Ok. I'm worried that I may go insane tomorrow due to a delayed reaction, as Parzival suggested. To put all the cards on the table, should that happen, here's my full claim, in paraphrase form:
I'm a protean. Basically, I'm an experiment that is only partially formed. I really really really want to escape more than anything. I want to be free and explore the world. Because of this, I have the habit of wandering around at night. Each night I select a player and wander near them. The result of what happens depends on what that player's role is. I win if I escape.
I am hoping that I'm on the "town" side, but honestly I don't know. My role says nothing about killing or exclusive wins. Night One I wandered to Total, as I previously stated. Last Night I wandered over to NAF and learned that he is like me. If we both survived the night we were going to get a secret board on which we could talk, but since he went insane it didn't happen.
After being put in the machine, I received the special ability of being able to change the color of my skin. This allowed me to hide out for a Night and be immune to everything, one time. I used it last Night. I wasn't informed if anyone attempted any actions on me.
That's basically it. Do with me what you will. I have the terrible feeling that I'm going insane tomorrow anyway.

Hmm, I hate to say it, but if you think you go insane anyway, we may as well see what happens if someone goes in the machine twice - it may cure you?

Or are you alike only because you both survived the machine?

Here's the PM I received stating I'm like NAF (paraphrased):
During the night, you wander over to NAF. When you get close to him you realize he is another unfinished experiment like you! The two of you might be able to escape together if only you could convince him to agree.
It then said that we'd get our own board if we both survived. We didn't.
I have no problem being put in the machine again.

If FCOD is telling the truth, I tend to believe that he is town. So if we put him in the machine, we are lynching someone from town. But if we don't and we try to lynch someone else, maybe they get to join FCOD on this other board. Is that good or bad for town?
I wonder about the death wish, though. I think that based on FCOD's role, he has some power to avoid a lynch - whether that's just once or not we don't know but I'm thinking if we try again and fail, we've lost yet another Day without town killing anyone.
We don't know if NAF went insane because of the machine or because he somehow only partially survived some Night attack. And if FCOD has a different role than NAF, who knows what will happen to him - maybe nothing (assuming we don't try to lynch him again).
And now with our doctor gone, will anyone survive the machine? I think there is a possibility but who knows - maybe hockeyguy was affecting the lynch somehow.
I would like to know the difference between insane and dead. Mister Blockey says we don't need to know but I'm still curious.

I'm not as sure as others that FCoD's powers are the sort of thing that a Townsperson (whatever that is in this game; human, probably, but that's another topic) would get.
If I were designing a Mad Science game, a Protean is what I'd call a shapeshifter - a role that could assume the appearance and nature of another player - or, in Mafia speak, copy their powers.
If that is the case, then his "wandering around" is his cover - that the person he just casually "wanders around" to is the one who's power he steals for the following Night. It appears he went to see NAF last Night, so maybe he copied NAF.
Now, NAF claimed that he had political powers; that is, he could fiddle with the vote. But I didn't see any vote shenanigans Yesterday, which calls that into question for me. I personally think it more probable that NAF was the killer in Night 1 (and 2), and that NAF's super strength (derived from his third arm) is what enabled him to kill Total in one hit, overcoming her resilience.
FCoD might then, on this theory, have gained a Nightkill power.
Who knows what will happen if we put him back in the chair, but I think that's the best shot we have.

I'm conflicted: Should we be looking for someone else to put into the machine? Or is it possible that sending FCoD back into it for another lynch will help Town?
I guess this is as good a test to see which theory plays out.

Well that little FCOD bandwagon picked up steam very quickly - including a self vote.
Ok, thats got me suspicious -- does he actually want to go back in the machine? Is he sacrificing himself to protect others?
Mitey and SisterC seem to be in hiding.
So if FCOD is going insane anyway....lynching him is a waste.

My feeling is that if hockeybuy diminished 'negative effects' of the Machine, that he was preventing worse things from happening to those who went in. Perhaps without that NAF and/or FCoD could have been out of action. Since there's a resurrection mechanism, perhaps NAF would have grown a third arm and also gone insane. Perhaps the insanity was a delayed mechanism, and FCoD's doomed tomorrow. Keep in mind that's speculation. I have no special knowledge. I still think the game is something like traditional Mafia. There's some elements that have already and will continue to kill people, call them 'scum' if you will. The only way we as a group might stop them is with the Machine. I propose that if anyone wants to go in the Machine, they need to give us an explanation, either a full claim or a detailed description of what they think its effects will be on their character, since some of the color appears to reflect on that. I'm concerned that you are asking for claims here. I know that this is not really a traditional game so you might get away with this kind of post. At the same time, though, we clearly have some power roles (hopefully not just the one - hockeyguy) so this is a good way to get someone to claim. We've got FCOD wanting to go into the machine, maybe in an effort to get others to want to go in and then you asking them to claim in order to make a case (presumably for us to vote for them). Hopefully this post is enough to keep any power roles from claiming and/or wanting to go into the machine but this suggestion strikes me as pro-scum. Vote Parzival

I am still concerned about putting people in the machine that want to go in the machine. Why waste a lynching if FCOD thinks he might go insane anyway. Let's give someone else a shot and hopefully do in the one of those who is killing town at night.

So after a re-read from my laptop I will apologise and withdraw the comment and vote Unvote: SisterCoyote So Mitey is definitely in stealth mode, may be she knows the machine will be fatal to her and is trying to avoid attracting attention? As the day winds to a close, once again FCOD walks voluntarily to the machine. There is a great deal of whirring and clicking and stabbing, and injecting, and buzzing, but FCOD comes out of the machine with no noticeable changes whatsoever.
It is now Night 3. Night 3 will end at noon eastern on Tuesday.
