I like the level of activity so far! I think Mr. Ed should be watched, but given his meta with the mod, not a good vote for today. And while guiris use of rabid by itself may not be voteworthy, his reaction to people calling him on it pings my scumdar. It just seemed a little too frantic. *outrun: guiri* This entire post is odd to me. First of all the part of "I like the level of activity", but she only has contributed only 1 other post than this one. Then like ED stated that issue of confusing Guiri and Trepa and to go as far as outruning (voting) Guiri for it. Outrun CassidyScarlet

I forget who asked and when, but yes, my role PM did mention the word 'rabid'. That was me, thank you. If any Town power were to know the name of the scum team, I figured the Cop would. As there's been no counter-claim and we know there's only one Cop, I believe you. So, I see three possibilities: 1. Trepa, as he claims, spontaneously decided to give the scum team a pet name and, in his first post of the Day, chose "rabids" which matched the unannounced in-game term for scum as apparently confirmed by the mod and the Cop - an amazing coincidence. 2. Trepa is a Town power role who was informed that the scum are to be referred to as "rabids" in his role PM but, when asked if he'd coined the term, said "Yes, I did" - a lie of commission. 3. Trepa is scum and saw the term in his own role PM I think it's a crappy way for a scum to be found so early in the game but I'm still happy with my vote.

Is there some reason that you think that number 3 is the more likely scenario? Just given the numbers of 5 town power roles and a likely 5 scum, it seems that number 2 and number 3 are equally probable. I don't recall seeing any other reason you thought Trepa was rabid.

Moody -- you are trusting us to know exactly who you are talking about in your sentence. I did not misrepresent what you said, and I did not even accuse you of being Scum (if I thought you were, I would have voted you). I pointed out that statements like that are what have caused me to vote or investigate you in the past.
Haven't finished the rest of the thread, but wanted to address this.

Just catching up.... I'm intrigued at the term rabids having been used when I haven't seen it in my PM... That's not to say that someone doesn't have it in theirs. I've been caught out before when I omitted something from a list (well I didn't omit I just used a different point of reference to get the list) So I know how easily it could happen. Interesting points on both sides of the argument though. @ Sister Coyote... Could you point out anywhere in this post where I am "trying to encourage others to vote" as your post D1-96 says.... ? Like I said .... I state that I don't have the word "rabid" in my PM... but it doesn't mean that others haven't... As has now happened (should we choose to believe the claim) fubbleskag has now come forward to say that they had it in their PM. So again I don't feel I have smudged anyone... I feel you have taken what I said out of context. ..

My thoughts on Trepa
Rereading her first post, it does seem kinda odd about how she slipped in Rabid in WHILE she was also talking about scum. It does seem odd, rereading it. I have no problem with the term, but the way that she used it in her first post does seem odd, interchanging it with scum. That, and the fact that she keeps trying to lynch the people who haven't really contributed since day 1 leads me to

I don't personally have a problem with #2 in principle; it's perfectly plausible that a Town Power would not want to give away information that might out him. The problem here is that I can't figure out which Town Power (besides the claimed and not-counterclaimed Cop) would be likely to have the word 'rabids' in their PM. We have a Doc, a Vig, and 2 Masons. There is no reason I can think of for any of these roles to have Team nicknames specified in their PMs. So it seems that either Trepa came up with the word 'rabids' on his own, and it just happened to be the same term that Meeko picked, or he saw it somewhere other than in a Town Power's PM. Of course, there are a couple possibilites other than the ones guiri mentioned: A) fubbleskag is Scum, and hoped to out the Cop via a counterclaim. B) Trepa saw the word in his own Vanilla Town PM. I think A would be an incredibly ballsy move by Scum at this point in the game. As for B, since we don't have a sample Vanilla PM (unless I missed it), we can't say for certain it's not the case, but with a number of people claiming the word 'rabid' does not appear in their PM, it seems unlikely. outrun Trepa Mayfield

Trepa, as he claims, spontaneously decided to give the scum team a pet name and, in his first post of the Day, chose "rabids" which matched the unannounced in-game term for scum as apparently confirmed by the mod and the Cop - an amazing coincidence. I merely happened to take the term used to describe the cause of the scum, and turn it into a plural noun. I hardly see why that would have been so hard to guess. So, I see three possibilities: 1. I may be on the chopping block at the moment, but I'm not going to pretend to be a power role just to save my own neck--that would be more problematic still.

Match Speed MetalicSquink* Outrun Silver Jan
Of all the people currently voting for me, her vote looks the most like bandwagon-hopping. That, along with her baffling assertion that all scum are the same animal, which makes no sense from my perspective, nor from the perspective of a town power (based on what fubbles said).

Hmm, Schedule for game seems fine once its on track. Given what has been said, I would also expect 5 scum, 10 vanilla, 5 Town power roles. Should give us 5 mislynches to play with and all the cop results are accurate ;D @sis C: You missed "Assume nothing, expect everything", although in this game, it might be a little redundant. @ed - why are you taking Meeko to task for the setup of the game? looks like I did miss something: fubbleskag - if you are claiming what I think you are claiming, I think its the right idea. Does someone want to tell Captain Pinkies we have actually started playing? I just arrived, I've been heads down finishing up a contact...

Masons might 'know' that their partner is not a rabid but the Scum should know. It's also possible that he used the same term that Meeko chose.

By this I meant that I didn't see anything like a smoking gun, and while all your questions were not necessarily scumtells, they should still be kept in mind later on.
As to everyone else who jumped on me because I accidentally switched Guiri and Trepa after catching up on everything, please explain to me how it is a scumtell? What makes my mistake more likely to have come from a scum rather than a citizen? There is no benefit to be gained from looking stupid by making an obvious error.

- opportunistically voting for a player while not even paying enough attention to get your facts straight.

And I wasn't smudging you. I called you on something that multiple other people have called you on, and gave my personal opinion that it is not something that should be forgotten in later rounds.
