Texcat has been offered the chance to cleanse sins by me. Once again I am sorry about the lack of attention dealt ATM and will be more available for the games starting midweek!

Bleh - I dislike games that get all talky over the weekend. There has got to be more at play that just everyone vs the devils
Looks like my scumdar is a bit off with folks vouching for everyone I have felt is scummy.
so on that basis, and since I dont have time today to read through the day in detail
Unvote: everyone
Vote: scathach as I agree with Story Vote: pollux as he's being me as being uber townie - and my scumdar is fraked Vote: texcat for the same reason (tho she rather than he)

Also: "Their soul cannot be claimed by a devil that night"? So devils claim dead players' souls at night? I have no idea why you'd wait until forced to claim before revealing this information. Heck, Idle's "hints" gave you an ideal opportunity. Vote: JustBeingGinger. And now the spectre of recruitment rears its head again... I am getting seriously worried here. HockeyMonkey, you say that the people you've cleared are still Christian. Ok. Fine. Accepting that and moving on. So here's my next question: I appreciate that you don't want to give away the mechanics of your role; but this is important, to say the least. If I know somebody is not a devil on Day One, can I be sure that that person is not a devil on subsequent days? If you look back I brought it up as a question about what happens after a lynch if the souls are in purgatory or if they go to heaven or hell. I will look back through the posts to see. No one responded to me, I think... Answering the question that JBG brought up If my understanding is correct, if a person has no sins, they go to Heaven. Devils go to hell, and if a player has sin, they go to purgatory, where their final fate is determined... I think this is in the Sign up thread

May we have a vote count? Do we really have "no lynch" tied for the lead(or nearly tied?)?

I went back to look at Pollux. His votes (linked for easy access to the full posts, but summarized): 1.200 He votes crys. "To have a vote on the table. I'm voting for her because both her votes look less like scum hunting and more like finding a place to put her votes." 1.305 Says he doesn't know about Patricia. Votes BillMc, Gnarly, Laurie, Patricia, Solaris, because they have not voted. 2.125 votes mrV. votes Wombat for her lynching the sinless remark. 2.178 unvotes mrV. votes dizzy, SisC, KidV "I wish I could nail down exactly what I find scummy about these three, but it's more of a gut feeling." votes mahaloth for voting a lynch leader while catching up. 3.316 Votes colby for colby's vote on wombat. Pollux was on the very tail end of the Patricia wagon, and even then he voted her for not having a vote down. In spite of his first vote for crys for finding a place to put her votes, Pollux looks quite a bit like he's looking for a place to put his votes. When he voted for the filibuster yesterDay, he promised that he would hold those voting for the filibuster accountable and see what they did in the extra time. He did do some analysis at the time about whether the voters for the tied lynch leaders were filibustering or not, but I never saw him give stinky eyes to anyone toDay. Promising analysis later and not delivering raises red flags and alarm bells to me. Vote: Pollux Oil
I'll throw a vote down based on this. Also because he has no notes against him in my list either, along with Suburban Plankton, Mahaloth and Colby. vote Pollux Oil

Vote scathach
This bandwagon on me appeared out of nowhere, and strikes me as a mostly townie mistake considering there are very few other options. Crys is voting for me for a bad interpretation of my activity. Texcat's reasons for voting for me are fine, I can understand it. I said I was going to follow up on the filibustering and I didn't. So much new information was thrown at us toDay it slipped my mind and I got caught up in trying to figure out the game. Bill's vote makes no sense. I'm super townie to him so he's voting for me. Great. But I have a Town read on him still because of the no sins things.
Scathach's most recent vote, though, sticks out like a sore thumb to me as an attempt to put more people under fire and jumping on a late-forming bandwagon. I don't like it, and combined with storyteller's excellent vote analysis I'm more than happy to put a vote there.
I'll also put a vote in the ring on mahaloth, for reasons I did yesterDay. His "catching up" vote on a vote leader really struck me as odd.
Vote mahaloth
---
Here's my problem. Here's the player list, divided into two categories:
01. Hockey Monkey! 02. silverjan 03. guiri 04. wombat99 06. JustBeingGinger 07. mistervisceral - 1 penalty 11. Chucara 12. crys 17. texcat 18. Lightfoot 19. Idle Thoughts 21. HolyMoley! 23. BillMc 24. dizzymrslizzy - 2 penalties 26. ryjae
08. Mahaloth - 1 penalty 09. scathach 10. storyteller0910 - 1 penalty 13. Suburban Plankton 14. KidVermicious 15. Pollux Oil 16. colby11 - 1 penalty
Now, the top group is the huge list of people that are "confirmed"ish in some way. Either they've confirmed somebody, claimed their role, are in the process of getting sins cleansed, gave information that is mostly Christian, yadda yadda yadda. The bottom list is the list of people who haven't done anything yet.
What are the odds that all the scum remaining are in the bottom group, really? Especially since there have been a lot of half-claims and confirmations without anything to back it up. If we postulate a 5 person scum group (possibly 6, depending on powers) we have 4 or 5 scums left. The odds that all the scum left are in the unclaimed pool? Unlikely. And since I know I'm a Christian, that means there's only 6 options (to me, from my perspective) and that just doesn't sit well with me.
Somebody's lying about something. I can understand lynching out of the unclaimed/unconfirmed pool toDay but tomorrow we need to seriously get down to brass tacks and pool our information.

Well, I was hoping to get through at least another day without revealing the information I have, but it'd be selfish of me to not come out with it and try to skate through when it's possible everyone's going to mislynch me. I'm not sure how much to share but I'll give as much as I think is appropriate. I am an investigator role (no mechanic, so you can cross me off your list, Moley) and at Dawn I receive a list of every person who sinned the previous Night. I figured that the Devils sin when they kill people or do whatever it is they do at Night, and I was hoping for as many data points as possible before revealing my information so we could find some correlation. I think it's detrimental for me to reveal all the sinners at once because a) I can possibly use it to confirm actions and b) knowing who has sinned is probably helpful to Devils, and I don't want to give them too much info. So here's some of the information I have: 9 people sinned on Night One.8 people sinned on Night Two.4 people sinned on both Nights.Sister Coyote and Laurie both sinned on Night One.As you can see, I asked Sister Coyote here whether her power caused her to sin. If she came forward and said she had sinned last Night, I was going to vouch for her and maybe try to steer away the lynch. However, in the following conversation she acted like she hadn't sinned, so I thought I had caught her in a lie and didn't say anything. So I figured out after Sister Coyote was lynched that Christians aren't informed when they sin, which makes my power more useful I guess? To further confirm my role, I'll say that one of the 4 people that have sinned both Nights is texcat. She was on my radar as a possible scum killer, however, since she is going to have her sins cleansed I figure it doesn't hurt to reveal this information. Finally, one of the reasons I've been very, very suspicious of Hockey Monkey is that her, mistervisceral, and dizzymrslizzy ALL sinned on Night Two, but none of them sinned on Night One. That has really just struck me as an odd coincidence, and I don't believe in coincidences, especially mafia. We have a few hours left in the Day, I should be around to answer any questions about my role, but I'd rather reveal as little information as possible about who sinned because I don't know how much that information can help the Devils. The information I have given is to try and show I am Christian and why I've taken the actions I have.

Pollux's claimed power would be exactly what the Devils need to Help figure out who is committing which Cardinal Sins. I am not removing my vote. I think my power would be too powerful in scum hands. My power is essentially a passive power, the list is just delivered to me each morning. If sinning is related to using powers in any way, it essentially gives scum a hitlist every Night as to where the important power roles are and who's getting information/doing things each Night. I admit it seems like it'd be more useful to scum, but it's also gamebreaking. I'd have no reason to share the information with the general public if I were a Devil. Who is on your list that has not sinned? I'd be more suspicious of them. And yes I can confirm that I sinned both nights. Revealing who hasn't sinned would essentially reveal who HAS sinned, so I don't want to reveal everyone. I'll say this: Bill and Idle haven't sinned which goes along with their stories, and neither has Holy Moley or Chucara which is why I'm more willing to believe their handshake than Hockey Monkey's.

Since I appear to be in the lead
So unfortunately not confirmable unless someone blocks me really.
If I do get lynched I'd take a good hard look at the people on my wagon, which sprang up very late in the day and for extremely weak reasons.

We know that Christians sin. I am not convinced that Devils sin.
I don't know what a "cs" is? Autocorrect for pm?? Anyway, I sin if I try to use one of my powers and I have done that both nights, thinking that 3 or 4 sins is not any worse than 1 sin. I have not been successful with my power, but I still get the sins.
I agree with Wombat that Pollux's power is one that the Devils might have. His reluctance to answer questions about who has not sinned doesn't help. I am going to leave my vote there.

I agree with Wombat that Pollux's power is one that the Devils might have. His reluctance to answer questions about who has not sinned doesn't help. I am going to leave my vote there. Reluctance? I gave you the names of four people who haven't sinned. Why are you so curious about the non-sinners over the sinners? Here, why not, since it's EOD I'll give you a rundown of the lynch leaders: scathach - hasn't sinned texcat - sinned both nights Pollux - hasn't sinned suburban - sinned one night mahaloth - hasn't sinned wombat - sinned both nights (I have no problems revealing this since she claims she is a Heretic and thus isn't a Christan, and this information may be of use to the Christians) Hopefully that will help you make an informed decision, and stop using BS reasons to keep your vote on me. Unvote scathachI'll give her claim benefit of the doubt since it's not exactly a scum power, and if scum did have that sort of power it would likely be obscuring the results, not revealing more information. Since we've been getting the information she's indicated, I'd guess she's not Devil-oriented. Vote Suburban PlanktonLooking back on his post history, I notice a very big discrepancy: Here and here, on Days One and Three, he makes a big deal about people voting in huge chunks at once (Holy Moley and Hockey Monkey, respectively, although he later clarifies he mistook Hockey Monkey for Holey Moley). On Day Two, here, he votes for a huge chunk of people at once, and is seemingly okay with this as long as he's doing it. Of the lynch leaders, I guess I'd like to see Suburban lynched the most at this point, with the runners-up being mahaloth or wombat. I'd be more suspicious of texcat, honestly, but ryjae has already made his move and we'll see the results of that soon anyway, so might as well see how it turns out.

But now that you mention it, it doesn't appear that Polllux has a Cardinal Sin or a power that goes with it. I do have a Cardinal Sin, but I'm trying not to advertise it as best I can. My main power has nothing to do with my Cardinal Sin, and my secondary power is mostly useless (in my opinion) so I don't see the reason I needed to even indicate its existence.

Oh and unvote Texcat Because of the pseudo investigation that ryjae has offered to do. I think this unvote is pretty foolish and here's why: Why wait for results? If you're suspicious of someone and think they're scum, then you should just vote for them. Because let me tell you just what is PROBABLY going to happen: Some sort of roleblocker will most likely do the same thing they did last time and make it so the results are non-conclusive, just like they did in BillMc's case. So we're right back on square one the next Day with no new information gleaned. I mean, I'm good for texcat being scum...which is why I'm voting for her. If you were too, why let possible scum have an extra Night of mayhem they could get away with? Not to mention, it put YOURSELF--someone close in the lead with votes--in the lead, if I'm not mistaken (or at least closer to it at the time). So you're less sure that YOU are Town than Texcat is? Come on...

Come on... I don't think I was in the lead when I unvoted, so given that Texcat was going to be (kind of) investigated, then I preferred a Pollux or Suburban lynch. I will vote Texcat before EOD if it will save me from the lynch.

Post by Holy Moley! on Feb 18, 2013 16:23:03 GMT -5
Ryjae's power has apparently been blocked once already. That worries me. Moley, why are you making this so complicated? The simple answer is that SisC is scum and is lying. She tried to invent an investigator role similar to ryjae's and messed it up. That kind of pings me. I think it depends, though, on BillMC's current alignment. If BillMC, DizzyLizzy and Wombat all turn out to not be devils, I'd be less suspicious of Texcat for putting late suspicion on SisterCoyote. There didn't seem to be any need to "upset the applecart" of a 3x-non-devil lynch. My thoughts on Scathach's role reveal: the power looks townish, but I have a question over the name. Firstly, all but one of the names revealed (including my own) of Christians - the exception being "the duellist" - have direct and obvious references to Christianity. Secondly, I was sure I'd heard "gravedigger" mentioned as a colloquial reference to Satan. I did some googling and came up with a Dave Matthews song on the album "Some Devil". Also Lucifer, the main antagonist of the game "Painkiller", whose first words when revealed in the game are: "I dig graves". Finally this: www.goodreads.com/book/show/48345.The_Gravedigger_FileWhat I'm getting at is that that's a really odd name to give a Christian role. So some suspicion on both Texcat and Scathach, but I'd like to propose an alternative lynch candidate in KidVermicious. Reasons: 1) I disagreed with just about everything yesterday - in particular his early suspicions on Lightfoot. I feel like he was accepting a lot of things without question - that a devil would publicly urge the lynch of a Christian, in the case of Wombat - and just when it was becoming obvious to me that Wombat might not be a devil is when KidV started voting her. He then jumped onto the SisterCoyote bandwagon when the pressure started ceasing on Wombat, and again, seemed to accept Texcat's "catch" automatically without really questioning SisC's actions in light of possible town motivation. I've played scum when KidV has been town... my impression is he's more thorough than this. Finally, looking at the Patricia votes, it would make sense for a devil to place a vote on Patricia when the wagon really started picking up. A fourth or fifth vote would be the obvious time. The fourth and fifth Patricia votors were Scathach and KidVermicious. Before I put this vote: I've been back over KidV's posts and he did say that he would be back today. I don't want to vote him out while he's absent in case I'm wrong again and he has a provable Christian role. How long have we got until end of day?
