds, and Stark took off back toward the exercise yard. I went with him, and I think there was someone else there, too – I think Floyd might be here with the Press, dammit, but she is not stealing this story.
Anyway, the second girl came staggering out of one of the buildings, wounded in so many places you couldn’t even tell how or where. She died about three minutes later, never really getting coherent enough to share anything other than her name. What a waste.
sinjin, AKA Domino, who was also Pro-Town (Other), had her first unlucky night ever.

Day Two begins here.
The vote threshold has been set at 30%, which means it will require five votes to complete a lynch. The Day will continue until any player receives a fifth vote; the Day ends immediately at the timestamp of the fifth vote. You may continue to discuss anything you wish thereafter if I am not around to immediately end the Day, but no votes or unvotes posted after the fifth vote will count.
If you have a Day action, it must be PMed to the moderator before the fifth vote is placed on any player.
Happy lynching!

Luv's power, predictably, was as described.
Who do we want to know more about? I presume "other," but I'd love to hear input.

Yuck. Three dead townies and not much to show for it. Is it worthwhile speculating on who/what caused the second night kill? And whether the color that Kat was murdered and sinjin was unlucky means anything?
I'm going to start toDay just where I left off yesteRday:
Vote: Special Ed

Given Story's predisposition to "fairness" it's unlikely that both were scum kills, so it's fair to assume that we have a town vig or a pfk/sk out there.

Inner, This was my post on day one. I don't think much has changed. Though, I would certainly be willing to change my vote if a more scummy candidate came along. OK, so I decided I wanted to vote.
I looked at our low posters.
Nanook was one of them. A very short post talking about pseudo votes. But Nanook is usually very quiet. He'll have well thought out posts with good reasoning as the Day wears on. UNfortunatley, since we're on pace to end this Day in 2011, I'm not sure we'll get much more from him before June.
Texcat had 3 posts all about pseudo voting and hammer and they made me yawn.
Pollux was one of them, and PCM was another. In fact, PCM voted for Pollux. And the case was a weak Day 1 case. But most Day 1 cases are weak. And as far as weak Day 1 cases are, it wasn't so bad.
So, let's get this party started. I can both vote for a low poster AND get someone into the vote lead at Threshhold-5! Vote: Pollux Oil This really looks like a scum post. Smudge as many people as possible and then vote for the one who might get a bandwagon rolling. Vote: Special Ed
peek, Do you have a reason for defending Ed? Are you trying to get me to change my vote to you? ok tex you busted me. i am quivering under your insightful observation. yes, i admit i am defending ed because he is scum and so am i. i just can't see a team mate going down without some sort of fight from me. the above was intended to be tongue in cheek. just as long is there is no connection between mine and ed's tongue and cheeks, donchaknow. and if ed's tongue ever gets close to my cheeks i will definitely call foul and never play again.

Luv's power, predictably, was as described. Who do we want to know more about? I presume "other," but I'd love to hear input. So did the autopsy reveal who the Green Goblin is? And yeah Domino seems like the better choice of investigation. From the wikipedia article she apparently had luck-related powers so the thing about "bad luck" could just be color, or it could be an indication of a power backfiring.

No GG identity, unfortunately.
I'm posting from my phone for the near future. Can someone with the capability to do so easily go back to the end of Day One and check something for me? I seem to recall peeker saying something prior to his hammer vote about thinking luv was Town. I just don't have the energy to go searching for it on my cell phone screen.

so close, so very close.
couple of thoughts before i hit the post apocalypse version of hell. that's right i am going shopping with peekkids today.
first, i see no way that a scum can be recruitable. that would be game breaking.
second, i see no way that recruitment will be done in the normal way.
third, there has to be recruitment, for this purpose i will choose to define that this is a choice on where to place allegiance.
fourth, if 3 is correct there are a number of participants that may freely choose on which side to ally.
fifth, that number can not be large, else all could choose scum in which case see 1.
i know that i am town as well luvbwfc (where in the world did that come from?) but i will not choose to place a vote on you because i, at this point, see that would be merely self serving. i have said this before and will say again. i only play for my team to win. ipso fucto, if you are town then lynching you would be against my interests. and to be honest at this point you seem to be less likely to be scum than others.
i can at least help you with your request.

[oog] luvbwfc proclaims an alliegance to a particular football team (fc = Football Club). No names, no pack drill (as they say). [/oog] DrainBead, in your place I'd investigate Sinjin rather than Kat, because knowing Kat's exact abilities won't yield any extra information. Since this is Day 2, Kat probably won't have had a chance to receive a result from her power use before she got killed, thus could not have breadcrumbed it. Knowing what her power was helps in only one way; it closes off the possibility that an ARR 1 might guess the role and false claim it. I think that risk is small, and we'll learn more from checking Domino out. 1Anti-registration recidivist.

Peeker posted in Night One: you probably want a different color. blue for dead town. and something else for could be town but might not be in the future. i'd suggest tom get to choose since he fits that description for now. Followed immediately by this post: tom, i wouldn't be surprised if it was just you and me as town at this point. bunch of gd third parties bastards trying to butter their toast on both sides. Why do you still think Tom Scud is recruitable and then immediately post you sure he's town? You also tried Yesterday to get Tom to tell more about him being immune to recruitment - why the doubt now? so close, so very close. <big snip> i know that i am town as well luvbwfc (where in the world did that come from?) but i will not choose to place a vote on you because i, at this point, see that would be merely self serving. i have said this before and will say again. i only play for my team to win. ipso fucto, if you are town then lynching you would be against my interests. and to be honest at this point you seem to be less likely to be scum than others. This is an exact repost of this post you made at the end of Day One why you wouldn't vote him. Yet you still hammered luvbwfc. Was your vote bought Yesterday? Do you have a post restriction? Or are you just crazy?

ok, that wasn't fair or nice.
to be honest i felt like luv did.
i know that i am town, i felt that he most likely was town (moist likely). but i figured the percentage was to play in town's best interest and get rid of a most likely as opposed to having you vultures get rid of a for sure.
plus yesterDay lasted for fucking ever. if someone doesn't get the stones to pull the trigger we could be screwing around until next year. sorry, i had the stones. it was time to move onward. with mhaye and ed grunting i just figured to finish it off.
and i did vote him.
plus, i think i am postulating something about recruitment. not quite sure.
you still place faith in canon?

plus, i think i am postulating something about recruitment. not quite sure. you still place faith in canon? If you're referring to Iron Man then no, I'm relying on the fact the moderator declared him town and that Tom Scud said that he has as power that he's not recruitable. It was Pollux Oil who brought up the color speculation before he did that, but I agreed more with the reasoning that making an Obvious Town recruitable on Day One seemed very unlikely. Why did you repost your reasoning not to vote luv? Or was that the 'not quite sure' part?

Jan 3, 2010 16:13:36 GMT -5
Post by peekercpa on Jan 3, 2010 16:13:36 GMT -5
i thought that was the information being requested.
and while i tend to believe that tom is not recruitable in the "normal" sense. i also believe that mechanics may make a switch possible. now that we know that luv was who he said he was i am tending to believe that gg could be switching. that's why i am not so morose about kat. fuck with a whole shit pot of potential gfs that makes an investigator about nigh worthless. matter of fact, probably worse than worthless. and one thing i have learned about story when it comes to canon is that he is a tricksy son of a bitch. so i have to play this straight. i have no clue about gg, stark, etc. and to be honest will not even invest any time in that path. i just want to get another notch on my belt as a humble town servant.

Post by Inner Stickler on Jan 4, 2010 0:32:22 GMT -5
I trust that Tom was town all of Yesterday and he said that he was nonrecruitable so I believe that he will be town all throughout the game. If the Green Goblin has to be targeted to switch, we may still have a chance since scum don't know who he is unless they have an investigator who gets lucky. If GG can choose to defect then we need to whack scum now and make switching seem like a fool's choice.
