Night 4: 04:00 hours
Down the halls of the winding asylum, doors lead to various rooms. Inside those rooms, some of the inmates are still creeping about, others planning evil deeds, and some are just innocently sleeping in their beds at this hour.
But if you go all the way down the hall, down the corridor, and to the last room past the stairwells, you'll hear noises ring out from an occupant who isn't resting with the others in their little community of insanity. No, there is one who is totally and deliriously sane at this hour. His sanity is stretched to the limits, and you hear the puzzlings and mutterings from a room high above in one of the towers by itself. If we creep up that stairway to the room, we can see a shadowy figure lurking outside the door, listening in on the occupant within.
But the mysterious figure is of no matter to us right now, so instead we join the tenant inside, who is furiously laughing at himself. If we gaze at the writing on the wall we see a slogan written out in white chalk: Riddle me this, riddle me that....how many will die before we take out the Bat? It's us against them all, trying for the final five...Who's got the balls to make it out alive?
Also on the walls are various scribbles: 1.HawkeyeOp3.Hal Briston4.Darth Sensitive5.BlasterMaster6.Cookies7. tdpatriots128. Brewha13. Storyteller15. NAF113816.The Dark Smurf 17.Death by Kassia 20. Rysto 21.Hoopyfrood22. Ryjae 23. Molefan198124. Sinjin
THE GREATEST RIDDLE OF ALL: WHO?WHOAREYOU?WHOARE WE? ByeByeHush! READ MY WORDS. START THE DAY ANEW. WHO! Who Is the BAT?
Various names have various identities, formulaic statistics line the walls, the whole room is FILLED with numbers, names, and identities. All while the figure in the center laughs, driven tortuously mad by his own Rational Mind....
"Who are we? That is the Key, Once I know, I'll be Free!" chanted the enigmatic figure known as The Riddler to himself.
This was a man who did not care about the Town, nor did he care about Batman and his scummy Do-Gooders. The Riddler had no time for such silly trifles as this farce of trying to root out the scum. No! He had his own problems to deal with. For you see, he knew how to escape- he had the answer all along in his brain- figured it out on the first Day actually. Quite an easy simple solution. But the was a problem. Because... he couldn't leave. Not just yet. Not when there was A MYSTERY to solve- The Greatest Riddle EVER.
Who is Batman? Who is the Joker? Who are we all? Who are You and you and you? He sat every night, a prisoner to his own mind, trying to figure out the answers- easily evading all those who he'd come to realize as being truly who they were. Such petty villains and scum had no matter to him and his own Game. He was playing for keeps vs. a greater foe: His Own Mind!
Each night he played with his wall and his list, and he attempted to figure out the names of all of the residents. So simple: all he had to do was match the names to the villains or heroes. Once he had figured out this Greatest Riddle, why then he could leave these fools behind! Scum? Townie? Who cared....
And so our tragic figure sat in his room, thinking up solutions and guesses and new solutions, when he heard a clatter outside his door. "Who goes there? Who dares to come up here? Ah- Is it you, my darling Mo-" Just then the door collapsed as our previously lurking figure smashed into the room and faced the Riddler, whose eyes widened. It was the one he hadn't prepared for, the one he hadn't expected. The one person who was able to dodge the Riddler's game so far....
He stared awestruck at the figure in front of him for what seemed an eternity as his mind slowly went over his calculations. "I... I never... I'm not like them, you know." said the Riddler dejectedly falling to his knees. "I know I belong here. I just... I just wanted to try to play a Game first. To see if I got to leave. I... I'm sorry. I'll be a good boy now. I promise. You can arrest me. I'll be a good boy. I belong here...."
And so the Riddler curled up, crying to himself, as the mysterious figure cuffed and bound him. The Riddler realized he had just lost the Game that night- and it was all because of those Do-Gooders.
Day 5: 06:15 hours
As Dawn breaks, the villains awaken to discover one of their members was not there. Instead, they could hear a sobbing coming from up the stairs. Storyteller was the first to enter the room, and saw the signs of forced entry. The henchmen scratched their heads as they looked all around the chaotic walls of the room. "Look over there!" cried out Hoopyfrood , pointing to a figure hunched over in the corner. Ryjae slowly approached the figure, and admired at the sobbing figure's own green Hat. This was an iconic figure, who was now reduced to mere shadow of himself. He just sat there, catatonic, and tied up muttering to himself over and over: WHOISBATMAN?WHOAREYOU?WHOAREWE?WHOAMI?
He would no longer be of assistance or harm to anyone anymore....
Hal Briston, The Riddler, who was Playing for Keeps, has been defeated by the Do Gooders.
It is Now Day 5. Dusk will be at 18:00, Friday April 18.

Hang on a second here:
"Mo"? "The only person who was able to dodge the Riddler's game?"
Would that be the one who isn't on the List?

So, is the shark repellent thing not happening? I wonder why. Doc block? Block by Hoopy? Was Robin doing it? Or the Riddler?

Day Mod wrote: the shark is a lie Is that supposed to mean something? On the ryjae vs. hawkeyeop situation, I went over all the scenarios in my head (again--shush, yes, I'm slow like this): 1) ryjae is lying PFK, hawkeyeop is truthtelling Town power role - Probably the most likely scenario. Scum don't really need to get PFKs lynched, since it doesn't appear that PFKs are immune to cross-kills. Hawkeyeop surviving the Night raises a slight WiFoM issue, though: did the scum spare him to cast suspicion on him, or because they were assuming that there was some kind of protection on him? 2) ryjae is lying PFK, haekeye is truthtelling Scum power role - Not very likely. Scum don't really need an alignment investigator--they just need to kill off everybody that isn't their scumbuddies unless, again, the mods were bastards and didn't give them this information--and Hal already took up the rolename investigator slot. 3) ryjae is truthtelling Town, hawkeyeop is lying Scum - If the Mason's info was correct, then there were enough PFKs yesterDay around to keep scum from an auto-win (because I'm assuming that taking control of the town means that the scum have to outnumber both Baddies AND PFKs), and drainbead was only a Goon (and unless the Mods didn't tell us something, didn't have any particularly interesting powers), so this only seems likely if ryjae is more powerful a role than he's let on, and/or the scum find him dangerous enough a threat to attempt a 1-for-1 trade. 4) ryjae is lying PFK, hawkeyeop is lying Scum - Almost no likelihood. Again, I doubt Scum would need an alignment investigator, so hawkeyeop would have been tremendously lucky to be correct on ryjae's alignment and gambit like this. 5) ryjae is lying Scum, hawkeyeop is lying Scum - This gambit only would work if we mysteriously decided to lynch hawkeyeop first, and from the action yesterDay, I'd think it's safe to say suspicion falls largely on ryjae. 6) ryjae is truthtelling Town, hawkeyeop is lying Town - Well, it is a possibility, but one that makes zero sense. Why would hawkeyeop feel the need to make up an investigation result?

Nice spot there Rysto - The one who was not on the list! Very interesting.
The other thing I find very interesting is that Riddler wasn't killed outright. Is this an indication that with Robin gone, Batman now has to handle the 'kills' for the Do-Gooders and as such, and in general keeping with the canon, the targets won't be killed. (But are otherwise taken out of the game)
Personally even though Hal was playing for keeps, I believe he did have a list, however his previous comfirmations or otherwise are now suspect in my mind, as he could have happily been telling us what we wanted to hear.
And apparently I need to read more carefully RE Sharks, because I can't see anything in there about them either.
Lastly I came into possession of another little tidbit of information last night. Which is not of much use IMO at this stage of the game, but I suppose it at least confirms something we strongly suspect.
That information is that the Do Gooders (but only the do gooders, not the PFKer's) have disguises, and some of them may have multiple disguises.

And upon review I see that the shark issue was settled. The colours on my work monitor must be a little bit mis-adjusted, because I couldn't even see the green lettering until I went looking for them.

My guess would be that she was captured and delivered to GCPD by the device mentioned in the opening colour. There are green letter sprinkled throughout the opening post. They spell out "The shark is a lie". Finally, there's something else very interesting in the toDay's colour:

The final five? Is that 5 Do-Gooders, or 5 scum? The later is possible if tdpats isn't lying.

Huh. Yay for all of the Baddies living through the night.
The only reason I can even come close to seeing the individual green letters is because y'all have said they are there. Seriously, the only way I can see the difference is if my eyeball is 2 inches away from the monitor.
Rysto: You might want to reconsider throwing around words like "scum" and "Do-Gooder" in a mutually exclusive fashion. So what exactly do you mean by "scum"? The total number of Do-Gooders plus the total number of PFKs?

To answer Hal's question from Friday, for everyone else since Riddler is gone now, I did not block tdpatriots on Night 3. Although, even if I had, I don't know if it would have prevented his boomstick from taking out the person who attacked him anyway. According to my PM, I only stop people from acting at night. I'm guessing this means defensive powers still work.
And after the last Day, we're now down to 15. We lost a scum and a PFK, so the original ratio I figured of town to scum to PFK now sits as thus:
9:4:2 (with the unlikely possibility of 10:3:2)
The nice thing is with they lynch of the scum, and the scum taking out a PFK rather than a townie, town is now winning. We can be fairly certain that tdpatriots is one of the PFK's (unless he's a scum taking a large risk). We have a pretty good chance that Ryjae is as well. It's interesting that he hatted Hawkeyop last night, though. I'd like to hear his reasoning on that.
I'm guessing Hal's win condition was to simply figure out who was who. An interesting pro-town PFK win condition, as the scum already know who isn't scum. I can see why he would want a mass reveal. It means all he has left to do is figure out who the scum coverups are. But as to the speculations as to why scum took him out rather than anyone else: he was the only confirmed character that could expose them. It's the same reason they took out HM the previous night.

Well, it was obvious Hal would be killed, but the PFK thing I did not see coming. Unfortunately he's the one type of character who, PFK or not, might still have been useful to us townies. Still, I don't suppose the do-gooders could risk another DrainBead. (Not that I think DrainBead would have lasted too long anyway.)
In the interests of clearing the air and getting a vote in early (I couldn't get on the Internet all yesterday evening BTW), I'm going to post a preliminary vote on Ryjae. If he turns out to be PFK as well, I'll be a lot more confident in my scum choices (of which Drain was one long before Hal outed him - yay!) than I have been so far.
The bad news - a Kat-style analysis of Drain's lynch seems fairly pointless, since pretty much everybody voted him anyway. I still think that there's gold in that analysis of Kat's exile though. Hell, I marked DrainBead as looking "scummy" in it so I know I wasn't too far off with at least one person. Atarus is cleared, so that's two out of the way. There's a few others who are definitely worthy of notice IMO.
But for now, let's see how the Ryjae thing plays out.

Because he is the only person I know to be scum. So if nothing else I would like to see him dead. But see, the problem is, we will find out if he's scum/PFK or not by your death. However, if he's town, and you bomb-hatted him, we can't very well allow you to kill him tonight. Even if he's not town, his death will not necessarily confirm you are town. You could be PFK and he could be scum telling the truth. tdpatriots could be lying and you and hawkeyeop could both be PFK. Why should we not lynch you toDay which would postpone getting useful information from your death?

Things continue to be fascinating. Something happened to me last Night. Before I reveal what it was, would anyone like to acknowledge having targeted me with an action? Seems like a dangerous thing to be asking. Either the action on you was protown and acknowleding it would out the acknowledger as a power role to the scum or the action was proscum and acknowledging it would out the acknowledger as scum to the town. What reason would the person who did some action to you have to reveal that they did an action?
