Pro-town Confirmeddiggitcamara CatinaSuit v2.0 Pro-Town LikelyRoosh Speculatorsinjin Unknown comprising 1 Speculator, 2 Scum, 1 vanilla, 1 Serial Killer Captain Klutz DeathByIrony Kat v2.0 Parzival zuma v2.0 Total 4 town 2 Spec 2 scum 1 SK We lose Roosh tonight regardless. If we lynch a town or SK, we probably lose the game to the Spec. (spec + scum vs town + sk) If we lynch a Spec, this leaves 4 town (town + sk) vs 3 Spec (spec + scum) vs 2 scum vs 1 sk If we lynch a scum, this leaves 4 town (town + sk) vs 3 Spec (spec + scum) vs 1 scum vs 1 sk And now for the fun part, because overnight, if the scum and SK kill off the two masons, this leaves 2 town (town + sk) vs 3 spec vs 1 or 2 scum vs sk giving a Spec win. So even if the town gets it right today, we can still wind up losing the game tonight dependent on the actions of the Night killers. Not only is this game Lynch or lose, it is also NightKill correctly or lose. Full marks to the Mods for this one.

Quick Reply to confirm CatinaSuit v2.0's status as a "mason".
(which makes it three times I've been a mason with Hal Briston as my accomplice, btw)

By unanimous vote, the Colony quickly filled its leadership vacuum, and diggitcamara filled the seat held for so long by Santo Rugger.
diggitcamara is the new Governor of New Canaan; he will resolve any tie votes and decide whether to allow a stay of execution in the event that a majority is reached on any candidate.

So the question is:
Do we lynch sinjin now as a definite Speculator or dive into the unknown pool and have a 3/5 chance of nailing a scum/Speculator.
Decisions, decisions.

Do we lynch sinjin now as a definite Speculator or dive into the unknown pool and have a 3/5 chance of nailing a scum/Speculator. Dude. The bitch put a bomb on me. And she's got a gun that makes people pee blue. AND she says she's got other abilities that she doesn't wanna name. As far as I'm concerned, She should DIE for her crimes. She's lethal and she's dangerous. We can't afford to mislynch, so let's take the surest path and get the bird in hand. Vote Sinjin

Although I have a feeling that today is not going to last too long regardless.

Before you guys decide to lynch me before dinner tonight, please consider a couple of things. I’m not the only one with a device that results in unusual reactions: Parzival Day FiveThen reconsider Roosh’s statements, which came after Cat’s reveal about the speculator’s device and the odd reactions. He’s again waffling between, oh woe is me I’m going to die and oh but then again, maybe not. Please also look at the statement Roosh made when Rugger came out with the first case of the blue wees: I would encourage everyone to look at Roosh's claim very carefully. It has enough holes to drive a truck thru. I will be doing an in-depth analysis myself, but [oog]will be checking out then into another hotel today, so won't be able to post again until later tonight or tomorrow RL, and it's sunny and in the 80's . [/oog] For the record, I'm a scientist not a speculator. My device identifies humans with nano-bots, it has nothing to do with attaching metallic devices to anyone, nor killing anyone. In addition, the other features of my device that I alluded to in my reveal post and Roosh has just alluded to as well allow me to hide at night. I am really just a " geeky chicken lab-rat" who has been hiding like a little girl since I came out of the WC. vote Rooshand: vote Bastard Mod

DAY SEVEN VOTE COUNT
sinjin (2) - Roosh, Captain Klutz Roosh (1) - sinjin
Three votes have been cast of a possible nine. Five votes on the same person will trigger a vote freeze. Otherwise, the Day will end naturally on Tuesday at 5:00PM EST, or in about five days.

Of course, there is one other question.
Can we afford to no-lynch today?
Well, if we no-lynch and Roosh dies from the bomb then the Speculators probably win.
If we no-lynch and Roosh does not die, then it is all up in the air.
If Roosh is a Speculator and we lynch a townie then the Speculators probably win.
decisions, decisions.

I actually have a question for Captain Klutz, one that I should've asked earlier, except that I didn't think of it:
Why, exactly, did you expect Kat v1 to notice your little neuromancer-revealing code*? In fact, why did you expect anyone to?
And also, did anyone pick up on it before Klutz pointed it out? (I'd assume that someone would have said something if they did, but you never know...)
*You know, based on the fact that she's a complete moron at crytography.

As much as I think she's an anti-town liar, I'm sort of in agreement on sinjin's view of Roosh. He looks more scummy every minute.
Nothing about his claim has been verifiable (unless he dies tonight) or contains special knowledge that the scum wouldn't have (even if it's true). Saying sinjin planted the device just seems like scum latching on to a good lynch target. (Although he may actually be telling the truth about that one - see below.)
I also think it wouldn't be that bad to lynch him - if he's scum, we catch scum, and if not we only lose him and not him plus someone else.
But I also look at the numbers, and see pretty much what CatinaSuit points out. The Speculators may be quite close to a win. Since it looks more like Speculators win with the Replicants and not the town, we do have to stop them.
I doubt the scum are as close to a win - three remaining would be a really tough balance, so it's probably two at most. The downside of lynching sinjin is it brings the scum a little closer to winning. It is probably what we have to do, though. We should still have a decent chance Tomorrow.
I'm not voting yet because I think we need a little bit of time to consider.
Somewhat speculative look at the next few Days, with number of town remaining.
(total population left/number of scum) Today: lynch Sinjin (8/2) If Roosh dies, (7/2) Two [seems to be what we're at] night kills (5/2)
or lynch Sinjin (8/2) If Roosh lives (8/2) Two night kills (6/2) [but Roosh is almost sure to be scum]
lynch Roosh (8/2) Two night kills (6/2) [likely a Speculator + scum majority]
There's one thought that struck me, though I'm not sure what bearing it has: It's possible Roosh is telling the truth about sinjin/the Speculators activating the device, but is also scum. It might be one method they have of 'controlling' replicants.

Ok a couple of posts in a row here. First to answer Cat: sinjin: Please could you post a list of everyone you have tested over the past 6 Days. Ok, it appears I have nothing to lose at this point and I'm not planning on testing anyone else in the future anyway. So any patterns that might be discerned are null and void. The folks I nanoed in order are: Roosh: Night 1. Kassia: Night 2. Rugger: Night 3. Klutz: Night 4. On nights 5 and 6 after I claimed I hid instead of nano-ing anyone. I figured it was better for the colony if I was alive vs possibly prooving one more person was a human and ending up dead. I hope you all remember that only about 50% of the humans I nano turn up with blue wee and don't go on a lynching spree. Please look at all the evidence.

Well, this is interesting.
Scenario One: Both Roosh and Sinjin are telling the truth (i.e., Roosh is a backup Medic who is going to experience an Earth-shattering kaboom and Sinjin is a variant detective who has a 50% chance of causing humans to pee blue) - Confirmed colonist pygmy rugger claimed to pee blue, and sinjin's claim hasn't been countered
Scenario Two: Roosh is lying (either about being a medic, or the bomb) - If the former, he goes kaboom at Dusk regardless; if the latter, we simply electrocute him the next Day (CatInASuit's speculations does make me just a bit paranoid, but for now I'd rather think positive and hope that there aren't that many Speculators)
Scenario Three: Sinjin is lying (i.e., she is a Speculator) - This would explain kassia's claim (she made up the blue pee) but not pygmy rugger's. Maybe the blue pee is the harmless side effect, and death the harmful one?
Scenario Four: BOTH are lying - Well, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
CatInASuit - does your role PM suggest an exact number of Speculators, or do you only know that there's more than one?

Well, the way I see it is that only one of these three people is town and the other two are lying.
sinjin Roosh Captain Klutz
They have all claimed pro-town power role but I don't think we have enough space for them all to fit in.
sinjin - you have yet to explain why my extra info also marks you as a Speculator as well. In fact, I would have said that regardless of Roosh.
Death By Irony, zuma v2.0 - some thought and input here would be useful, you are letting your sides down currently and if you don't contribute you will lose the game for whichever side you are on.

CatInASuit - does your role PM suggest an exact number of Speculators, or do you only know that there's more than one? The info I have is as follows: There is certain technology that can be used against Replicants and take them under control of the human wielding it. I don't know how it works, but it does not work on humans. However, half of all humans it is used on will experience "side effects". I believe that a FEW, ie. more than 2, Speculators are going to attempt to use this technology in New Canaan.

|
|
Post by sinjin on Jan 3, 2008 23:41:08 GMT -5
Cat: Yes I agree your info seems to implicate me in that your info says that about 50% of humans have a "side effect" due to what a speculator does to them and about 50% of humans wee blue if I nano them. However, there is another Easter bunny out there that causes a similar effect to the one experienced by Kassia and Rugger. Parzival was the recipient.
I don't know what else you want me to say except BASTARD MOD. I've been upfront about who I am and what I can do since the beginning. The person/persons who caused Parzival's effect have been silent. I am the lone survivor of a group of scientists trying to help the colony. I feel I'm being framed on damaging circumstantial evidence and again: BASTARD MOD, if I wasn't clear earlier.
Parzival: Why have you ignored the Easter Bunny who visited you and produced similar but not the same effects in you while you're condemning me as a liar? I will be going over your posts and the notes I made with respect to you and will post them after I deal with the 1.5Mb that is the download that is Roosh.

It was there so I could point it out later as evidence that I was aware of Kat.v1's Neuromancer role on Day 1. I did this because I thought this would prove my alignment, as my relationship to the Neuromancer was like the Oracle/Apprentice thing in Sekham (except in this case it actually was necessary for me to get the Neuromancer's attention). I did expect Kat.v1 to take notice when I suggested she was a scum investigator, but that was not related to the hidden message.

We have only 5 unknowns:
DeathByIrony Kat v2.0 Parzival zuma v2.0 Captain Klutz
There are 2 scum in that group. The fact that Tragic was shot and "retired" suggests that we have a backup Blade Runner. Who must also be in that group.
My thinking of the backup BR is that he/she has a Night action only and can choose to either investigate or kill (but not both). The sequence of events may have been: Night 4 - investigate Tragic Night 5 - kill Tragic Night 6 - investigate someone
Now if the BR is in that group of 5 and they investigated someone from that group then I think it's worth claiming now. Yes, the BR will almost certainly be targeted toNight, but consider:
1. If they found scum then lynching is more reliable than Night killing
2. If they found a townie then claiming will remove 2 names from the list, giving us damn good chances of nailing scum toDay
And I would prefer to lynch scum toDay. Note that sinjin is also a threat to the scum, so they may well target her toNight if we let her live (although in that case we'll need to hope that she doesn't gain control of the final replicant toNight).
Comments welcome

I'm debating whether to vote for the 100% anti-town Speculator sinjin or the 95% Nexus-9 Captain Klutz. I don't think you should vote for Klutz. Sinjin is the bird in hand, and she's the greater threat. Well at least to me i KNOW she's the greater threat. As that's why I'm dying toDay. Klutz's actions do NOT merit him being a target toDay and his Day 1 message Is QUITE hard to fake. Sinjin on the other hand... well we have 2 claimed people who have now evidence pointing DIRECTLY at her. Of course, if you don't believe ME, well then okay, that's a whole 'nother matter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Then reconsider Roosh’s statements, which came after Cat’s reveal about the speculator’s device and the odd reactions. He’s again waffling between, oh woe is me I’m going to die and oh but then again, maybe not. :sigh: Come on, it's my last Day here, can't I have a little bit of dramatic fun? I'm not waffling. I know I'm dying toDay at Dusk 100% unless someone out there can save me. Cuz I sure as hell can't anymore, I've already failed. --That's pretty much the greatest proof I can offer you ALL actually. If I DON'T die toDay, LYNCH ME FIRST THING tomorrow morning for being a liar. Or if you're a Blade Runner or a dude with a night kill Vig me toNight. I don't mind at all. That's the greatest thing against you actually. You voting for me is the MOST UNTOWNIE thing you can do actually. Because if you all DO manage to lynch me, you'll all be idiots having WASTED your lynch toDay on a person who's already sentenced to die. She knows that and I know that, so go ahead and make your case ALL you want vs. me. But I've got my proof at Dusk. LYNCH ALL LIARS, Sinjin. And currently You're the biggest Liar. I don't believe you one bit. In addition, the other features of my device that I alluded to in my reveal post and Roosh has just alluded to as well allow me to hide at night. I am really just a " geeky chicken lab-rat" who has been hiding like a little girl since I came out of the WC. How convenient. A device that lets you hide at night. I'm calling bullshit on that one, because that's NOT what I alluded to at all. Nice strawman though. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Of course, there is one other question. Can we afford to no-lynch today?Well, if we no-lynch and Roosh dies from the bomb then the Speculators probably win. If we no-lynch and Roosh does not die, then it is all up in the air. This is the BIGGEST ISSUE. WE CANNOT afford to NOT lynch toDay! Either way toDay I AM dying, whether you lynch or not. But I do NOT want the Town to waste its lynch toDay because its gonna be a close game, and just waiting to lose an extra Pro-town power role is such a stupid stupid move. I WILL Die at Dusk. So lynching me is a waste. -IF I don't die in your scenario- it's simple. LYNCH ME TOMORROW for being a LIAR. So you can cross off that choice. We NEED to get rid of Sinjin because I know 100% she's NOT Pro-Town. Diggit Klutz and CAIS you 3 people right now are the most useful people we have in this Town and you guys NEED to work together on this one because I won't be here much longer to help out the cause. And you'll be down my protection whatever shit use it has been. Don't believe me? Just wait till Dusk. The proof will be in the pudding. Nothing about his claim has been verifiable (unless he dies tonight) You can just stop right there, because thats exactly how my claim will be verified. So even if you think I'm guilty as hell that's fine. I'm still dieing tonight anyways. If I don't die, well then... lynch me tomorrow. Hell, if you wanna big a sick bastard, tell Sach to save up my guts and pieces or whatever the hell ends up being left of me during the night and just go 'head and put it on the chair toMorrow and flip the switch. I won't give a damn, and I won't mind, if that's what you need to convince you of my Towniness. That's why I'm offering the 100% proof: My death. If I don't die. Fine. I'm scum and Lynch me. But LYNCHING me (which is what I presume Sinjin will be trying to get you all to do now) Is the WORST possible move you can make. As it WASTES our lynch for toDay and basically gives BOTH the Replicants AND the Speculators a free wash toDay. Don't fall for it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, Sinjin, I find it interesting. How many damn scientists we got in this Town? Atarus pointed out he's the Dean of Sciences, and I think the other masons are probably had such roles as such as well. Unless we're to infer that the Deans are teacher roles and not considered "scientists" which to me is a pretty generic role. Do you have a title, sinjin, or any more flavor? Are you the last one of your group? And if the only other thing your gun did was protect you and only you, why did you feel that wasn't worth mentioning to the rest of us? The way you posted it made it seem like a very sinister thing, you could have allayed our fears back then rather than just simply keeping us in the dark. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scenario Three: Sinjin is lying (i.e., she is a Speculator) - This would explain kassia's claim (she made up the blue pee) but not pygmy rugger's. Maybe the blue pee is the harmless side effect, and death the harmful one? ding ding ding! I ain't lying. 100%. Lynch me tomorrow if I'm still fucking here. But I am NOT lying. However, there is another Easter bunny out there that causes a similar effect to the one experienced by Kassia and Rugger. Parzival was the recipient. -snip- Parzival: Why have you ignored the Easter Bunny who visited you and produced similar but not the same effects in you while you're condemning me as a liar? I will be going over your posts and the notes I made with respect to you and will post them after I deal with the 1.5Mb that is the download that is Roosh. Here's what I think.... I think Sinjin you and Parzival are in it together. Because if you were truly townie, you'd be going after Parzival first. But by "accumulating evidence" vs. me all you're doing is stalling and wasting time until I die anyways. It's just a waste of time, because you don't NEED evidence vs. me at this point in the game, it doesn't MATTER. Lynching me toDay is almost certainly a game losing move. I've explained my actions and how I reached my conclusions. If you let me know what you didn't like I'll try to explain it again. Ditto. But in regards to me. I'm the worst lynch possible toDay. Do NOT make that mistake guys, I'm BEGGING you. PLAY Smart, we had mistakes at the start of the game, but now I REALLY think we've got a chance to pull through, but we CANNOT afford to make mistakes or mislynches. Tonight will bring a WEALTH of information (as you'll see i'm telling the truth), AND then you can also get the evidence from the other person you lynch as well. But Lynching me cuts your evidence and data in HALF. THINK SMART GUYS. There's not much else I Can really really say here.... The proof will be in the pudding. Or the explosion i guess. But still.

Lynching me toDay is almost certainly a game losing move. I've explained my actions and how I reached my conclusions. If you let me know what you didn't like I'll try to explain it again. Knowing Kat v.1's role up front does not make you town, it just means you had extra knowledge before the game. And so a simple question for you: How do you explain the fact that your character role is useless unless a) Kat v.1 contacted you ANDb) Kat v.1 performed an investigation to pass on the results to you given that Kat v.1 only had the following investigations available . 1. She had a role identification power 2. A tracking power, 3. A watching power, and could only carry them out once. I have yet to see a role in any of the Mafia games where the major power of the role was useless in this way. Backups get to use their powers when the come into them and do not rely on other parties. A backup role for the Neuromancer would have picked up where Kat v.1 finished and not just picked up the output of her findings. Your role is effectively crippled unless Kat v.1 makes two important decisions, 1 being obvious, 1 being exceedingly unlikely. And for that reason alone, I don't buy it. Your role just doesn't work.

CIAS2,
I can't help the role I have, it is what it is.
I'l clear up one possible misconception: you said "a) Kat v.1 contacted you" I'm not sure what you mean by "contacted". This is what I said in my claim, Day 5.136 "I get the code key if the Neuromancer targets me with any of her abilities".
When I saw the Neuromancer's list of abilities I was surprised that there were so few investigations, as it meant my role was even less useful than I originally thought.
And I think I have grounds for complaint about the list of abilities being made available, as it has made my role seem less likely. I doubt that they would have been detailed under normal circumstances, so I feel a bit hard done by. Yes, this is a bit of a whinge, but I don't want to get lynched due to an unfortunate information leak.
Again, my role is what it is. I suspect that after the Oracle/Apprentice stuff in Sekham the designers decided to do something similar, but this time force the Apprentice to get the Oracle's attention. I think they should have chosen a pure investigator, rather than the odd mix that the Neuromancer had.
Finally, you said Yes, I had extra knowledge before the game. Please come up with a scenario where it makes sense for a non Town role to be given information about a town power role before the game.

Ok you lot. Role claim time. Lets see what stories you have to tell and how good at lying some of you are. ;D Lets piece the rest of this jigsaw together. Whoa, whoa, whoa this is such a bad idea, I couldn't believe you actually suggested it CatinaSuit. People don't role claim. I think it's a last minute ploy to give the game to the Speculator's. I have a very bad feeling about this. Think about this: 1. Who is the one with the most information about speculator's? 2. Who has supposedly determined the speculator's win condition? 3. Who has waited days to reveal his supposed tid-bit of information about my role, all while the humans I identified were picked off one by one at night? 4. Who has conveniently left a back-up bladerunner off his list of possible surviving roles? Our very own confirmed mason CatinaSuit. Who I now believe is a traitor who although he "grew up" with his fellow masons and is "well-known" to them went over to the darkside not for cookies but for all the money Kassia was collecting. It's the only way for me to make sense of the sudden orchestrated attack on me toDay, his role fishing and his tossing out the possibility of a no lynch to see if anyone bites. We have to be very careful people. I think Cat is using his pet replicant(s) to take out known humans at night. And I think Roosh is his latest pet. How else to explain Roosh's sudden move on Cat's list to the Probably Pro-town column? Finally, Why is Roosh so desperate to live today if he's going to die at dusk anyway?

I think Parzival is the last Speculator. I've been having nagging feelings about Parzival being scum for most of the game. I put together a case last Night but decided against posting it because it wasn't very strong. However, toDay he seemed to be more inclined to lynch Roosh rather than sinjin, which looked very odd. So I revisited my parzival stuff and I now think it points toward him being a Speculator. Here are the relevant bits.
Day 2.63
He has pointed out that scum cannot strategise during the day. This is useful information that is worth telling us about. But then there is a totally unnecessary comment added: "I had missed that, and wasn't sure until I read it that we could rule out scum strategizing during the Day". This adds nothing to the post, except to say "I am not scum, otherwise I would have already known this". And that pings me a bit.
Here's an interesting thing - Parzival says "any groups that can confer off-board...". That's "any groups", not just "scum". But then he says "we could rule out scum strategizing during the Day". Note that storyteller didn't say "any groups", he said "Off-board discussants". So where did "any groups" come from? This made me think that perhaps Parzival is a Speculator, rather than scum. I was intrigued by his post Night 6.6, where he wants to focus on replicants:
Day 5.160 Parzival is not certain of my alignment. Well, I'm not sure how you can be certain of anyone's alignment, unless you have special knowledge. My reading of that is "I know he's not fellow scum, but I can't tell if he's Colony or Third Party". Although it could also be "I wasn't able to control you, so I know you're not a rogue replicant, but I don't know what the heck you are".
Also, Parzival being a Speculator explains his mysterious visitor (there wasn't one).
Overall, I think Parzival is our best bet for the last Speculator. And since he thinks that we should focus on Replicants, I think we should take out a Speculator toDay. So I'm happy with my vote for Sinjin.

Okay, back to the 5 unknowns:
DeathByIrony Kat v2.0 Parzival zuma v2.0 Captain Klutz (claimed Code Runner)
Parzival is (I believe) the last Speculator. That means that the other 4 include 2 scum and the backup Blade Runner (if there is one). Scum know that I am not one of them and so they have no reason to disbelieve my claim. This means that scum now know the identity of the backup Blade Runner.
Yes, I think it is definitely time for a general role claim.
