Just to let you know that in most Mafia games, there is no game talk at Night. Most MODS only allow fluff talk at Night. Fluff talk means non-game talk? Well if that's the case, then even more reason for me not to vote for her. I am not saying not vote for her, I have no idea the truth to her claim, just letting you know the norm for Night talk. ;D

What happens in the case of a tie? It depends on the Mod. Some say that who ever got the most votes first will be lynched and others leave it to Random.org.

Unvote DizzyMrsLizzy (downgrade to FOS) Vote Michele HunterExplanation being I am an idiot. Somehow I totally missed where she initially claimed vanilla town and then claimed Crazy Town. My guess is her role claim is truthful, alignment claim is false, which means all of us who vote for her are in danger, but that is what it is.

RichBeckman, LOL, but I'll answer your comment seriously. In a game of this size it's safest and easiest for quite a while for scum to hide. But the best way is to hide in plain sight (post enough so that you look like you're contributing, but don't take many stands). It could be entirely coincidental but that's the feeling I'm getting from you. <snip> LOL! Excellent! You understood that I was being a smart ass at the same time I was making a serious point. Without the aid of a smiley. As to lack of content, this is my first game and I bring to it an unfortunate tendency to take people at their word. I have gotten to the point where other's claims of scum tells is making sense to me, but it is still hard for me to identify it on my own. Rereading Day Two now and my characterization of you was unfair. You have taken stands and contributed content, so I retract my FOS.

I forgot to mention this before but Susan K Murphy is pinging me too. She seems to post just enough to avoid suspicion but it's all about being a newbie. Of course, she IS a newbie and I forget what it was like to be thrown into one of these games. But it's pinging my scum radar enough to mention. I am a newbie, and I was recruited from the PackRat scavenger hunt which finished yesterday so will now hopefully have more time to contribute and keep up to date. Hope to allay your pings! Understood. Didn't know your big game was on.

I just spluttered my coffee everywhere!! I assume you're not British - otherwise that's way too much information!! I'm British and just about fell off my chair too Being American and curious, I had to look that up. All I can say is we've taken fluff to a whole new level here.

Let me clarify that I am not voting for him/her because it is a one-off vote, that was tidbit of possible summyness on his/her part. I am voting him/her (Sorry not sure of the gender) because of voting for someone for lurking when in fact they are lurking as well and contributed nothing at this point.
I am playing catch up still with both days and players with being a sub for someone and starting at Day2. I am going player by player and reading all posts at this point. To place a vote on one of the top lynch leaders would be unfair without fully reading all their posts. I started with the ones that posted the least...

My screen is very screwed up now and I don't know what's going, I've never seen this before. It makes it very difficult to read and as I don't know what's wrong, I can't fix it. Ginger, are posts showing normally for you? (Trying to figure out if I screwed something up or if there's a problem with the board.)

They are showing the same for me as you see. Purple and to the right... I first clicked on Post without typing anything, not sure if that screwed everything up. Hence the first post where all you saw was the quote.

I think someone's post found a corner case in the message-board software.
Post #638 has an unmatched [ / quote ]. There's a 6.5513% chance deleting that will fix the problem.

I am going to vote for mchelle71. This is because of the way confusing kerfluffle over the MafiaWars level, versus being new at mafia games, which appeared in a series of conflicting posts. At first I thought the confusion might have a simple explanation. But then I read the suggestion that the scum have separate boards, and she mistakenly referred to a post on a scum board in her posts here on the main boards. I buy that explanation. Vote Mchelle71That was my thought, but it turns out that the post she was referencing was in the first thread Idle started about this game: idlemafia.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=temp&thread=1906&page=1The 23rd post on the page: So, one of the first packratters...and I was level 477 on Mafia Wars until I got tired of it last year. Hope it's similar ] Michelle Thanks for finding it richbeckman. I knew I'd said it, and I knew it was somewhere in here, though here is all a jungle to me. I'll be another town kill if you keep voting for me, and I can't participate much until I have the two final papers submitted on Monday to close this semester. Perhaps I was supposed to die young though? Nah, I'm not supposed to die young. Don't vote for inexperience posting just because you can!! ;-)

There's a borked tag in the post by Archangel I'm quoting. Let's see if fixing it clears up the problem. Bleached And what do you call what you are doing? This seems like a one off vote to me, maybe a place to play it safe. JBG, while I agree completely with your reasoning here, is not your vote on her/him also a one-off safe vote? The problem with this is you're suggesting that refusal to follow the herd, and only vote for one of the leading bandwagons is anti-Town play. That's simply wrong. By and large, a player should vote their convictions. If I'm really convinced that (say)Paranoia is a Mafiate, then I should vote him. Unless I become convinced that, for some reason, it's better to lynch (say) Hal Briston over guiri. Then I would vote for Hal, and try and persuade others to. It may not be that I think Hal is Mafia - it might be that I am convinced that she's vanilla Town, but guiri is a Town power role.

Where to start with my suspicions and reasoning and vote! Lots of posts have 'pinged' for me, but at the moment two players are standing out to me as suspects for scum: michelehunter and lianne. Michele almost certainly had my vote toDay, as a few things didn't add up from what she said. The main one that pinged me was that she claimed to have played Mafia before but then said she didn't know until now that we could talk at Night. I'm a newbie, and this was obvious to me! Maybe she didn't talk at Night because she was too busy talking in secret with her scum buddies? Then the whole Crazy Town thing, very confusing to understand all the reasonings that people have given as to why Michele might have claimed that when she did, but to me it seemed like the desperate actions of scum about to be found out. However, then this: For those who are suspicious of Michelle's claiming vanilla town and then later claiming to have a role: Re: Day 0---CONFIRM HERE. [navy]Reply #52 on May 5, 2012, 11:16am Colby11[/navy] wrote: Of course, Michelle has not pointed to this as her justification, and it may be meaningless; but I find it weird that this advice was given, but when someone follows it, she is accused of being scum. It seems very reasonable now that Michele would do that. I just hope I've not just been diverted by richbeckman looking after a scum buddy! So, no vote for Michele. Instead I will be voting for lianne at this point. Don't go crazy those of you who need precise and exact reasonings, I don't know exactly why I'm voting for her, other than several posts that were very defensive: Why do you say that? I don't understand that logic. It's like someone is accusing you of something you didn't do. Plus we want the vote to go on someone who is Scum so anyone who is Town that gets a vote feels like that vote is being wasted (well that's what it feels like to me). Lots of people used this logic on Day 1 and voted for defensive behaviour as being indicative of scum, but we got it wrong. starrirain was Town. And yes the last one is exactly what I am doing. And you are aligning yourself with starrirain in order to convince me that you are town - this, along with the other defensive posts, just feels scummy: Vote: lianneThere are others on my radar: guiri for reasons given in Day 1, Mahaloth for being a very quick bandwagon jumper, and Meeko, well just because he is annoying, rude, and also very very defensive. But these 3 can wait until another Day, if I'm still here! Also I want a bunny too Yay! [/quote] Well I think my absence from talking with anyone at all was more to do with writing important papers for the degree I'm currently taking and not because I'm scheming in private as scum. I've said before I'm town and I will say again I'm town, and most of you haven't a clue what behaviour constitutes either since starrirain had plenty of votes and not just mine. I'm going to read through the posts and then post my vote!

I don't disagree with anything you said here. I had a problem with Ginger calling out someone for a one-off vote (for valid reasons) and then making a one-off vote. Her explanation indicates she has a good reason for doing so.

Archangel, my hypothesis was wrong. It turned out to be 638, which was JBGs.
I believe that Lianne is currently in the lead by 8 votes to 7. I'll review posts quickly after tea to see who I want to vote for.

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore so I deleted mine that MHaye said may have caused the problem, but it's still screwed up (and I saw the explanation that it was the wrong post after deleting it). :/ Idle, let the record show I deleted a post because I thought it caused this board problem, but it's still visible where MHaye quoted it and where I did. Those quotes show the post in its entirety.
