Check day 0 I think it is. Someone posted that a quarter are scum and continued to say 1/4 of 60=15. Looking back I was enlightened as to how unlikely it is for the scum to all vote the same. But it's my first game so im learning. Hmm. Not totally convinced. I am also suspicious of LadyRogue, who popped up at the end of Day 1 too late to vote and then again at the end of Night 1 - was she rushing to vote on the Scum boards in the same way? And wombat99 who said But at least one townie will be killed at the end of Night, shouldn't we share our observations in case we are the one killed? when we didn't know that more than one person was going to die. And thirdly, SpecialEd for starting the votes which resulted in starrirain's death... This was just me having an awareness of the basic rules of play - scum get one night kill but there could be more kills.based on other roles. There was discussion on Day0 on how many kills per cycle it would take to keep the game a reasonable length.

Are there any experienced players who have been lurking under the radar who would have known to take out BillMc and Sister Coyote?

I really should go to bed but I was just wondering if anyone had spotted that francescaj might be the detective and found this... OK that's more than enough for me (with my earlier posts) Vote: SpecialEd
So, just to be clear, you think I'm Scum because I spotted francescaj's slip? And if so, why didn't I keep quiet and only tell my ScumBuddies instead of calling her out so that she might get some protection?

Prob a stupid NooB question and will put me under fire but I need to know.... Have I just not got the gist of the game or am I missing something here ... how did a scum get lynched, I thought it was scum who operated at night and knew who was on their 'team' so why did they lynch one of their own ? Confused.com A Vigilante role is a Town player who can kill at Night. That is likely what happened.

Catching up now. Sorry to see all go, especially BillMC, but not lightfoot. Just caught up. I'm not online on weekends, generally. Although we're allowed to talk at Night, I think it wiser to avoid doing so. But claiming on Night 0 is perfectly acceptable Posting always has risks. Risks of revealing information. Scum risk slipping their alignment or their teammates. Power roles risk revealing their power. Vanilla town risk looking like vanilla and thus increasing the odds a power role is killed. Yeah, something makes me think you are not a power role, underline mine. Go on, Pleonast, explain.

Yes Meeko, you are confusing ;D 4 Night kills, this game won't last too long if this continues so could there be one off kills somewhere? If I remember correctly, weren't there 2 roles that we weren't told about? I agree that there is most likely an older player on the scum side with the deaths of Sis C and BillMc and a detective, Francescaj. Hopefully with a game this size there will be more than one detective. Whoever killed LightFoot, well done. Probably an older player that's a Vig and could have picked her because of her one off vote on Michelehunter. What I don't understand are the votes on Michele now, would LightFoot really bus a fellow scum on D1. It is possible I know but why would she do it? To give Michele Town cred on D2? LightFoot couldn't have known she would be killed, in fact she could have felt quite safe at Night because she was scum. It would be different if there had been a bandwagon on Michele on D1 and she was up for a lynch, so I really can't see any motivation on LightFoots part for bussing a fellow scum that early on. General question about the boards: Can people have more than 1 account and would that be a scum tell? Why is this post from silverjan (lower case) on an acct with only 3 posts, and yesterday she was posting from Silver Jan (capitalized and space) with more posts? There was a similar LightFoot/lightfoot situation on Day0.

My working hypothesis is that there are 2 Vigs and 3 Scum kills (and Night 1 had a collision between two Killers or a Killer and a Doctor). Ok, How do you work this out. This is supposed to be a simple game, so the roles should be fairly simple. Wouldn't it be simpler to say that the three unknown roles are all extra NK's and belong to the scum or town, possibly that the two extra kills belong to the scum given who was hit and the single hit belongs to the town? So why do you think there are a possible five kills per Night?

Well I guess it's too late for me to post my suspicions about lightfoot who had 3 people on her list and then voted me when I was supposed to be 3rd on her list. At least one scum died, but a huge loss for town Am going to go back though the posts of Day one and sorry I didn't know we could talk at nights until now Wow, now that's a coincidence. But you seem to be accusing me of taking the heat off of a Scum teammate. Exactly when and where did I do that? And, if I did so, why haven't you identified my Scum teammate?

A Vigilante role is a Town player who can kill at Night. That is likely what happened. And isn't this just too helpful again? Pleasereview my earlier comment on how being helpful is a null tell. But to summarizeL 1. If I was Scum, I might want to appear helpful 2. If I was Town, I woud want to be helpful. Can you tell the difference?

This was quite a quick decision Special Ed? Why not make a quick decision and vote? Our votes are unvotable. It's just confirmation bias. She wants me to be Scum, so she sees voting early as Scummy, and she sees being helpful as Scummy. And she sees whatever she was trying to say in that other post as Scummy too, I suppose. Though, honestly, I can't figure out what she accusing me of there.

So why do you think there are a possible five kills per Night? I'm just guessing at the numbers. Idle Thoughts said the game wouldn't be too long, so we need lots of Night Kills (even though they will decrease as our Vigs are kiiled off). Scum Vigs separate from the communal Scum kill? Seems over-complicated, especially since Scum communicate and would decide those Kills jointly anyway. Three Scum kills and only 1 Town Vig? Could be unbalanced, especially if our only Vig were killed early. With the opportunity for a Vig or Doc to collide with a Scum Kill, having only 4 deaths with 5 killers wouldn't be unusual. So my guess is: There are two Town Vigs, and either 2 or 3 Scum Night Kills. (With 3 perhaps more likely than 2 since Idle said the game wouldn't last too long.) This accounts for all but one of the roles Idle mentions. The final role? Perhaps Godfather, since that's one of the more traditional roles, I think, but I'm guessing. None of this is PIS, BTW. I'm just trying to apply simple arithmetic to estimate what killer numbers make sense.

mchlle, Are you new to the game or not? underlining mine: I am going to vote for starrirain
My reasons for doing so are that being new to the game I am having to heavily rely on players who have more experience. Since I don't know how a newbie scum player is likely to behave, I agree that disappearance after posting a potentially scummy message is a sign of fear. I could be wrong but the clock is ticking and until day 1 is over, we aren't going to know better. Also I love to play mafia and do it when ever I have the time. That is just really not often enough. But Idle asked me to come and play and who can say no to Idle
And 'who' can say no to Idle? ;-)
Happy Mother's Day everyone outside of Britain, we had ours in March

Can you please respond to the fact that you have 2 IDs like Lightfoot did? And lightfoot's was created right when the game started. And it appears that your lower case one was what you used for posting to The Cabal thread only during Conspiracy.
This is metagamey, and I'm sorry if that's how we caught you.

So he said 15 scum, but you do not believe there are 15 scum and yet you call PIS. The next time you snip and smudge, make sure you snip out the part where I say that "I'm 0 for 2 on making a read on this post". I believe the PIS to be in the voting rationale that Laxrules posted. I said as much in Number 3, and in the summary before my vote. Laxrules' rationale doesn't make any sense to me, and I think that any other townie would conclude the same. Is there a reason why you snipped out 3 and my Vote Summary?I snipped one and three because I was curious about your PIS accusation. As near as I can determine, the only information in Laxrules' post is that there are 15 Scum. You discuss that in 2. In 1, you explain (correctly I think) why 14 votes is not out of line. I see no application of PIS to this. Any one of us can go to the votes and see that. In 3, well, you seem to admit that you do not know what Laxrule is talking about. A tortured reading of tortured writing. Guys it seems odd to me that 14 people all vote for one person, and there are 15 scum. Hypothetically if one doesn't vote or is inactive, then shouldn't we start with that lynch as to avoid a second mislynching? That's what I will be basing my votes on. Having again gone over all of this, it does make me curious what the logic is that leads from a) 14 votes for one person and b) 15 scum to c) "Hypothetically if one doesn't vote or is inactive, then shouldn't we start with that lynch as to avoid a second mislynching?" My guess is that no logical connection exists. He is making two points. One point about 14 votes and 15 scum, another point that lynching the inactive/non voters might prove more productive.

I need to get caught up with all the posts, but here's a MOD question first.
On the Roles post it is said that there will be a secret number of Detectives. Since the term Detectives is in the plural form, does it mean the secret number is at least 2 (meaning there is at least one more Detective other than Francescaj)?
