The sun rises on FCOD wandering around the center of the castle gibbering to himself. He has gone completely insane. Investigating his person reveals his form to be somewhat malleable. He appears to be a protean man, most likely the person the Mad Doctor was looking for, now useless.
A head count shows that someone else is missing, and after some looking Timmywhofellinawell is found in his room in several pieces. He appears to have been mauled by a large animal. In his room a great deal of accelerants and tinder are found. Timmy was a pyro, a compulsive killer.
It is now Day 4. Day 4 will end at approximately noon eastern on Friday.

So does anyone have a sense how many many town/scum/third party we have in this game? We already have two dead third party (I think - again, I am assuming the purple type means third party, especially considering we now see a dead scum (red)). I'm thinking town is doing pretty well right now considering there are only two dead town and three dead/insane scum/third party players.
By the way, I'm not asking anyone to claim. I'm just wondering based on others' knowledge of mafia and balancing, given that we started with X number of players, there is a good chance there are X scum, Z town, etc..

We may well be staying alive, but I do have a feeling that the town needs to solve something, not just eliminate scum. So numbers-wise it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't many, and speculation really gets us nowhere. In fact, the apparent cheerleading for town makes me mildly suspicious of you, metallicsquink.
To go back to something from yesterday that I didn't get to respond to - I think there's quite a difference between asking people in general to claim (which I was not doing) and requiring someone who is volunteering for a somewhat unknown task to explain themselves. Note that I didn't even demand a full claim, just a role-related reason. My concern was that perhaps FCoD was a scum player that wanted to go in the machine, giving scum extra powers.

For the same reason as yesterday. He was instrumental in stopping the timmy lynch and lynching the insane FCOD for the second time instead. That was a lost lynch.

I was reading back through the color regarding the Night Kills. I noticed that TL was burned and there was a charred smell around hockeyguy. Since timmy was a pyro, I think we can assume he killed those two.
Last Night, timmy was killed by a large animal.
So it seems we have more than one role who can kill at Night (although you'd think we would have had more than one kill each Night). Or maybe the scum have different roles and the color gives us hints as to which scum may have killed someone last Night.

I was thinking about my last post and it doesn't really make sense. I don't think the "large animal" was a scum since a scum was killed last Night.
So maybe each Night we do have more than one person out there killing but some are able to survive which is why we only have one kill each Night. On Night 1, Mister Blockey said that TL could have survive a less brutal attack - maybe that means she was visited by more than one killer and that's what did her in. Perhaps on other Night, the killers visited different people and some could survive and some not.

We were told that sometimes the color would be meaningful to the game, and sometimes it wouldn't. I think that the burning of TL and hockeyguy and timmy's outing as pyro are probably related.
I'm also not 100% convinced that being put in the machine is causing delayed insanity; what if someone else is causing the insanity but cleverly making it look like it's a result of being machined?
Finally, I don't have a vote yet for the day. Someone has to go in the Machine, the Mad Scientist told us that at the very beginning, but given that we don't know what the Machine is going to do to that person -- and we know it gave FCOD one Night's invisibility -- I don't know what to think.

Less than 10 posts on Day 4? Where is everybody?
Is it a coincidence that both NAF and FCOD survived the machine, went insane and are both inhuman? Does the machine make you inhuman? Or did they survive because they were inhuman to begin with?

Ok, I have something to share, since no one is doing anything and no one seems to want to vote for anyone.
I was visited by someone last night and my mind was somehow effected. I really really think we should but BillMc in the machine today.

I wonder if that means you are going to go insane.

sinjin, I reread your vote on BillMc so I see that you have your reasons. I guess my question now is whether you want BillMc to go into the machine for the reasons already stated or if you think he's the one who visited you (or both).

Both. He saved timmy and led the charge to get the insane FCOD machined after previously saying he didn't think it was a good idea to put people who were eager to go in the machine in the machine. I called him on it yesterday and today I am feeling funky in the head. I know no more than that. I don't want to lynch Mitey because she seems a little too eager for it. Lurk, lurk, lurk, then say ooooo please throw me into the briar patch when she gets a vote.

Interesting response considering many have said they don't want to vote for anyone who wants to go in the machine (and your comment is in a similar vein). This would be a good way to try to get people to take their votes off of you.

Just a sourceless message to put him back in -- and given you had already decided to vote for me because i originally but him in, say i had a message to put him back in would have hardly helped.

Just doing a rearead of Today.
There's something nagging at the back of my head that I want to try and trace down. Before I do that, did anyone else read Bill saying
"I received a message yesterday saying to put fcod back in" as
"I received a message yesterday saying to put food back in?"
Didn't think so.

What I thought I remembered was wrong.
NAF claimed to have been given political power, and that his votes had extra weight on Day 2. However, he left no active vote on Day 2 for us to see what happened. His only vote was for Sinjin, and he rescinded that.
I also thought that FCoD might have copied that power, but there is no sign of it in the Day 3 votecounts. There are several possibilities as to why, but right now I'm holding my eyes open by main force.
More tomorrow.

MHaye, NAF grew a third arm after going in the machine, gaining a vote. FCoD changed color and became chameleon-like. Both of those are just claims, but I'm inclined to believe them.
Okay, I would have voted MiteyMouse for lurking, but she seems happy to go in. BillMc doesn't mind either.
That's sort of our problem, isn't it? We're not sure exactly what happens when folks go in the machine. Presumably they tend towards 'failed experiment' from opening color. And in terms of gameplay, that's the only thing we have to fight the scum with (barring assorted power roles). That's assuming there is a traditional scum side, though at the very least there must be people like Timmy who mean us harm, and until we know otherwise I'm guessing he had others who knew him.
BillMC, any response to sinjin's accusation of visitation?

Vote BillMc [/color]
I am suspicious that he would vote for FCOD based on an anonymous PM especially since he didn't seem to know what the outcome would be (good for town or not).

MHaye, NAF grew a third arm after going in the machine, gaining a vote. FCoD changed color and became chameleon-like. Both of those are just claims, but I'm inclined to believe them. I remember where NAF's third arm came from. What I was looking for was evidence to support his claim of an extra vote. There is none, because he didn't leave a vote - unusual for NAF. Thus I'm not convinced of it's truth. As for FCoD, I suspect him of being a power-copier because of his role claim; that is, he acquires the powers of the person he visits. He claimed (iirc) to visit NAF N2. If that is correct, and FCoD was a power copier, and NAF was telling the truth, then FCoD's vote should have had extra weight Yesterday. It did not, so one of the links in that chain is wrong. I wasn't looking at the effect of the Chair on FCoD at all.
