The difference with other roles is that since generally only scum have a NK, if the town doc accidentally protects a scum, no biggie since generally their odds of choosing the same target as the scum are pretty low. A town cop also rarely risks negative consequences for a bad result and really the only bad result they can get is being blocked. But a governor who interferes with a scum lynch? I would not want to be that guy.

But nothing about this game is 'general. Town docs can interfer with Town vigs. Town mislynches themselves to dire straights all the time.

And her powers do not appear to involve any mandatory lynch-stopping.

I don't believe that Pollux would give scum an unlynchable role.<snip> That makes sense, but that is part of the PM I do not believe. Here is BillMc's side by side: www.idlemafia.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=poll&thread=2050&page=9#99532The first one was posted in a rush, the second one posted when she had time to work on it. If she started with the second one, she got to the first one in a hurry and only blew the hostile/non-hostile?? It makes more sense to me that she started with something very similar to the first one, make minor adjustments on the run blowing the hostile/non-hostile and then with more time came up with the second one. I admit that the second one is quite impressive work. But I think starting with the second and editing done to the first while rushed is equally impressive. Every time I look at Ginger's case, I find more reason to vote for her. This is such a dead horse by now. You will see that I will not be lynched toDay. Now having said that if there is a day vig, they could kill me. I agree that my "Judge" role is not very helpful to Town due to the fact that I have no idea who is town, scum, or 3rd party. So if I decide to save someone from a lynch, I am doing it blind. The pro town power that I have is that as long as I am alive you get as much info about the person that is lynched, meaning you get their alignment and role. If I am dead, your information is limited. Not sure what it is limited to, but limited non the less.

I am done defending myself for this Day...
So as far as Colby's claim, who knows if it is true or not but what strikes me as odd is that Pizza is very sure of it. Even when Colby soft claimed and I have yet to see an actual hard claim by him, Pizza never once doubted it.
For Crys claiming and editing her PM and everything, I would be the pot calling the kettle black if I started excusing her of things. I know why I did what I did, but I have no idea about her.
All the talk has been about Crys, Colby and myself so it is hard to really come to a conclusion and vote. I don't want to vote for a town role like a recruiter if in fact that is what Colby is. I would then vote a 3rd party, but most of you are or so we are assuming... Will have to really think about it. I cannot do a reread of this Day without some type of pain reliever... Rum please, where is Cap Pinkies when I need him.

I would be interested in opinions on what good Ginger's role is for Town or 3rd Party. There is nothing in her power to give her more info than any of the rest of us have, so what basis does she have on which to make a decision to save someone? But if she is Scum, her power is extremely useful. She can save Scum from the lynch. And she can do it with near impunity right up until the time someone she saves dies by other means and flips Scum (but even that does not necessarily convict her of being Scum or stop her from saving more Scum). As Town or 3rd Party, she could as easily be hurting her self/team as helping since she really does not know who she is saving. Add to this the comment AskThePizzaGuy made: <snip> A weak bodyguard role is not critical. If town begins with 6-7 roles or whatever Skeezix said was there a couple rounds ago, each role is particularly necessary. Likely a town vig, but also possible there is no starting town vig and there are a couple recruitable third party killers, which become town vigs. My role complements such a vigilante. Town converter, obviously. Doctor, as we already know. Starting town detective. Possible masons. I don't see a weak bodyguard fitting into that equation as starting town. Granted, all that is pure speculation, but it does not strike me as idle. Given the supposedly small numbers of Town, how does Ginger's role fit into the balance equation? I am giving JBG a buy toDay in case she is third party and can be recruited or is actually town. Like others I don't see her powers as logical for a balanced game as scum. As far as her town powers/balance equation, I think the stop the lynch, put the player in prison may work to ameliorate the "OH NOES, I voted for the merc too high, please don't kill me toDay" meme that has come up the past two Days. It would give town powers an extra night to maybe investigate merc voters and the crazy merc voters more time to plead their case. I post this after drinking lotsowine and cold meds....

Colby hasn’t actually posted a claim He’s just alluded to his role and shared some information ( which proves nothing)
Easy enough to do
Give him some rope? Well yes we could do that
Unvote: colby
he's still a fly in the ointment til he proves something- he's had enough time for a re-write

crys has become quite popular in votes just recently
She’s admitted to being third party- mad bomber-
Would we get more data if we lynched an unclaimed player?
crys If you’re not going to pursue your win-con then what is your motivation for playing?

Sharing that bit may have prevented a high bidder for the Merc from feeling ‘safe’ atleast this Day? Since there was so much chatter about you being voted?

A recipe for treading water. The merc gets the lynch, Ginger saves them, the merc winner is in jail and, I bet, unable to utilize the merc and so no one gets lynched or killed by the merc, and nothing is learned from the lynch or the merc.

Ok, after re-reading:
Vote: Colby
I'm just not satisfied with his explanations. Also, I don't understand why he tried to recruit Pleo, then voted him. I know he said he wasn't sure he was able to recruit him, but why try and then vote someone? It just doesn't make sense.
Vote: Pizza
I think he's scum in cahoots with Colby. I think they came up with a brilliant plan (their roleclaims) together to throw us off their trail.

Now what I want to know is why isn't anyone but me taking a closer look at Red skeezix?? We just accept that he somehow knows how many town and scum there are?? Did any of you stop to think of the possibilities this could mean IF he is in fact correct and what possible wincon scenarios there might be?

What exactly have we learned from people bidding on the Merc without the benefit of such services? That KidV (whatever he is) apparently self protected, and that our dead Doc probably shouldn't have been bidding in the first place. I'll take treading water over the sinking that is getting the Doc day-killed any day. And from a mechanic perspective, I don't know that the Merc wouldn't be able to function if the bid winner were incarcerated. People put hits out on other people from jail all the time. I doubt we'll get an answer because such an answer would involve mod-confirming that there is such a mechanic as jail.

And you're correct, presumably Town won the merc twice and we have learned nothing and killed no Scum. I think we should try a Day or two of trying to lynch Scum rather than worry about the merc.

It states that the person I decide to save, gets put in prison and is able to talk for a Night and Day BUT UNABLE to use NIGHT OR DAY Actions. It is a assumption that if this person won the bid for the merc that it would be considered part of their powers, but I really don't know.

The one thing that scum love is for town to mis-lynch another townie. In my head, posting that I was un-lynchable would be oh so prime for a NK. Think about it, the only way to get rid of me would be a NK, of course I have a target for a NK...

The Once is for the #1 power of Judge where I can send one person to prison only one time per game. The part of being unlynchable states as follows: 3. Executioner: While you are alive, players get maximum information from the lynch. If you die, their information will be reduced. In addition, since you're the executioner, you're immune to lynch because hey, you're not going to kill yourself.
