*For those of you who don't know, I went back to college as a 40 year old undergrad. Completely OOG but seriously: go you! And I won't wish you luck on your finals because you won't need it, but I hope the study sessions are useful and keep us (me) posted. I did something similar at 30.

I won't be around to close the Day right away. I'll count any vote posted 9:32 or earlier, and the thread will be fluff-only from that point on please. I'll start a Night thread as soon as I can. Non-Town factions, you're welcome to begin your dastardly discrete deliberations on your respective boards at 9:33.
The deadline for Night actions will be Tuesday 12/4 at 12:59 PM MST. Day Two should be up shortly thereafter.

Does that paradigm hold true for THIS game? Perhaps, the shift in paradigm will bring you caution.

Now that the countdown has started, I suggest we play the waiting game and/or finalize our votes.
I tend to see votes on candidates that have no votes at this juncture to be a deliberate no-vote, either the sign of a townie/neutral unwilling to, you know, actually attempt to win the game that they're playing, or the vote of a scum who doesn't wish to be responsible for the death of a townie.
Such cautious play is anti-town, and noticeably scummy in the pizza playbook.

Snipped Suburban Plankton: I was actually close to voting for Suburban prior to my re-read, but in my opinion, his wagon is a mess. Here's the post that seems to have gotten Subs into a lot of hot water. I get that it's a joke. In my opinion, this is not a good reason to vote for Suburban Plankton. No big deal, though; I totally understand, and even considered joining, the votes for his random-then-not-so-random vote for LightFoot. That's a great reason for a Suburban day 1 vote! Seems that by itself should be enough for people. And yet, that's not why a lot of Sub's voters are voting for him. And that makes me raise my eyebrow at the whole affair. After the post I quoted up above, Wombat, Sister Coyote, dizzymrslizzy, Colby11, and Total Ullz swap over to the Suburban train. Here's their reasoning: 1) Wombat does not mention the random vote, and places a vote on Suburban in part for his joking quote of Pizza. The other half is for Suburban pointing out LightFoot's split personality. 237 2) Sister Coyote jumps in with a me-two vote for the same reason. 238 3) Dizzymrslizzy posts a me-two as well in 239 (to be fair, dizzy does not vote. Merely voices approval). 4) Colby11 posts another me-two vote in 283 5) LightFoot makes a post I agree with in 286 6) Total Ullz makes a case I can agree with all the way in 338 So, of the people voting for expressing suspicion of Suburban, I can agree with only LightFoot and Total Ullz. I'm not liking my odds on the Surburban train. Wombat, Sister Coyote, dizzymrslizzy, and Colby11 all seem to be taking an easy route to me. I think the odds are good some of them are trying to push a mislynch rather than voting honestly, which (in a four faction game) gives me less info than I'd like. Still, this is not a wagon I'd like to hitch my horse to. Suburban's random vote wasn't an issue for me at the time, since it was still fairly early in the Day; my original case against him still stands, and now leaving a random vote this close to EOD is another point against him. Your defense of Suburban has a whiff of trying-to-save-a-teammate about it. (I did think that was a good point about Chucara, though)

Reasoning, apparently is something you can ignore. Why the vote for me, exactly? Does that paradigm hold true for THIS game? Perhaps, the shift in paradigm will bring you caution. Hmmmmm.....you have a vote and suddenly you have something to discuss...... you got me there. Call me crazy, but if I can avoid a misslynch, I would. I don't follow you. Why would I not discuss a vote against me? Furthermore, unless I'm mistaken, it's day one. Day one in a set up that I have never played in, and I've been in all the games here since the new comers, so I know it's their first time in this set up as well. I didn't and still don't see the case on peeker, and I don't see the cases on anyone else. Nothing to say, so why say anything? But it is kind of a double standard, at the point that I an saying something that you still balk. Damned if you do, damned if you don't catch 22. You are saying something at my saying something. And that, is actually saying something.

Did a very Quick reread, and it is obvious the peeker lynch isn't going to happen.. Out of the current candidates, I feel the case against Mahaloth is the best.
unvote all vote Mahaloth
In regards to my LG "claim" I didn't consider it to be a problem.. In my mind, we still have to discuss the strategy regarding the third parties, and I didn't think more of it than I would've done in a normal game and saying I was town.

"Just because I don't play like you doesn't mean I'm Scum." In fact, in the first game we played together, your advice to me was to vote for who I thought was scummiest, even if it was the only vote for someone. That's what I'm doing toDay. My vote stands. ;D

Your defense of Suburban has a whiff of trying-to-save-a-teammate about it. (I did think that was a good point about Chucara, though) Sure. I accepted as I was typing that post that someone would suggest I was defending Suburban. If he flips CE, that'll probably look pretty bad for me. I decided early on in my mafia career that if I saw a bad case, I'd call it out regardless of how it makes me look. I've posted about this philosophy in nearly every game I've been in, so maybe some of the regulars I've played with might remember this from our past games. Thanks for weighing in on Chucara, by the way. ------------------------------- Pizza, in your opinion, did anyone flinch or otherwise provide tells with their votes?

Based on the case I made earlier and the lack of response to any of my points Vote: Suburban Plankton FOSing here Meeko your participation is incredibly different from previous experience And your responses when called on it seem rather flippant It’s not an attractive outfit on you
Again, this is a catch 22 situation. Any response will be the wrong one. As I understand the set up, there are four factions, roughly equal to each other, and a win can only happen with two factions surviving that are somewhat allied to each other. So, in that manner of speaking, we are all, to at least one other person, """scum""". Did I use enough quote marks there?
