Hey, everyone - The Joker here. Sure, I'm dead, but that's no reason I can't provide some color commentary. So here we are, dawn of Day Two. After that mess with the green goo, they've moved the proceedings down here to the city courthouse, which - you'll love this - has it's very own electric chair down in the cellar.
And here they come, filing on in! There's Lightfoot, and peeker, and SBrown! And here comes texcat - they're all giving him a bit of a perimeter, aren't they, Bob? - who's Bob? - And Drain Bead. Look, there's BillMc, walking side by side with Astral... Astral... oh, wait, I spoke too soon. I don't see Astral Rejection anywhere. Bob, do you see her? What's that, you say? Floating down by the pier outside the courthouse? But that's terrible!
Astral Rejection, The Ratcatcher, who was Town (Investigative), has died in the Night.
Ooh, well, that's going to leave a mark. Who else are we missing, Bob? Anyone? Hmmm... Let's check from the top of the list: Pollux, Nanook, Merest... oh, dear. Oh, dear. Looks like somebody held a grudge, isn't that right, Bobbo?
Merestil Haye, The Penguin, who was Scum (Special), has also been eliminated.
Right, OK, think that's everyone. Scathach, sinjin, Total, gnarly, Plankton, Rysto, Gadarene, Cookies, Idle, Silver Jan, Meeko, pizzaguy, Mahaloth, Archangel, Hal, Chronos, Dirx, Stickler. So two more... what's that, Bob? Ooh, breaking news from the field, everyone! The person thought to be guiri was actually a drunken hobo. Guiri, it appears, has been the subject of additional foul play.
guiri, Talia Al Ghul, who was Third-Party (Special), is also no longer
Well, three bodies is a lot, but only one of them is a dyed in the wool Baddie, so I guess it's not - what's that? MORE breaking news? Ooh, look - Pollux Oil appears to have something strapped to his waist. It appears to be a small, black box with dozens of wires, complicated gears, machinery, and old-fashioned sticks of TNT, with a giant "ACME" logo on it. It's ticking continuously. On the front is a digital readout, which says only the number "7." Huh. Well. Somebody's got a sense of humor. Wonder what Pollux will do with that.
Pollux Oil has a device attached to him
And now, back to the action. Thanks for tuning in, everyone; I'm off to shoot Bob in the spleen. From the afterlife, this has been the Joker! Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow!
------------------
Day Two begins here and will end at 5:00PM EST on Thursday, March 15. Have fun out there!

Well, that's certainly a colorful start! I hope that Astral was only a watcher or the like, not a full-on detective, but still, getting another Scum out of the way is great news.
What the heck is the Penguin doing on the same team as Batman, anyway?
TexCat, I notice that you never told us who you were targeting. Which corpse is your doing?

Hello everyone! It's such a beautiful morning! What a pleasant day! The Bat is dead, we took out the Joker, and...uh...oh what's this? Oh... Oh bugger. But I don't wanna explode. TexCat, I notice that you never told us who you were targeting. Which corpse is your doing? I'd guess Mhaye, since she said she was going to target someone she thought was scum. She made a pretty big deal about scum most likely only being on her wagon, and he was the only one of the three dead that voted for her. Poor guiri. Does anybody else feel sorry for him? I think the only time I've seen him survive past Night One is if he's a) scum or b) I'm on the scum team to talk them out of it. (The Conspiracy game, in which all the other wolves wanted to axe him immediately.)

tough luck, Astral. at least we got another scum. strange indeed that it was the Penguin. Hello everyone! It's such a beautiful morning! What a pleasant day! Good riddance, Merestil Penguin and to a lesser degree, Guiri. Sorry to see you go, Astral.
An apparent bomber or some such. Good luck with that, Pollux. Try cutting the blue wire, or pull the battery from cell phone maybe.
It seems that Hal's late vote-swing wasn't enough to overcome a hefty dose of what sounds from here like OMGUS on Idle's part. Would you care to elaborate and perhaps present some supporting evidence, Idle? Which post is "that post"?

Vote Hal...for his vote on me yesterDay, even though his vote for me was for the same reasoning I gave in that post. Just to make sure I understand why you're voting Hal: Is it because he basically claimed non-vanille? Or because he was a hypocrite voting you for your "claim" while doing the same? Or is it because you think he is scum? I am still not completely willing to believe TexCat's claim but don't see a point in pushing it ATM. MHaye was no where near my Scumbar and I'll have to re-read before I can drew a (if any) conclusion from that. The bomb thing is worrying. Very. Let's hope it just a mark and that it doesn't explode automatically. Perhaps 7 indicates that 7 more players need to be marked for a wincon to be achieved? If we have a player marked 6 toMorrow or the next Day we might have to consider how to deal with the marked players. Meeko: why did you ask about the PMs in the thread and not in private to the Mod?

I fell asleep before I posted this... Third, (still no need for Opal here), the main event, my target for tonight, MHaye. His vote for me: Right now, I really want to vote for Peeker, as his acrostic destroys my ability to read the boards - I have aging eyes and a small, second hand VDU. His unbroken string of characters means I have roughly one-third of the screen unviewable. Where's the Ignore option gone? I'm not going to vote Peeker though, because that's an OOG issue. I'm going to Vote: Texcat (Look at that. The Vote tags do work.) I don't trust either of the two lead candidates. Pleo is trying bullying tactics, and I react badly to those in Mafia. "Do what I say or else" isn't the sort of approach I like. I tend to call the bluff, even if it gets me killed. That way, next time people know that when I refuse to play along it's from principle. I'm voting for Texcat primarily because her PM reads more to me like a PFK Serial Killer than a Vig. Consider. I saw Batman Begins recently. (Yattara brought it over when she visited at the end of Jan). Ra's didn't care whether he was killing the good guys or the bad - he wanted everyone dead, and that's the impression conveyed by the colour. Eliminating an SK early is desirable; read Storyteller's Evil Dead (the first game) if you don't believe me. The Demons couldn't kill fast enough to win. Why not?? because we jumped at the chance of killing SKs early (days 2 and 4) and before they could rack up a body count. Iirc, Peeker killed one person, and poor Blaster Master managed none; not through lack of trying, but everyone he tried to kill was immune to his attacks. So Peeker won the great murder-off 1-0.
I have a lot of problems with this post. It was at the 11th hour. Now, IIRC, MHaye votes at the 11th hour regularly, but I don’t like it and I don’t think it’s pro-town. He was around three and half hours earlier because he thought storyteller might want to split the thread, and two hours before that he mentioned that he had my character name in the last game. Neither of these times earlier on Thursday did he bother to vote, or even talk about who was considering for a vote. The discussion of the canon is odd, since MHaye had my character last time as town. Then there are the reasons why eliminating serial killers early is a good plan. I can’t disagree with this, but since I think eliminating serial killers is a good plan, I voted for the confessed serial killer, Pleo. If MHaye was so convinced about SKs, why didn't he vote for one? Aside from the bit about color, it almost looks like MHaye wrote this post justifying a vote for Pleo. And I look more like a serial killer than the confessed serial killer. Really? MHaye is a way better player than this post. He was my best guess for scum voting for me to save Pleo and hence save Batman Ed.

Assuming no one else takes credit for the kill of MHaye, I'll say good work. It does change things a bit. Also it seems to indicate that Scum don't have the power to target you and re-direct your kill. This is a very good thing indeed.

After saying this: sure he's annoying - i've been saying that for years. and sure he gets in folks grill. i remain unconvinced that either of those traits equates to scum or not town.peeker, you have taken a bold stand on special ed, in that you've taken no stand. matter of fact i consider that using that as any component for voting for someone is about scummy as hell. it's too fucking easy and lazy. But you find votes for ed to be scummy. You'd think that voting for someone you have no lean on would lead to... perhaps... a lean? Shake loose some informations, perhaps? But then you keep going and say this. it's kind of like the old prospectors. they went through a crapload of mud to find a couple of nuggets of gold. but i don't think they cursed the mud. they understood that it was a component to riches. What point are you trying to make anyway? Pardon, excuse me. What the fuck point are you trying to make, anyway? We must not vote for special ed, you have no lean on ed, and there's cursed gold in your rich crap nuggets? You stink of trying too hard to be wishy-washy while taking a stand against voting someone for being themselves, on day one no less. Maybe someone is trying too hard to act like their usual self. One of you or special ed are scum. Since defending a townie ed also makes sense, you have two possible motives for not wanting to encourage ed's death. But really, either one of you is fine with me. Ed's noise is grating on my nerves, and you'd think incessant nonsense posting would be the first thing on ed's list of things not to do lately. I nominate and Vote: peekercpa for being full of golden crap nuggets in my completely un-humble opinion. @atpg: in view of all that has happened since you wrote this post. What is your view on peeker now?

Wow, already with the voting there? I just got back in from work, and there's votes up. I'd think that we should at least look at the data a lil' more rather than just throwing out votes out the gate- I mean we now know the factions of 5 players in the game, and we have potentially a few more people during the night who've said they're town as well. So maybe if we looked the voting records, we might be able to figure something out, ya know? Looks like toDay's going to be a day of trying to Logic this thing out, me thinks.

@atpg: in view of all that has happened since you wrote this post. What is your view on peeker now? In theory, my opinion should be better. That said, choxorn fricking bussed several of his mates hardcore in a recent game I was in, and it was a vanilla game. And he won. So I'm a little paranoid. Peeker is not cleared in any way shape or form by recent events. That said, he gets the benefit of the doubt for a few rounds. If he's not dead by then, RE-EXAMINE HIM. Don't fricking do what every townie did in the other game and forget that mafia tend to distance from their teammates for the very purpose of surviving lynches. That's why vote analysis and behavior analysis only gets you so far. Remember that if guy is "cleared" then eventually the mafia will be interested in murdering him. Because townies that won't get lynched by other townies are directly detrimental to scum wins. Therefore peekercpa should be murdered by endgame or he's scum, that's the rule. If you forget that rule, then the loss is deserved.

My thoughts- I wanted to go back and look at the early part of the game- where Special Ed got a few votes on him for his playstyle. I noted this because when I made one of my posts- I noted he DID sound sorta suspicious/anti-Town with his style, but I also noted by that point that a lot of people had said that's just how Ed plays so I paid it less attention. I didn't really think as much about it, until the end of Day 1. Ed flipped Scum, and so my thinking is there were a lot of people who weighed in on Ed and his playstyle. I wonder if maybe in that pool of people there might have been Scum who knew that Ed was scum, and wanted to get heat off him by defending him too. I don't think all the people who defended him are scum, but I could definately see that scum might try to help out their buddy for getting votes on his play style by defending him. I think if we looked at who defended him, and then looked at how the voting went down when it was KNOWN that Pleo was threatening Ed , that we might be able to see if someone who defended him maybe made some shady voting decisions and that they might be scum. Ya know? Here's the Problem I have NO IDEA how to quote/format posts to make them all neat and all, or to link to them. And I just spent the last hour trying to find the posts that mention/defend Ed or commented on him in the early game. So I have a jumbled mess of data, and it's REALLY late and I want to go to bed. So I'm going to post all of my data in the next post, and then later this evening I'll try to go back and take a look more closely and try to see who defends Ed and how do they do it. It'd be really nice if someone could help and maybe look at the voting in the last 24 hours or so of Day 1, maybe to track the vote change and all especially since we know a few players alignments now.PS: Please someone tell me how to link to posts/make them neater to read, cuz I know right now it hurts too look at my data.
