Day Six

Post by Idle Thoughts on Jan 8, 2009 16:39:26 GMT -5
Everyone woke up to find two bodies lying bloody in the middle of the water.
Santo Rugger AKA WALUIGI, scum....was taken out violently.
Chucara AKA SAMUS, a PFK Seriel Killer....was taken out violently.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is now Day Six.
The waters eventually melted and soon, everyone was on dry land again. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief at not having to hold their breath anymore.
Mallow has changed the weather! Mallow created a nice, summer day with a slight breeze!
Suddenly one of the slight breezes changed to a HUGE GUST and swept everyone up in it! Carrying everyone along up and into the air, it flew them all around. It was like being caught in a riptide, only they weren't underwater anymore, they were all flying through the air.
Trying to learn how to fly quickly, most people found themselves flying upside down and backwards. What a kerfluffle! Not only is this Day going to be upside down (opposite) of what Underwater was....it's going to be BACKWARDS as well! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are now all being flown through the air by a huge gust. Therefore ToDay is going to be the opposite of how it was underwater.
This means (to many of your reliefs) that only votes will count (like they usually do). However, similiar to underwater, everyone may vote more than once...AND for more than one player at a time.
Similiarly, anyone may also UNvote someone they are not even voting for, to take away votes. An unvote cancels out a vote made my anyone
You do not have to unvote anyone to vote for someone else. You can do nothing but vote, if you want (or unvote)
However, there's just one more thing. It will be backwards toDay too.
The person with the LEAST number of votes is the one who will be lynched.
Everyone has 10 votes to start out with. You may try to lynch someone either by unvoting someone many times OR raising the votes of all the others up.
A few things:
1. You may only vote/unvote a max of FIVE times in one post. 2. Yes, votes can go into the negatives. 3. I will not be showing who is voting for who toDay, merely how many votes a person has.
Happy flying!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The amount of votes it will take doesn't matter toDay. Whoever has the MOST votes at the end of Day will be lynched. End of Day is on Wednesday at 10 AM.
Vote count:
KidV - 10 votes Total Lost - 10 votes MiteyMouse - 10 votes Zeriel - 10 votes Kat - 10 votes sinjin - 10 votes Hoopy Frood - 10 votes Almost Human - 10 votes misterblockey - 10 votes Cookies - 10 votes Nanook - 10 votes

I guess the scum didn't like the thought of a PFK SK playing Vig for town. Seems fine by me.
I don't even want to think about how this system will work. But since we can vote for more than one person at a time...

By the way Idle, you contradicted yourself in there. At one point you say it's the least number of votes, later you say the most. Or is that part of the color for backwards Day?

I hate to take the fun out of this but if everyone is voting willy nilly it is going to be really hard to keep track of the voters and the votees. Maybe we should decide who we want to lynch first and then start unvoting them. Just sayin.

Also, I have a spiny.
This tells me that scum are not the source of the spinies (assuming that spinies are counting towards someones win condition), because I've got to be fairly high on the scum kill-list.

Maybe we should decide who we want to lynch first and then start unvoting them. Just sayin. Barring an interesting development, none of the players voted so far should be on anyone's lynch list. I agree that we need to hold off voting on unconfirmed players until everybody checks in.

Idle has a knack. A knack for moving the forums around while I'm combing through events of other Days. I was working on blockey, when suddenly I started getting a lot of "you have followed a link to a post that does not exist" message. That's the second time he's done that to me. (The first was when we warped in the middle of the night 3). Anyway, I'll continue my blockey examination in a bit.
First things: So Chucara kept his word, apparently. And someone whacked chucara. I see a few possibilities:
1) We have a vig after all, who didn't want an SK muscling in on his territory. (Doubtful, because our vig has yet to act this entire game, it seems.)
2) Scum took out chucara (for any or all of the following reasons):
2.a) They viewed the vig as more dangerous than any of us, since the vig can not only reduce the unconfirmed pool (as I can) but can also permanently take that unconfirmed out of the game.
2.b) Nanook is a scum falsely claiming doctor. The scum know that any kill on me will likely fail until the doctor is found. The scum don't want to narrow the unconfirmed pool, so they take out a threat that is not going to be protected.
Note: The issue with 2b by itself is if Nanook had false claimed, scum might have tried to hit Kat, a confirmed with no claim to ferret out the doctor. (Since everyone else has a claim.)
2c) Scum want to screw with town by giving them WIFOM. Since they targeted neither the claimed Dick nor claimed Doc. (The MiteyMouse ran up the clock. The clock struck one, the MiteyMouse ran down. Hickory, Dickory, Doc.)
Regardless, last night was good for us. Our win condition didn't change. Our confirmed are still alive. Our claimed powers are still alive. And we have another townie to remove from the pool.
Almost Human, is, as she said, Town.

Post by Nanook on Jan 8, 2009 17:14:32 GMT -5
Only 5 per post Hoopy. I'm not sure how Idle's going to handle posts like yours though. Count the first 5? Count none?
So we start the Day with 10 people. We now have 6 confirmed. (Yes, Hoopy and/or I could be lying, meaning the only true confirmed person is KidV, but that seems extraordinarily unlikely to me at this point.) That leaves 5 unknowns. We have seens 2 scum and 3 PFKs die. Considering the number of players we started with, the most I would expect to see if 5 scum and 4 PFKs. That means that worst case scenario right now, we have 3 scum and 1 PFK hiding in 5 unknowns. We could lynch at random and hit an anti-town element at this point.
Personally, and I freely admit I might be wrong on this, I have a sneaking suspicion that there are no more PFKs left. Why did the win con not change Today? Mitey is alive, and even if she weren't she said that it would change anyways. A roleblocker is dead, and I doubt the scum have one too or else they would have killed me or Hoopy last Night while blocking Chucara. I bet Idle choose not to change the win con because it was due to come all PFKs are dead, and he didn't want the game to end just yet.
This means then that 3 of sinjin, Cookies, Total Lost, blockey and zeriel are scum, and those are the ones we should be concentrating on Today.
Oh and Vote Hoopy Vote Nanook Vote Kat Vote KidV Vote Almost Human
Sorry Mitey, you get skipped this rotation.

Ok, then.
Vote Almost Human
Hoopy, if Nanook is a false-claimed Doctor, we'll know that at the end of Tonight... the scum almost have to take a shot at one of the two of you (I'm suprised they didn't already, to be honest), and if they don't, that'll be that. I trust Nanook knows how to handle that situation, so I think we've all said enough on this topic.
This does mean scum were more scared of Chucara (thanks, btw) than you, which is interesting. From where I sit, that wasn't optimal play, but maybe there's something relevant we don't know.
We do know that we're at three spinies (that anyone has admitted to, anyway). Santo didn't talk about his, so assuming that our spiny-er targeted someone every night, then our spiny-er probably has information regarding another scum. I don't see how that helps us. Spiny-person is obviously canny, targeting only confirmed Town at this point, counting on our reluctance to remove players from the confirmed list. Allow me to volunteer to be first to go if/when the time comes... we'll just have somebody besides me be a hammer vote, and we can lose me without wasting a lynch.

Only 5 per post Hoopy. I'm not sure how Idle's going to handle posts like yours though. Count the first 5? Count none? Yeah, I realized that after I posted. I suppose if Idle doesn't get back to me I can just revote everyone. After all, multiple votes on the same person by the same person have no effect normally, and as Idle has said, aside from the unique mechanics, the rest of the voting/unvoting rules apply, I should be safe doing that. But I'll wait until Idle comes back.

Day Six

Post by Høøpy Frøød on Jan 8, 2009 17:43:35 GMT -5
On Day 1, he placed the second vote for Ed early in the Day. It was a me-too. This action garnered a vote in turn from Total Lost. And after Special Ed had explained himself, Blockey had come back on, but hadn't unvoted Ed or even addressed what Ed said, which earned a vote from me, and later from bufftabby (the infamous "debacle" post).
Later, he switches to mmouse for lurking. Notices she posted while he was making his post, but she posted little of content. Then notices he really meant MiteyMouse. So he votes Mitey instead, thinking the mice are one in the same and he wants to get the name right. Then NAF alerts him to the two different mice, and he unvotes the current mouse until he can wrap his head around who's who. Eventually votes mmouse again.
During that series of posts, the three of us with votes on him all remove our votes.
This is the end of Day 1 for him. He leaves himself with a one-off vote during the whole Bufftabby/DBI thing. This could be scum distancing, however there are two things that mitigate this:
1) Bufftabby also left her vote on mmouse, even when a switch to DBI might have kept her alive. However, her reasoning was that her lynch would provide more information than a DBI lynch would. (If only she had known how wrong she was on that point....) Granted, blockey didn't give a reason for leaving his one off, so this doesn't mitigate much.
2) He was having real life bad shit going down. His vote on mmouse happened during a window of a couple hours, whereas after that he didn't show up again for 5 days or so.
Five days later...Day 2:
He votes mmouse again. Originally says he wasn't going to, but then with her odd posts and no claim he finds her voteworthy. Says the game is too big to end with a Jester solo win and a scum bomb needs to be killed eventually anyway, so he has no worries about voting mmouse.
Only other post is saying that he doesn't feel Mitey is a good candidate for lynch.
By the end of the Day there were a shit-ton of confirmed town 6 out of the 11) on the mmouse bandwagon, plus a scummy Plunger...er, Plugger of the Santo type.
Day 3:
Suggests we not lynch Mitey in case we have a 3-day win condition cycle, since killing her that Day will give us the worst one so far. [Of course, then there was Day 4's condition....]
No vote at the end of Day 3.
A week passes from his last Day 3 post to his first Day 4 post (Mushroom Kingdom)
Day 4:
Votes Shaggy. That's it. He's number two, after Almost Human (town) votes first. Follow up votes are Sinjin (unconfirmed) and Rugger (scum).
Is fairly active modding his minigame at this point.
Day 5:
Defends his vote of Shaggy.
Points out that Santo swung the lynch away from DBI. Almost Human cites this as a townie thing, but acutally it means nothing for him. We have a good number of strong players on the town side left in this game. One of us was likely to see it.
End of Data. No (un)vote at end of Day.

I would like to say a couple things. I've been trying to follow this game, I really have, but what with my rl shite it is a bit hard.
Fairly active modding my minigame is an overstatement. I had the idea going around in my head for a while, but the actual work amounted to approximately 1 hour total, and that's taking everything I've done on the minigame to date.
I'm not caught up still, although I am trying, but I have honestly no clue which way to go.
I actually was going to vote/unvote ed as he kept pinging me, however I had nothing new to add and the post/vote restrictions made it very hard for me to get something on record. Too early and I'd mess the whole thing up, and too late and I wouldn't have done any good anyway.

OK I took a quick look to make sure I had my people right.
I know that I'm vanilla town, but I can't prove it to you guys, and to be honest I'm not going to try terribly hard.
I'm Princess Daisy, I'll give you that, but it doesn't much matter.
It looks like, if all of our confirmed are actually who they say they are, that town could just lynch everyone on the unconfirmed list one by one and make it. I don't like making that supposition, but if I did my numbers right we still have that.
Still I'd rather look for moves that maximize information, and a little thought and a little double checking, and right in the middle of the unconfirmed sit Zeriel and Total Lost, who've been after each other for a while now. Seems to me the least likely scenario would be that they're both town. (much less likely in my eyes, but that's just my word)
