Dawn comes up and everyone starts walking to the town hall for another day of Psychopath finding. Along the way, though, someone stumbles over a book sticking out of the ground. As the people cluster around, they find it's a IQ puzzle book and upon pulling it from the ground, see someone's mutilated head beneath it.
Seems the Psychopaths had struck again and buried the victim here with the book as a crude grave marker.
The relevance of the book wasn't lost on them either...it was apparent to all of them...
Dnooman, a Genius, had been buried for good.

I had been looking at dnooman after I read those last two posts to see what I could come up with. He had been riding Mal/NAF pretty hard all game.
Scum trying to set up Mal? or Scum trying to get dnoo off Mals back?
I know Mal has been walking on thin ice. I have always thought he was pro-town throughout the game.I am gonna review Mal and see if i change my mind.
Posting about dnoo at the end of Night3 seems almost to transparent of a thing for scum to do...but BlaM and Diggit have an HOS from me now.

Why would posting about dnooman at the end of the Night be "transparent"? What would be accomplished by posting about him?

Making a post saying "gee it sure looks like Dnooman is scum" right before you killed him would be a great way for scum to gain townie cred. But it feels a tad blunt to me. So I ask you, which glass has the iolcaine powder?

I don't have much of an opinion on Diggit's play cuz he generally doesn't post much any any game I have played with him,but I would be amazed if BlaM tried such a stunt...which may be what he is counting on. Now where is that Iocane?

Now where is that Iocane? I get the opposite sense-- Blam's post was well-reasoned and had an air of truthiness about it, as if he actually meant it. Diggit's was a bit offhand, throwaway, subtly flavored, almost possible to overlook, and if it went sour (like it is) he can explain "well Blam said it first. . ."

Mal's posts may be sins suffered unto the son, but the son and father may be scum. genetics, you see. NAF doesn't get a pass because he's new, because his role is NOT new (and all of his "Gee, shucks! I ain't done nuthin'" posts in the night thread smell funny to me). Unfortunately we can no longer ask Mal to clarify any of his old posts, which, frankly, sucks.

I was just trying to clarify something. And, of course, I had overlooked that Mad had not actually overlooked that point. As to the other point, IMHO it doesn't even reach WIFO status in my eyes. To mention someone's scumminess whilst killing them off would be, frankly, stupid. YMMV. It's not the first time I mentioned his possible scumminess, based on drainbead's last few posts.. Nor was I the first. 1. This post by Mad the Swine started speculation on that topic (apparently he attributes this theory to nesta, but I don't see why) 2. Only afterwards did I second him

I hadn't read Day 2 or 3 yet, and if I was walking into a situation where I didn't stand a chance of making it to the end of the Day toDay, I wasn't going to bother putting in the time. I would be happy to just thow in a few glib comments and maybe talk Idle into letting me write my own death scene. Now that I have read Day 2 and 3...well, I walked into a bad situation. But Day 3 was entertaining enough to make it worth while.

Well, damnit... I thought I was onto something.
I have to say, it doesn't make much sense to me to throw FOSs at me and Diggit for commenting on dnooman. I had just re-read, and had an idea and shared it while it was fresh on my mind since we can at Night. Hell, I'm surprised the psychos still went after him, because it is generally in their interest to leave people with suspicion alive as subterfuge.
What that means to me is that, despite a raised level of suspicion, they probably had a read on him strong enough to make killing him worth the risk.

Darn it, who am I supposed to suspect now? Runoff post count (with strikethrough denoting dead people): JSexton - diggitcamara, dotchan, Malacandra (third vote again! ), BlasterMaster, MadtheSwine, nesta, storyteller, mhayeMal - capybara, dnoomanDid not vote - JSexton (hospitalized ), Roosh (vacation), GreedySmurf ( ) Anyway...I still want to give Roosh a minor FOS for his abstention vote. He knew he was going on vacation, and even though Day Three wasn't that far in at the time he had two full Days worth of posting on which to base a vote. I'm also not sure what to make of GreedySmurf's vote to tie Malacandra with JSexton, and his later non-vote in the runoff. But there's enough there for me to FOS GreedySmurf. Acutal vote to come tomorrow, hopefully.

He knew he was going on vacation, and even though Day Three wasn't that far in at the time he had two full Days worth of posting on which to base a vote. And *I* would like to FOS Dotchan for doing the same thing on Day One-- without even the excuse of work or anything to justify it and being there the whole day and not coming out with a vote-- and being all over everybody else all night and day for this. I'm not serious, really, but this is really your biggest scum lead?

And by the way, NOW can we start wondering why the scum killed someone or is that still supposed to be anti-town?
I think it matters whether they killed Dnooman out of luck or if they rather figured out somehow that he was a genius. If the geniuses have tipped their hats somehow. . . isn't that a bad thing?
I'm not saying I think it's a good idea for any of them to claim (NOT FISHING!) but, the forbidden question: Why Dnooman? He was on the suspect-list of several players, something that usually causes the scum to leave a player alone since it's noise that helps them. Why did they make an exception this time? Had they decided that he was close enough to being onto someone to be too dangerous and worth the risk? (Or, what Blaster said in Post #16)

I think it is a good thing a genius was killed assuming there are (were) three of them.If a genius was not killed,I believe the smarties woulda went after a genius only win. I don't think they can take that risk now.

Well, uh, OK then? I know what I think too. Did that statement help anyone? Of course not. Out with it Mad, if you think I'm scum tell me (and everyone) why. Or is this some clever "see how many scum vote for nesta" ploy like you tried in M5?
For the record, I really hate when people do this. See my case against JSexton. Justify your votes and FOSes. Just voting like this hurts the town.

Your case against Jsexton wasn't very good, was it? This is an odd attack, Mad. Like. . . uh. . . didn't you vote for JSexton? Didn't many people? Like, everyone but me, apparently? Did you not think JSexton was scum, Mad? Why did you vote for him? I thought Nesta's (and everyone else's) arguments against JSexton were weak, but then again, I didn't vote for him. How do you resolve your own action there, Mad? I'm not getting a big scum vibe from Nesta, but then again you aren't helping us see what you're seeing with this winking and nudging and if I'm missing something massive. . .
