Is my vote for him as stupid as a would allow, or are many needed here? I was going to make a note of this. I believe Gadarene and Peeker soft confirmed each other Night 1. I believe the gist of it was that Peeker sent a message only readable by townies that states that Peeker is mod-confirmed town or something to that effect. So Peeker is stating that Gadarene is town, and thusly is also stating that he is town. -->The discussion was in that maybe Peeker could just have the ability to send messages and put that stuff in there. But I don't think anyone really focused much on that idea. So yeah- you're kinda voting for a soft-confirmed townie. And unless you believe Peek has a different power, or that Gadarene and peeks are lying together.... yeah. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NETA: Pollux : I'm not asking you to do this, but the thought just struck me, I wonder if your device triggers if you vote "No Lynch". Your call man, but I'm curious at this point. I don't think this is a good idea. A vote seems to be a vote. A VOTE for a No Lynch is still a vote. And the device seems to pick up on voting. As for voting for a fake player... do you really want to take that risk? It just seems like a foolish idea to try to encourage Pollux to think about. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ do not fuck with pollux or gad. at least at this point. ullz should be safe unless for a touch as well. Are you softclaiming again? Or do you need your recipients to do that for you? I assume you've not mentioned anything just to keep it on the down low. In which case, fair enough. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I should have til Night or EODay anyway to live - was my train of thought See AskPizza about his whole essay on Investigators making the town lazy. As an investigative role, you should be a Town leader- take charge of your night action, use it well, and use it responsibly. Who wants to delay information to the town? Who wants to wait to the last min to claim? Who wants to boil everything down until the lynching hours for last min chaos? SCUM! So why would you want to delay giving the town information even if it might help a theoretical 3rd party or pfk? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, back at work with my notes. A search of +Batman +kerosene brings back a ton of results -- one villian or another using kerosene for something is a common plot element in the comics. But there's one time we hear about kerosene more than any other -- someone driving The Batmobile: My theory: Scum, as a team, have access to The Batmobile. They're using it for some sort of nighttime investigative purpose, and the iconic jet booster leaves the tell-tale odor of kerosene. Scum investigated me on Night One and peeker on Night Two. So because you smell gasoline... you jump to the idea that someone is a CAR? ( ... What about the villain- FireFly? You know... the pyromaniacal ARSONIST? I'm just saying. But I guess you could think of a car too.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I agree (I was surprised, anyway). And I agree with Hal that it's most likely the scum roleblocker taking a shot at someone who's claimed town but hasn't claimed their power. -Also of note... we only had 2 kills last night. There were 3 kills the night prior. Where's th e missing Kill? Known Actions:-Someone Blocked Gaudare- PizzaGuy Blocked Someone *But yet doesn't announce who....- Texcat claims one of the kills. Archangel - SBrown gets deviced [I'm assuming this is the case, even though storyteller hasn't put it in orange yet- safer than sorry]. - Peeks smells Gas. - Lightfoot checks out Scathcat.- Not Scum - Silver Jan Checks out Rysto (supposedly) I think we need to know who Pizza blocked- if it may be the missing kill, or if maybe the kill was blocked by a doctor, or redirected or a double kill.... OR MY thought:What if someone chose to use an action other than a lethal one? Maybe a recruitment occurred? That's my secret worry- I don't know if scum/PFK/3rd party teams can do multiple night actions or if they have to do only one action a night (as a team). But it's something in my mind at least.... ~~~~~~~~~~ Texcat, don't worry about hitting Archangel and him flipping town. He had zero use to us as town because he wasn't trying to scum-hunt, and he also provided cover for the mafia to possibly hide in, among the non-talkers. As such, his death was still pro-town in my opinion. Since we won't get much reaction from voting the non-talkers, I think the vig is a great way to resolve suspicions on those. But kill whoever you feel is scum, of course. I don't like this post. 1. You handwave away the death of a Townie, Archangel. The death of a Townie is still a bad thing, regardless of how sucky he may have been. It still hurts us. 2. You then continue to encourage the Vig to take out "the non-talkers" and you explain why you feel that's pro-town. --> Here's the thing... if you were SCUM... and you KNEW the Vig was going to want to take out non-talkers... wouldn't you just talk more? And then continue to encourage the Vig to hit the Non-talkers, because you know the scum will all avoid that pool of players? --> I don't like how you continue to encourage/justify the killing of possible townies, saying that it's okay if townies die if they don't contribute. For me, even if a Townie doesn't contribute, that's still a warm body that stands in the fight against scum! I'd rather have a useless townie shield, than constantly keep killing off our townies because scum know to simply AVOID acting like lurker! It's a shit move, and one I'd think someone with your years of experience would have considered. ~~~>Yesterday, I made the arguments against you, and voted for ya, but then you looked like you were changing your style and going to be more helpful towards to the Town. But I'm not seeing any major changes in your playstyle. It feels like you're doing the bare minimum. We're down a night kill, and it could be due to a blocking role stopping scum (or a doc protecting), but you don't even mention who you blocked. Right now, Lightfoot is getting heat for even thinking about delaying information... but you, sir, are ACTUALLY delaying the production of information.... I don't like this at all, and I still don't trust you PIzzadude. FOS PizzaDude. Bah, I was going to delay voting until i figured out what's going on with my device, but I should be like pollux and be a bit more aggressive. I've got 52 to go, so I shouldn't stop myself from posting/voting just because I'm afraid of what some damn gas mask torture device thing is going to do to me! Vote Pizzaguy
Because I still get a scuzzy vibe from you since yesterday, and you haven't really changed my opinion so far. -I'd like to hear who you blocked last night, and if you think that person may have been the 3rd killing role or not. ... and if you blocked Gaudare... then you got some 'splainin' to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For personal Science:Post #3 Votes #2 Bunnies:#1

NETA: Obviously- the post above is working in backwards order for quotes- basically starting at the first post I read, and working backwards from that one. Dunno why I did it that way. By the time I finished, they'd already answered a lot of Meeks stuff more succinctly. I did investigate Rysto last and I got a result. I think it would possibly more helpful if he revealed his name first and then I can confirm it. I agree with this- Kudos. This is exactly what I woulda done in your shoes, Jan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For personal Science: Post #4 Votes #2 Bunnies:#3

in case it got lost... I didn't want to keep the information to myself... I did want to make sure there wasn't a fly in the ointment if I shared all... I get the impression that some players think I'm not bright enough to see the nose on my face. so I was cautious. my question was simple enough. " before I do this does anyone see a down side?" seems to me we have had a few players that just went for it and got heat afterwards. FWIW, I thought it was good practice for a dick to wait to claim after they cleared / confirmed 3 players. This could be only for full dicks, and probably in smaller games. Then again, the information handed out in this game is fast and lose, that I would almost think, at this point, it* doesn't really matter. *that is, the fact that you provided your intel. Then again, you've already done it, so it doesn't matter. I think that usually it would be a good idea for the detective to wait a couple of days before revealing what they know, especially if they have only discovered Town players however in this game neither LightFoot nor I have full detective roles and we could possibly help each other. I would also like to add that you cannot take our results as set in stone because there could be a player/s that can give us false results. I really hate that bit, I would like my results to be 100% accurate but that's the way this game works. Meeko, Gaderene has said that Peeker is Town, don't you trust Gad either? Of course I know they could both be scum but I don't see the motivation behind the claim so early in the game when neither of them were likely to be lynched.

<font style="font-size: 12px;">hey, look guys. i wanted to get rid of pizza a while back. i ain't got not fucking problem with that currently. and this could just be whistling past the graveyard at this point but po is coming off all townie and shit. i really never thought i would type that type of sentence in my career, btw. fuck it let's put a vote down and see what the heck happens. vote pizza The above post is a "see what the heck happens" vote. This shouldn't be allowed by any player..... and Peeker gets a pass more often than not on them. I was content to let this one pass by as well....... WAS being the key word here. i guess you aren't a fan of pressure voting. snipped I actually agree with Peeker about Pizza. His play this game has been terrible. I made a comment to him Yesterday about how he's been all talk about how bad Town is playing but not doing anything himself. His defense of that was basically "Scummy me would never do that!" which is of course ridiculous. I hate the reflexive "scum would totally do that!" response, since there are plenty of things scum wouldn't do, no seriously they wouldn't, but I don't think this is one of those things. And his roleclaim was marginal at best. Vote: Askthepizzaguy i agree. furthermore, i think he's seen Idle claim often enough to see that at worst it's a null tell. Vote: Askthepizzaguy

I think Idle's claim is completely a null tell. He also claimed (twice! once at the beginning and once after being subbed back in) in The Little Mermaid even though it was demonstrably anti town to do so. - Lightfoot checks out Scathcat.- Not Scum Groovy [oog] Was away all weekend, so just catching up now. @ SilverJan, yep I'm a rugby fan, Munster and Ireland mainly, although the atrocious game against England on Paddy's day would make anyone reconsider [/oog]

I did investigate Rysto last and I got a result. I think it would possibly more helpful if he revealed his name first and then I can confirm it. My acrostic 100% confirms my name, but if people really think it necessary I'll claim it first. Whenever somebody posts any sort of accusation against him he gets a bit...hysterical isn't the right word but it's the only thing I'm coming up with at the moment. I apologize but apparently I've sweated out my vocabulary in this humidity. (It's way too hot for mid-March, seriously). How about bitchy? It's been a long two weeks for OOG reasons and I really don't have the energy to be nice when people vote me suggesting new ideas or cases that 5 seconds of research would have shown weren't actually true.

Damn that's a lot of posts to catch up on since Thursday afternoon. That doesn't make any sense. If I think she's lying, why would I miss the chance to grab someone that is very powerful for Town in Mahaloth? I mean, she gets lynched and/or vigged Tonight or Tomorrow. And if I die in the meantime? If Maha gets recruited by some other faction in the meantime? Suddenly this decision to attempt to recruit Drain is a colossal disaster. And even if she's telling the truth, I'm not convinced that she's a better recruit than Mahaloth. She's a investigator sure, but it doesn't confirm Townies and it doesn't find scum. Mahaloth is basically an unkillable Townie that will be confirmed as such when I die. That's a ridiculously powerful role, more powerful than a very VERY limited investigator. So far, the only evidence for scum having a recruiter is people's sense of symmetry. It's possible that Drain is on a target list for a scum recruiter. It's also possible that no scum recruiter exists. But, if you posted in the night thread that you had targeted Drain and gotten no response, I would be more than happy to lynch her the next day. Mahaloth would also be a valuable addition to the team as a townie. But since he's vulnerable to the lynch, I don't think a scum mahaloth is really all that more dangerous to us then a regular scummer. I have no problems with your second pararaph, however. I generally agree with IS, as others have already said, I believe that recruiting Drain would have been better than Mahaloth. But I do not fully agree with Nanook's second paragraph. Mahaloth is not an unkillable townie - and the death of Nanook would not guarantee Mahaloth as such. From Mahaloth's claim: "While your role and alignment will be revealed upon your initial death, it will not be in any way confirmed when you resurrect.....Your power functions if you are killed at Night. It will not help you if you are lynched or killed during the Day by other means." We have no guarantee that his recruitment will persist with his resurrection; similarly, if the scum or a pfk has a day kill, then mahaloth is road kill. Idle's claim - the "now that we know there are vanilla's" reason for claiming seems weak, and SBrown makes numerous valid points about the PM. As for the "It's what Idle does" null-tell comments - undecided. I do agree with ATPG's comments wrt to Idle's claim, but ATPG's whole playstyle has been "off" in this game - his "holier than thou" rants are expected, but they are pretty much lacking content. He's trying to hard to be the helpful townie -- the reason he often levels at others. The last line in his claim pings me "If you steal something belonging to the Bat, you'll know." Not only is he claiming roleblocker - but he's effectively claimed "batcop" -- if he happened to find batman he'd be told - this combination seems overly powerful. Vote: ATPG

Just me, or is the wagon on Pizza breaking the land speed record here? My God!
I could be off here, but you know what? I don't care, I think it has enough credence to it, that I can say what I want to say, and remain where I am with Pizza.
Let's assume for the moment that he is Scum. Does that change the information he is giving? Is the information he is giving "wrong", or is he not speaking from experience? Did he not say he has 150 games plus experience? If we can ""leash the vig"" certainly we can keep Pizza alive longer than this. Do we not have multiple detectives? Do we not have other targets?
Yeah, ok, so I might be snuggling Pizza, but dammit, he's playing the game. He is giving us information. Aren't these two points enough to consider another target instead of him? I doubt the game will end if we lynch Pizza, even if he is scum. Help us if he is town.
All of this being said. The votes for him still seem ..... just there. No rationale for it, someone even defended peeker's by saying that it was a pressure vote. Pressure for what? Why pressure pizza?
I just think the entire thing is already a wagon that scum are on, and it reeks of opportunism.
Yes, they guy who knows a lot of things is going to stick his neck out. In Mafia especially.
It's not bragging if you can do it. I think Pizza is doing it.
If we lynch him, he's not going to "do it" anymore, in terms of giving us information and things to ponder.
Such as:
Pizza: Do you think the game has slowed? Why do you think this is? Can we on stick it?

And now we see the entire thought process, or lack therof. Peeker puts out a short list of people he is looking at. I can only wonder why he is doing this. However, he double downs on Pizza for no apaprent, given, or implied reason. He does this, even after stating that he wouldn't mind killing them in....... he has no preference. Yet he still wants Pizza gone. Vote Peeker.
Is that an Ulterior motive in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Your """stir shit up""" vote would have flown, at least for me, as just that, but you've pinged me here with the later additions, and stubbornness to stick to pizza regardless.
<snipped & bleached> hey, i wanted to lynch pizza back on D1 and primarily went pleo since he was not being a very cooperative cooperative 3rd party. and to some extent i think it adds a little spice to the mix to get your thoughts out in the open. typically the only folks that have to worry about that are no goodniks. so i listed some folks that i have concerns about and some that i am comfortable with. not sure how that does anything but create accountability. i don't have a problem with that.

And we already saw the Daykilling non-Town player, it was Pleo. DKs are very powerful, and I doubt there's multiple of them running around.

I am on my phone and it's not easy to copy/paste. However I figured I'd better share this: I am really sorry to see Inner go - not just because he was town but also because he was vocal and played the game. The -52 is strange. Doesn't seem to be tied with votes as the 7 was. As for the roleblocker we have: I think Texcat should stop telling us who she will target. If Archangel HAD been scum I find it very likely Texcat would have been blocked. Maybe a bit of WIFOM is better in this case Yeah, amazingly enough, my kills have gone through like clockwork. I see a couple of possible advantages in sharing my kill beforehand. One, if I am killed or role-blocked, town can look at my target as a lynch candidate. Two, if anyone, including the possible target, has any reason they'd like to share why my target should be changed. (If Archangel had claimed Doc last night, I might have re-considered. Of course, since she was vanilla...) That being said, I tend to agree with you, especially since we know there are roleblockers out there. And certainly on Night 1, I didn't mention my target ahead of time. However, I will say now that I think likely vig targets are lurkers, lynch runners-up, and scum that I think I have a convincing case on (like MHaye). Also, I can choose not to kill any night. So if everyone is active and we lynch a scum, I could easily choose to stay home and watch TV. Gadarene, can you stand a few more questions about your message regarding peeker? I'm assuming that it was similar to the one that Total quoted just above? However, Total implies that it was part of her original PM. (Corrections welcomed.) The timing of your claim indicates that it might have been a message received at dusk of day one. Is that correct? If so, can I ask if it came in an envelope?

I've got to stop drawing up cases against people. First I point out Drain Bead could be a recruiter and that case takes off while I'm gone, now I mention pizzaguy and suddenly his wagon takes off. I'm such an instigator! do not fuck with pollux or gad. at least at this point. ullz should be safe unless for a touch as well. Well thank you for the vote of confidence...but why? Do you know something I don't, aside from me being awesome? I mean, I know I'm town but as far as I can tell there haven't been any confirmations in the main thread. Are you confusing me and Nanook because that really seems to be happening a lot. NETA: Pollux : I'm not asking you to do this, but the thought just struck me, I wonder if your device triggers if you vote "No Lynch". Your call man, but I'm curious at this point. No thanks, I wouldn't vote no lynch even if I didn't have a device strapped to me. How about bitchy? It's been a long two weeks for OOG reasons and I really don't have the energy to be nice when people vote me suggesting new ideas or cases that 5 seconds of research would have shown weren't actually true. That works I guess! It's not bragging if you can do it. I think Pizza is doing it. If we lynch him, he's not going to "do it" anymore, in terms of giving us information and things to ponder. I'll be honest, I am a little worried that the wagon took off so fast. I know lynching active players makes the post counts die down, but at the same time if an active player is scum we can't just put them off because there are other people that only post once a Day. However, I want to be clear about something. It's not the fact that he's giving information and things to ponder and suggestions on how to build a better mafia player in his wordy posts. It's the dissonance between what he says and what he does. His actions are very off from what he claims is the way to hunt scum. There's a very "do as I say, not as I do" vibe coming from him which is what made him blip on my radar. And it doesn't fucking matter who I vote for, apparently we are lynching Pizza today. Reasoning be Damned. (removing the movingness) Why are you so obsessed with having no responsibility for the lynch? Yesterday with your vote to No Lynch, and now toDay you're putting up a big ruckus about possibly lynching pizza. It's consistent, but... why?

This is what I get for being late to the game. I was planning on making a case agains pizzaguy, but got distracted by RL, and basically the case has been made for me. The three things that stood out to me rereading during the Night were:
1) His saying multiple times yesterDay that Drain was valuable to town and should be recruited but dangerous if recruited by scum so if she wasn't going to be recruited she needed to be dead. Nanook, made it perfectly clear, on several occasions that he had no intention of recruiting Drain and was in fact voting for her! So what does Pizzaguy do? He unvotes Drain and votes to lynch the lurker!!!
2) He voted textcat over Pleo day one
3) He keeps talking about scum hunting but has not put up a single case against anyone! And he voted to ltl on day 2! (see 1 above)
