cassiepietz, while you explained your situation of being a new player and work full time and this and that in a paragraph... I still do not see any reason supporting your votes (not just one vote, you voted in both Day 1 and Day 2). "All decisions are complex" is really a nut tell. I guess the only suggestion I can give at this point: if you have limited time to post, spend the limited time posting the substance (reasons behind the vote, etc.). Everyone knows that we have new players in this game, and a lot of us work. Do not waste the limited time explaining you are one of the new players or you are one of the busy players, because it was already a well-known fact. Hopefully this post would not be a "being too hard on newbie players" post. If I'm being too hard on newbie players... well, the game is called Marathon Mafia, and neither Marathon nor Mafia is easygoing stuff. #1 I don't know what a "nut tell" is Vote1-I read and watched peoples reactions to getting votes-I thought he seemed like he was trying too hard to defend himself-I voted for him Vote 2-same basic thing and throwing other people's names out thereAs I said before...I spend my limited time READING...by the time I get through with that I vote if I have time. I feel like I am being chastised for signing up for this when I am doing what the rules stated I was supposed to do-sorry for being a moron and not realizing that an explanation was REQUIRED-again I don't get how this game works-I read the rules and followed them If I don't have time for an explanation...am I not supposed to vote? Since you missed it...I bolded it from the quote At this point I don't really know what else to vote on...seems like trying too hard to get other people votes would be scummy

Is there any reason you say this? Was someone supposed to die but didn't? Are you asking about the multiple deaths or specifically the death of Lightfoot? I was just reading about the powers and trying to figure out which ones might be in the game, and doctor has already been announced (in that post from Idle about doctors, detectives, masons, and unknown roles). If a doctor had saved somebody, that meant yet ANOTHER kill possibility was in the game, so for someone who was expecting to see just one death after Night, it got pretty intense pretty fast. the multiple deaths threw me, nothing specifically about Lightfoot. It still seems like a odd thing to say from someone with little knowledge of how the powers work. Maybe you're catching on quicker than you thought.

I understand now, but Ed throws out names constantly to get a reaction. Also, in general, if you really think someone is scum it is pro-town to try to convince others of that.

This is so funny that I have to make some comments. endhoot, you posted ONCE in Day 1 (D1#389) and 3 times in Day 2 (D2#439, #555, #556), for a total of 6 lines (including 2 posts and 3 lines for a vote). And the only reason coupled with your vote is that player's lurking... Oh. My. Goodness.

Meeko - for the last time I voted for you because I think you are scum 1. you are very worried about WHY I voted for you 2. you are very worried about me starting a BANDWAGON against you. 3. in short you are very worried about YOU - which is scum tell
Town would worry about a vote or two on them - If a town is mis lynched Chris has said they could rejoin as a sub so you wouldn't even have to leave the game. SO I THINK YOU ARE SCUM.
Is that clear enough now are you going to post again that you want a reason for me vote? PS I also find it odd that you didn't vote for me - since I have voted against you twice now

Sorry - I don't know how to edit or quote on this board

If indeed it was a vig kill it was a excellent town vig kill, if it was town... LightFoot offered lots of very helpful advice in Day 1. A give-away, though I didn't catch it, might have been her back-to-back posts #551 and #552 in which, by accidentally clicking Post instead of Preview, she showed that she was dithering over her post. (IIRC, she's exposed herself as Scum in prior games in a similar way.) I mentioned this is my long Day 2 post (#88).

Edit - that should say a town WOULD NOT worry about a vote or two against them. Why do you say that? I don't understand that logic. It's like someone is accusing you of something you didn't do. Plus we want the vote to go on someone who is Scum so anyone who is Town that gets a vote feels like that vote is being wasted (well that's what it feels like to me). Lots of people used this logic on Day 1 and voted for defensive behaviour as being indicative of scum, but we got it wrong. starrirain was Town.

In other words if you were town and not the top three or four in the vote count why would all your posts be about the couple of vote for you when you have no chance of being voted off. I would change my vote if I felt any of the top vote holders at this point were scum, as I hate to waste my vote

There are even bunnies ( I do not like the bunnies but I’m making a point) We’re just avatars in chat boxes. Getting overheated is not the norm. It ain’t personal ( granted it gets that way sometimes but it shouldn’t) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now back to discussing who we all want to kill [grin] Bolding and size is mine... Interesting phrase to use. Kill. Hmmm... Usual Town will Lynch and Scum will do the Killing...

Edit - that should say a town WOULD NOT worry about a vote or two against them. I've got to take issue with this. In my first game I didn't worry about a vote on me. My lack of concern was held against me, and resulted in my being lynched. So yes, worry. Just a little. Make a rational defence and point to it when anyone else challenges you. Don't edit. (At least, not in this game - other games can have different rules.) To quote a single post, hit the "quote" button in the top right of the post. The syntax of the quote header is complex, and requires a lot of information you won't have to hand. You can also use bare quote tags. For example, this: - [quo te]In other words if you were town and not the top three or four in the vote count why would all your posts be about the couple of vote for you when you have no chance of being voted off. I would change my vote if I felt any of the top vote holders at this point were scum, as I hate to waste my vote.[/quote] results in this. (That's D02.582 incidentally.)

Thanks for helping - Now how do you add comments? The quotes are wrapped in[quo te] and [/quo te] tags. Make sure that you type your comments outside those tags. Also, preview your post before submitting. Preview is your friend. As an aside, I deliberately fouled up the quote tags by inserting empty formatting tags in the middle, so the parser didn't ID them as actual tags. I don't believe there are such things as "noparse" tags on proboards.

At least one scum died, but a huge loss for town Am going to go back though the posts of Day one and sorry I didn't know we could talk at nights until now If you had these suspicions, why didn't you post them before right now? This seems scummy to me. I don't even feel like you are pretending to care. vote: michelehunterI have one question: Pretending to care about what here?

I'm still catching up, but I want to answer this from Septimus. My question to experienced players: How common is this Crazy role (I'd never heard of it), and is it a likely role for Idle to inject into this game? I'm thinking of moving my vote to Lianne. I have "UNTIL SATURDAY at NOON (AZ time)" to make up my mind. The Crazy Townie is a role that has been used on this board in the past, but it fell out of favour. Idle has used it in the past here. It may be that I'm the only player in this game who also played in Asylum Lane, a game I specifically remember. It was in that game I asked JSexton to use his Crazy Townie kill on Blaster Master so I could call BINGO! I've been wanting to do that for four years... Anyway, yes Idle has included a Crazy Townie in past games.

And then has a BS explanation that she likes to read everything before participating. That is Bogus if she is town because why not try and help. That's not necessarily BS. I for one don't like unnecessary repetition - both because it's a waste of your time reading the fifth person saying the same things, and because the issue might have been done and dusted, and raising it again is incredibly frustrating. I can see other players thinking the same way. Just because you play one way doesn't mean that the opposite way is not valid.

Please show me where in the rules of the game it says I have to clutter up the board with a post that really isn't necessary to help anyone decide who to vote or not vote for? If and when I see something that really catches my attention that no one else has already addressed thoroughly I will ask or state it. Until then I CHOOSE NOT to waste people's time by posting something totally irrelevant. At first glance this looks rather sensible however, what if we all took that stand? No one would look suspicious because no one would post anything. This is a game of words, so use them. We could all decide to vote just before EOD and then where would we be? Without a game Don't you find anyone suspicious? What are your thoughts on what players are saying? This post is really pinging the hell out of me. Unvote dizzymrslizzy
Vote LadyRogueI find the fact that dizzymrslizzy goes out of her way to misdirect attention away from herself towards someone else day after day very suspect.

I have one question: Pretending to care about what here? When michelehunter originally said: Well I guess it's too late for me to post my suspicions about lightfoot who had 3 people on her list and then voted me when I was supposed to be 3rd on her list. At least one scum died, but a huge loss for town I don't believe that she cares that it was a "huge loss for town." Her whole post comes off with the wrong tone for me; it makes me think that she is happy about the town deaths, rather than sad (even with the face).

RichBeckman, LOL, but I'll answer your comment seriously. In a game of this size it's safest and easiest for quite a while for scum to hide. But the best way is to hide in plain sight (post enough so that you look like you're contributing, but don't take many stands). It could be entirely coincidental but that's the feeling I'm getting from you. <snip> LOL! Excellent! You understood that I was being a smart ass at the same time I was making a serious point. Without the aid of a smiley. As to lack of content, this is my first game and I bring to it an unfortunate tendency to take people at their word. I have gotten to the point where other's claims of scum tells is making sense to me, but it is still hard for me to identify it on my own.

Go Girl............. I always thought you was crazy michelle but in a nice way On a more serious note I have a few ideas who to vote for but as I seem to be in bed when the majority of you lot are posting I seem to be mirroring all your ideas, I come on the board to have a read and catch up to find when I get to the last page someone has already said the exact same thing I was going to say and if I post it too it looks like I am just copying I will say at the moment my vote is undecided I have yet to see annem post anything and I cannot understand why after his blow up in Day 0 meeko has gone all 'meek' ... did scum have a go at him to calm down on Night 1 I wonder ? So basically you are just agreeing with everyone on here and even make a drive by smudge on Meeko. Typically if you are trying to say something without really saying something is scummy in my book. You don't want to take a stand of your own and you would rather just blend in...
